@ecc012 Thanks! I really wanted to avoid exactly that "usual face shot" for my project. It's much harder the way I do it, because I have to line myself up perfectly everyday, but I think it's worth it.

I grew that beard for about 7 years believe it or not. I even saved it for some odd reason. I'm in the process of growing it back now, but I forgot how annoying it can be. It's about half-way there now. Check the 3yr. update in video responses if you haven't already.

@palkers Check my other videos. I put out the first version of this 2 years ago, and i'll be posting a new version in September for the 3 year mark. No one can grow their hair that much in a few days or weeks. The photos all have electronic date stamps for when they were taken. The mohawks, tattoo and photos from my road trip cross country have multiple shots for those days, but this would be harder to fake than it is to actually do it.

However, I stand with my original statement that your kind of video can be done in the course of a few weeks, starting with a fully bearded guy (with long hair). All that would've been left to do would be to come up with a script and a perfect execution of it (I can see an ad company doing with ease).

Wow. How many photos did you take every day for the same position on pictures? I tried it, but I never had my head in right angle... maybe one from fifty photos.

@RadekPriborsky That's a good question. I went over the photos to get you an accurate answer. I've had 3 days with this main camera where I did multiple photos for one day. The mohawk, the tattoo, and another mohawk which you'll have to wait until august (the 3 year mark) to see.

For the mohawks, I took 29 and 31 photos. The tattoo took 294 photos. I was only able to use about 120 of them, so I posted the "time lapse tattoo" video as a full version of that.

@RadekPriborsky As for lining yourself up, it can be very hard to get it right. It took me a few months before I got good at it. I'm using my computer's camera, so I'll keep the mouse in my lap to take photos, so I don't move as much. I'll also end up taking multiple shots and deleting bad ones until I'm in just the right spot. It takes a lot of patience. I've also used another type of camera, where I used photoshop to line up the photos perfectly. Both ways are very time consuming.

@rolcsipa Thanks. It took me almost 8 months before I started that. It makes it easier to remember certain dates in my life, too. I'm always finding little things to add or improve. I also added lighting as I went along. I use 7 lights now to keep the shots more consistent.
