You don't have to put on a diplomatic front in this world although a lot of people don't realise that. Dizzee was real which is more than most people. He doesn't care for the beaurocracy and neither do I
i have to agree with pickaslut... dizzee is who he is, it was his opinion not no one elses, an why must he be more eloquant? dlfunky, "why couldn't craig david have done this?" uhh, because they asked dizzee. thats why
I'm not sure Craig quite got Dizzee's response to the "how about you run for PM ?" question - I thought he was being quite sweet in sharing a half joke with paxman - he also showed considerably more courtesy than I've seen in most interviewees with Paxman - wouldn't it have seemed more arrogant for him to have said "I think that's a very good idea, Jeremy, I'll start campaigning immediately" in a serious tone ?
white people seem to forget that americans and australians and south africans are immigrants there, but when a black person born in uk can't call himself british then what right do whites in america etc have the right to call themselves american? fact is the white race is always seen as indigenous when in fact they are not, its okay for a white american and australian to call others immigrant when in fact they are the biggest immigrant land stealers on earth
Honestly, I watched the interview and didn't think Paxam's questions were racist. Maybe they were, maybe not. But even if they were, Dizzee's ingnorance far outshone anything else.
It's so hard for the average black or brown skinned person to escape the prejudice. And rappers like Dizzee and other mainstream artists need to know they have a responsibility.
Dizzee Rascal sounded like the Soulja Boy the UK in that interview.
Dizzee may have let the side down, but Paxman also let his side down by being the stereotypical racist, condescending, angry old white man. Craig was cowardly there by not calling him out on this, even as he was so at ease with calling Dizzee out on perpetuating stereotypes. Craig did not sound smart at all; in fact, he just perpetuauted yet another stereotype: that of Black political capitulation. Would Paxman have asked Russell Brand if he considered himself British? "Out of context" my ass.
WHY THE HELL DID NEWSNITGH NOT INVITE CRAIG DAVID INSTEAD OF DIZZEE THE RASCAL??? I didn't like Craig David's music very much but he is articulate and knows how to give diplomatic and smart answers. By saying "Dizzee was being Dizzee" me means "Dizee was being an idiot and embarrassing us all as usual!" . I aggree with you Mr Craid David. Next time just call a spade a spade.
I agree with you but we have to be careful not to patronize people. I came from the same area as dizzee & faced the same kind of poverty. Being articulate is not the exclusively for the middle classes-he could have been articulate using street slang...
I feel Dizzie Rascal didnt take the interview as seriously as he should of, he was using terminology you would expect to hear in a youth hostel, not from an established brtish artist, in the same breath am finding it hard to think of an alternative young black, british representive.

Listen to JayZ's or Kanye Wests interviews on obama...they sound intelligent even tho they were raised in slums!
Dizzee needs to learn how to have a serious interview!!!

I so agree. There are many more black people in the media spotlight who are more articulate than Dizzee...

possibly, but i think he made some valid points- represented young black men and held his own against paxman.
