Lots of perseverance, lol. Jake's not been an easy dog. We've attended dog training classes since he was a puppy & it's taken a good couple of years to get him to where I want him to be. He works really well for food though so that always helps to get him focused and ready to train. Try and make everything fun with lots of rewards (food, playing with a toy etc.) but be also be firm and consistent with what you want. Take things a step at a time - don't expect too much too soon.
