Is it fair to use photographs and portaits to really describe an entire era that spanned 1837-1901? The period was so multi-layered in every way and not just full of things that are pretty to look at. A little explanation behind your choice of images would have maybe made it more clear what you were trying to say. Other than that, it seems like you just have a collection of interesting pictures that you scanned.
