First of all. Nobody knows how Allende died for sure. all they know is that his head was blown off. And if Pinochet was supported by the people, then why did he need a coup to come to power. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Allende elected. And wasn't Pinochet responsible for at least 150,000 murders.

Ask yourself this question: who set up DINA Pinochet or Allende? It was Allende. Pinochet did kill some people, but unlike Castro he gave up power and allowed open elections.

No! Castro visited Allende a couple of times. But under circumstances that involved threats against their national security. When you read from recorded statements that your country is targeted for attack and seizure of your government to put minorities on a board with proven self serving interests it's time to meet with close neighbors and reliable powers to protect you especially if they belong to your region of the world then you could also create a Union like the Europeans in E.U.

Castro and his supporters won and the opposition continued in their threats on the liberators life so those great numbers were thrown out of the country unless they would have settled for surrendering their lives it seems life was back then a better choice. Allende was taken out of office by the Armed Forces since the House of Deputies had concluded in a vote that passed 81 to 47 that Allende had 20 solid violations of the constitution.

The Armed Forces needed a coup to come to power because Allende wasn't giving up his power to the people as the House of Deputies had asked after his 20 violations of the constitution. The Armed Forces asked him many times to hand the power but he resisted and thats why the coup took place. Also Allende broke the Chilean Democracy well before the coup.
