  • Just imagine, after this series ended, this would have a kick-ass movie, had it been adapted into one starring Wesley Shipp and others.

  • Wow, i'm a nerd...

  • Watched it every week...too bad it lasted only one season.

  • If this show came out now, it would be the bomb!

  • I loved the show except for one thing: most of the bad guys were just guys in street clothes and often bore little resemblance to their comic book counterparts. Still Mark Hamill as the Trickster more than makes up for any shortcomings. :)

  • @LibraGamesUnlimited

One episode also featured Captain Cold.

  • @syafiqjabar Yeah but wasn't he just some dude in a blue suit who was a hitman or something? I get that a lot of the older bad guy's had questionable looks and budgets being what they were it might be hard to come up with something cool but the street clothes thing smacks of not even trying. All that said I DID love the show and really need to see if I can get my hands on the show on DVD at some point. :)

  • that suit is retarded but those affects are pretty good

  • Oh, I used to watch this with my dad. Great times. :,)

  • Flash as he gets to the grand canyon:

GOOD LORD, HOW YOU FRUSTRATE ME LEONARD HOFSTADERRRRR!!!

  • Im batm.... i mean The Flash.....

  • This was, indeed, composed by Danny Elfman. I have this whole series, I love it.

  • This has to be Danny Elfman sounds like the batman theme from 1989

  • @itsameray and the Simpsons :)

  • This show was ahhhhhhhhhhead of it's time......I loved it.

  • somedays since i'm too busy for job and university so i have to do everything fast as flash, even jerk off

  • 0:51 See? THIS is EXACTLY why this show never made it. I mean, REALLY? To what kind of gaping ASSHOLE would it occur to try to show super-speed in slow motion?

  • @1acroyear1 I'm convinced this is really an elaborate troll. I guess you've never stopped to think that The Flash moves so fast that the human eye could not see him, and they slowed it down to allude to the fact that they HAD to slow the footage down because he was moving SO fast we wouldn't have seen him otherwise?

  • @AdventureJones Oooh! THAT kind of gaping asshole.

  • @1acroyear1 Yep, the kind who has a job making TV shows while you sit back and play armchair warrior, complaining about a show that depicts a man in a dark red jumpsuit running at supersonic speeds. In the actual show, the super-speed was not shown in slow-mo, The Flash was a blur. How else would you have had them depict the character? "Here's a show about The Flash. He's not really in it, though, because he's moving faster than your human eyes can detect...but trust us, he's there!" -eye roll-

  • they couldn't resist the temptation to make it campy.

  • This show was one of the best super hero series made for TV to this day!!!

  • @RippingTheSystems1x1 "The Cape" comes close!!!!

  • @theman2017inc I'm sorry, but The Cape was MISERABLE.

  • is there a chance i could get this righ now

  • I liked this show

  • the muscles on the actor was all fake, i hate that!

  • @rosewaterkaren000 The suit "enhances" his muscles, but the actor was quite bulked up. Watch the pilot episode and you'll see.

  • i used to watch this and now i gots it on dvd.

  • Man this show deserved a 2nd season.

  • I really liked the Captain Cold episode, though it wasn't the same comic book character. Anyways, I liked how three major characters from Flash' rogue gallery appeared in this show, even if they weren't the same. Captain Cold, Mirror Master and Trickster.

  • @GamingandMetal6

Yeah it does 'cause it is a John Williams(I think) composed song.

    Very EPIC.

  • @glenwo2 danny elfman composed the song because since he did batman they wanted him to do the flash too

  • is it me or does this song sound a litlle like batman theme song

  • @GamingandMetal6 Same Composer! :)

  • @GamingandMetal6 considering it was written by batman score writer danny elfman, yeah lol

  • @GamingandMetal6 It was done by Danny Elfman

  • @GamingandMetal6 Both were written by Danny Elfman, so it's no coincidence. Actually most of Elfman's comic book movie scores sound the same as Batman.

  • @GamingandMetal6 its composed by the same person

  • @GamingandMetal6 Well both were done by Danny Elfman. That's why it probably sounds familiar to you.

  • @GamingandMetal6 funny you should say that. This and the Batman theme from the original movie were done by Danny Elfman.

  • ...he had his own show......does he have a movie to?

  • @mexicanLOUBForce If Green Lantern does well, yes. The script has already been written by the GL guys.

  • the coolest DC hero :)

  • he was damn HOT in that costume.

  • I L-O-V-E DANNY ELFMAN

  • i loved this show growing up

  • this needs to be shown on syfy or any channel!

  • ...en los 90's fue un #WIN!...DC que te ha pasado?

  • they should make another flash tv show instead of wonder woman. I want a wonder woman movie.

  • now the flash isn't that entirely built, he's very slim like a runners body.

  • I remember thinking the part where The Flash flips the cycle with the 2x4 was extremely cool! Too bad Mythbusters proved that could never happen. (Like a man runnning 250 mph could happen!)

  • Awesome retro show. Lotsa fun.

  • the intro sounds like Batman a lil bit!

  • @AsianNinjaGodJimmyJM

It should. Danny Elfman did both. :)

  • @ChrisJ092

    sweet

    thought so!

    that soo cool!!!!!

  • the cape in 1990

  • @WORLDWIDEPRANKS

Oh my, . . .this was lightyears better than the cape. Thta show still has a lotta kinks and bugs too work out.

  • How many seasons?

  • Why did they cancel this show? It was great.

  • I own this series on DVD!

  • @blackfalcon1985 Where did you get it?

  • @SuperCartiel Wal-Mart like 3 years ago.

  • I remember loving this show. The techniques they used to illustrate the flash's super-speed were way ahead of their time, and actually look better than the CGI crap they use on smallville. Only gripe I had was i always pictured the flash being thinner, more wirey looking with the body of an olympic sprinter, this guys too muscular looking, and the suit is a little over airbrushed for my taste.

  • Funny..dont remember this.

  • The Flash..the ORIGINAL buns of steel

  • It's shows like this and a few others that if you noticed were not just great but incredible, yet only had a few seasons and the truly lower case shows that people avoid seem to stay on forever.

  • in 1990? without bullet time?

  • We were NOT inspired by Batman when making this show. Nope. Not at ALL.

  • omg i use to love this show

  • This is why superheroes need to be animated; the chances finding a living guy who can wear the tights and NOT look like a dweeb are equal to the chances of The Flash's superpower circumstances (lab nerd + chance lightning = superspeedy guy) happening in real life!

  • @ztslovebird Well, this guy ALMOST pulled it off. I think it's the mask that just needs to be changed.

  • @TheZacula And the fact that he runs like a teenage girl who really hates the mile.

  • Of course, "No Ordinary Family" is now recycling every single Super Speed gag this show ever did.

  • I have this on dvd, love it

  • i used to watch it when i was 6 or 7 . now i am 25 and watchin it about 18 years . i just went into my childhood . thanx youtube

  • How did Wally West get his powers in that show?

  • @daamits you gets a thumbs down just for saying wally west, this shows start was barry allen wally's uncle and the first modern day flash after jay garrick.

he got his powers the same way as always, truck by lightening while being coated in chemicals

  • @daamits That's Barry Allen. Wally is the mechanic.

  • Loved this retro live action version of the costume.

  • As a kid I loved this show, but I bought the dvds a couple of years back and its incredibly dated and cheesy. The best episodes though were the ones with Captain Cold, Pollux (Barry's clone in a blue Flash suit) and the one where Barry ends up 10 years in the future.

  • era genial una de las mejores que he visto.

  • Check out PALADINM93 channel, he has the best Justice League videos EVER!!!

  • Opening is a total ripoff of Batman's theme.. I know it's the same guy, but that just makes it even more unoriginal..

  • I want to see a movie of Flash, with Grodd , Captain Boomerang or Captain Cold as the villians

  • @movisony4 Captain Cold was in the show for one episode. Cold was played by Michael Champion and he was an albino hitman hire to kill mob bosses and The Flash.

  • Pity. This fella would have made a great bruce wayne.

  • he was fuckin RIPPED in that suit

  • sounds A LOT like the batman animated series theme XD

  • sounds alittle like the batman theme

  • Man , I wish this it could of got a second season. It Really deserved it. Everybody I knew at school back in the day watched this show. The Gulf War coverage really did a big number on a lotta new shows back in the day.

  • im gonna have icecream i hope amanda pays...

  • Shipp voiced Professor Zoom on The Brave and The Bold.

  • i used to love this show!

  • yeah this is way better than smallville crap for sure. i remember when i was a kid watching this every nights at like 11pm. really great, absolute fun to watch. john wesley shipp is awesome man!

  • Great looking intro, although the music reminds me a little too much of the Michael Keaton Batman music. Not a bad thing, but not unique. I should look up the show.

  • @Deadmansparty2002

Danny Elfman made the main theme to the show. So that's kinda why. His sound was very popular in the early 90's.

  • @jayce79 The name does sound familiar, so I'm not surprised. But that's cool. Thanks for the info.

  • @jayce79

He also made the original Batman movie theme in 1989.

  • This show was to me the best comic book character tv show EVER!!!! sorry smallville. John Wesley Shipp was perfect for the The Flash, wonder what he's doing now. GREAT SHOW AND GREAT INTRO

  • This had the potential to be a good show.. ( although the Flash is a hard character to work with )... but clearly Danny Elfman got a bit lazy with the music...

Just pump out another batman theme.. no one will notice.

  • @Roper122 Danny Elfman said in the Batman music documantary that he goes for making music that fits the mood and scene rather than make a theme.

  • i miss this show why wont they bring it back to tv? this show hasnt been seen on tv since the 1980s

  • @captainamerica1965 1990s not 80s.

  • i actually met john wesley shipp(no joke) :^)

  • Dude, I'm watching this show as I type, and I fucking love it. It's such a well-crafted and fun show. Sure, it's a little too odd at points, but generally it's probably the best live action superhero show out there. "Smallville" doesn't come even close.

  • I wish this show lasted longer.

  • Man, I vaguely remember watching this show when I was like, 5. Now it comes across as a mixture of Beatty's Dick Tracey and Burton's Batman, with a little bit of Superman thrown in for good measure.

  • Sounds kinda like batman. I used to love this show.

  • ok there both dc comic charater but i think this theme suits batman more the flash should have a more livly song not dark and gloomy like batmans

  • LOL! Crotch shot at :56 and then a lighting flashes. Quite the emphasis, i might say.

  • next #1 DC comic movie could be The Flash!!

  • great show with a flash that isnt the crazy uber powerful thinng the comic character has morphed into.

  • I remember this show ripping off Burton's Batman big time. From the music to city with dark shades that's neither in the present nor the past(with modern tech, yet old cars). It was fun but not so great.

  • the score was done by the same person that did batman, thats why it sounds similar

  • @skinwalkerxxx I call bullshit. The music is similar, yes, but the city and settings? Burton's "Batman" was a gothic setting of everything being darkly crafted with the stealings of older city and material features. "The Flash", however, had a modernized 50s noir setting that mixed both current (for the 90s, at least) and classic settings. In fact, I'd say "The Flash" TV show was a million times better than Burton's bullshit "Batman" films.

  • @Nanaman12345 Don't you think the show "runners" of Flash didn't take Burton's 89 movie as example? Why do you think they got such a similar theme? How about this mix of current times and 30s or 50s settings? Didn't you watch the first Burton movie, guys wore trenchcoats and hats and the cars came from another era. The criminals were pure prohibition era gangsters. Flash used the same idea. But in a more cheap way. And like Burton's film it was always night in Flash.

  • This show was way ahead of its time

  • @darkblade1219

I see what you did there.

  • @HitParade Haha, ya know what......i wasnt REALLY tryin to mean it like that but, I will run with it

  • @darkblade1219 Personally I preferred this program to "Lois and Clark" though the First 2 seasons that show were good.,"Smallville" was darker and much better

Now "The Cape", showing on SyFy is very reminiscent of "The Flash"

  • Yeah, I remember this show. It was nice, and it sucked when it got canned.

  • Yeah , that was a shame I think the show had at least another great year too it. John Shipp was truley great casting.

  • it brings back my childhood fantasy.

  • major underated show. good acting, good stories, funny, clever, good effects for its time. smallville = the flash of the 2000s. wait, not quite, smallville is the flash's little brother

  • i love this show as a kid

  • ditto

  • Man I miss TV! I mean i still watch television. It's just that even with some of the good shows on now, it's just not what it use to be.

  • A show must better then Smallville. They should continue it. A great idea to the JLA movie.

  • @heartofzorro loved that show, but not even close to Smallville

  • One of the best intros ever.

  • To me, this and WONDER WOMAN are the 2 best superhero series of all time.

  • i dont think uve seen smallville.

  • I love SMALLVILLE, but like I said, to me no superhero series beats THE FLASH or WONDER WOMAN.

  • Comment removed

  • better than batman, superman, spider-man quite easily!

  • Didn't Danny Elfman do the music for this?

  • Comment removed

  • He at least did the theme.

  • Yes,..Danny composed this music

  • this series was one of the best i've seen! (well i has a choice between Superboy the series and The Flash, and i chose this, lol)

  • me gustaba esta serie..!!

  • Man, I love this show reguarly when it first came on tv. They really done the character perfectly compare to some superhero tv shows that were not true to the characters. It's a shame the show didn't last long with how promising it was from the beginning. I wish we could see Mirror Master, Captain Cold, etc. on the show. :(

  • Are you serious? The 1989 Batman movie is regarded by many as the best "Next Generation" Batman movies. And the Flashes adventures took part in the night around 90% of the time. Douche.

  • One of my favorites series!

  • The Flash is my favorite <3

  • this show was number one beating all extrats then it wa a tabloid issue that he was gay.

that long and stupid ago it did not matter if it was true it killed the show because of gay haters and bashers. they killed an awesome show on a rumer and still like almost 20 or more years its still ypour fault afraid to make it real

  • This is all news to me..my understanding of the shows cancellation came about for one it was EXPENSIVE and at first it was going up against NBC's JUGGERNAUT Thursday line up..there was some other reasons in their 2..but the ratings were low..that was the main reason it got cancelled..once the show got moved to Saturdays I pretty much new the end was near.

  • Yeah, I never heard the gay rumor. I do know CBS was not happy with the budget for the series and that was a major reason for its cancellation. It also did not help that they aired it on almost EVERY night of the week in its one season run, cannot get ratings when the show moves every other week. Being against COSBY and THE SIMPSONS was not an easy win either.

  • A very cool little tv series for The Flash back then.

  • awesome intro

  • Is there any movie about The Flash?

  • yes they were 3 with the same actor of the show, if i remember,u can try and find them

  • the 3 movies mentioned here were edited versions of episodes from the show. Try to get your hands on the Flash DVD set, it is one of the coolest things you can have in your collection, I still watch mine all the time..

  • What´s the name of the song please?!

  • While the Flash may not be as popular as Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman are to the general public, I think it's great he got his own TV series, even though it only lasted one season.

  • The quality of this video is not that good, but what a nice series this one was!! If you weren't around in the 90's, try to buy it and see for yourself how good it was!!!

  • Curious thing is that this series looked way better than many movies out there... man, I'd so wish for a couple more seasons

  • Wow and I thought I was the only one that remembers this. Loved the show as well. I soo want that costume as a prop. I wonder where the original is now. Any know please msg me.

  • tat theme song sounded soooooo batman

  • that's no surprise considering Danny Elfman composed both this theme and the one from the Batman movies late 80's-early 90's

  • We need to make a petition to have a new Flash live-action series on the CW.

  • No, they would just make another crappy show like Smallville.
