Ok i would like to make this discussion more civilized. My name may be deceiving because i actually agree with Paul on a number of issues, I just think people should look into the other side. The Fed does have problems. They over produce money, but rather than getting rid of it i think we should fix the root of the problem and that is in underestimated CPI statistics. The gold standard is a bad idea, but that is a different topic.

CPI statistics are inaccurate because they don't include such products as gas. The inflation rate is then underestimated causing the Fed to print more money under the illusion of a stable inflation rate (about 2%). If CPI were calculated the right way it would show the true inflation rate and less money would be printed.

basically you are saying that they are flooding the market with more cash, and that CPI is not counting everything that we pay for thus making it seem like the value of the dollar is still strong hence the steady or low inflation rate? maybe the fed doesnt want the CPI to be correct, kinda like when the got away from the M3 I dont think they want people to know how flooded the market is and that the dollar is so deflated that it would spin heads.

The Bureau of Labor Statistics calculates the CPI. Its hard to explain how exactly they do it, but i can definitely tell you that the way it is calculated has changed. Again i'm not purposing this as an absolute solution to inflation, but it is in my opinion a leading cause.

The real way to get the job done is to join the republican party so you can vote for Ron Paul. That way he WILL become the republican nominee. When that happens he can become president. Any action without you first joining the republican party so that you can participate in the republican nomination vote is utterly and entirely worthless.
