this whole punctuation thing i understood it i really got into it and as I am writing this i must say it really makes sense to me you know you should really try that out people keep telling me my music is awesome for my punctuation
Another great video like always, I was wondering about taking lessons from you (maybe try and get some as bday presents since Im a poor college kid =P) but my webcam suck at picking up my amp. I do own an audix i5 though just my interface doesn't put out enough power so do you think if I get a new interface and mic up that it will be sufficient for lessons from you? Thanks
o yea also love the acoustic song snipet at the start how much is your album im tempted too buy it =] also your and incredibly versitle guiatrist very refreshing watching u play =] and inspirational
lol man your awsome love it when u brang in the phrasing really feelin it lol and when u said let the listeners digest it =] so true this video has been very insightful too watch thanks
u know ive noticed when dave and guitar tuition guys on youtube they basically talk too themselves the whole time but dam dave makes it feel like a real lesson i mean dosent it get awkward talking too you camera for 5 10 15 minutes =] anyways man good job
I really think the riff sounds better without the root note i.e. ending on G# instead. Just my liking for phrygian or do others agree?
On a related note, I think a 4th helpful thing which relates to phrasing is learning to think of linking phrases, like a paragraph with each phrase as a sentence. Not every phrase needs to round of or completely finish an idea. It can be nice for it to leave an open idea for the next phrase to continue from.
i wonder , what's your practice schedule ? 'cause i try hard , but i don't know if playing 3hr straight with metronome is the best way to improve . sure , it's great , but it takes lots of courage ... so i take breaks , but ... i'd love to know how do you practise .
Dave, another great Lesson..Could you do one on "Structuring a Practice Routine" in the future as this would be very useful..ie Warm Ups,Technique, rhythm, scale etc etc. Thanks
Man, that blues jam was killer. The upcoming record sounds great too.
I only started watching rotw recently, but I'm quickly becoming a big fan of Dave. Haven't heard an instrumental guitarist with such musicality since Satriani.

Hey Dave) Nice ROTW! I wanted to thank you for your online private lessons. You have helped to eliminate a lot of bad habits I have been struggling with for years. If anybody is considering taking lessons from Dave don't hesitate. He is an awesome teacher and can help take your playing to the next level. Best money I ever spent! Thanx again Dave Ken
Hi Dave, Just had a thought as i was watching your vid. What type of strings do you use? Not really looking for a brand so much but thinking more about guage of string,
great lesson Dave. almost seems as though this topic is overlooked far too much for such an important aspect of music. glad you touched base on it,, also very happy to hear you speak about how blues is the best spot to start off with for building up these skills.
finally, the intro track this week sounds incredible, can't wait to purchase your upcoming cd.
you have inspired me more then most teachers who actually get me discouraged more often than not.
Dave what's the key in your back? Is it a midi or a regular with synth?
And great lesson as usual!! .. I cannot buy your album in my country, I don't think it's been released down here. I will ask my sis to get it for me from usa! you rock man!
That guitar looks really nice up close! I wasn't the biggest fan of it but seeing it up close lets me really see the grain. Looks great! Can't wait to see your PRS 7 string.
nice delay or Reverb ;)
