I have had type 2 diabetes for 8 years now and I have to take two insulin shots a day along with two different pills for my sugar. I'm like you I have never been much on sweets but I loved pasta, potatoes, beans, corn, and rice, all of which are loaded with carbs as well as bread. You're right, diabetes is a very dangerous disease and until they find a cure about all you can do is treat it with medication and try to eat healthy. I wish you luck. :-)
