  • Not NEARLY as good as the "Tage's" version....Jon knocked this song out of the park...

  • @sherrielorea

So true... Kind of lost the emotion and power.

  • @Wikkid666 Yep...you're right..not nearly up to par...

I actually saw them for the first time 11-14-2011 in Lubbock, Texas..and was the only person in the arena wearing a SAVATAGE T-Shirt..When Johnny Lee was introduced I stood up(only about 20 ft. from the stage)and screamed SAVATAGE!

He looked...and seeing my shirt.. pointed me out to Angus and they both smiled and waved...it made my night!....

and you know... I think it might have made his night too..heh...heh...

    great memory..

  • I "believe" I'm going to puke. This guy's voice would be more appropriate for a band like Meshuggah, but he obviously wouldn't be comfortable in front of kids; they'd see him for the poser he is. He might as well stick to the Bay area and milk his feigned interest in the Haight- Ashbury period.

  • @shazeef1

Did Tim still your wife or something? or are you just a Tim hating troll? I love the fact at how may times you looked around and posted how much you hate him. Rather pathetic

  • @Wikkid666 I love the fact that you cruised Tim's clips and saw my other posts, is that you, Tim? If not, you must know him since you said, "Did Tim still your wife or something?". I'm assuming you meant steal but I suppose you could have meant stiff, same difference, but alas, this did not happen, I just know him for the phony he is. He should have stuck with being a TromBONER.

  • This guy sucks huge, but of course there is only one jon olivia, and that said there will ever only be one savatage. the 80s missed the best banger band on the planet, except for the intelligent bangers like us, savatage nation.

  • Good god what the hell?i am am a Savatage fan from 86'.this sounds like a guy who ate 12 glass cocks and then 12 real cocks ..what the fuck?????

  • This is a beautiful song but I prefer Jon singing it over anyone. Jon is amazing.

  • I adore Tim's version. Jon himself let him sing it so for sure he loves his voice. This song must be very important for Jon and I think he wouldn't let it be sung by everyone. Tim is a wonderful singer. However, I understand people who prefer the original version. But I am in love with Tim's voice.

  • @9891Cassandra

Jon really didn't have much say in it.

  • @Wikkid666 Please, don't tell me that it's Paul again=/ But still I think that it was an excellent idea.

  • Savatage is Savatage. Believe is Savatage. Savatage rules ever but this version is horrible. I don't like this singer (Kim Carnes Brother) = Berry White+kim carnes.

dead ballad rock = 20 bpm. Savatage, Criss Oliva (rip) i miss you!

  • @roggeriocsouza

I like Tim's voice... I'm not a huge fan of the slower tempo of this version. And no, there isn't way to match the original.

  • @roggeriocsouza camon! this version is fantastic! the singer has a beautiful voice is spectacular! savatage are savatage but trans-siberian orchestra are awesome!

  • no u need jon olivia singing this but the band covered this good

  • Ok I'm 13 as in Criss Oliva passed away before I was even born but whenever i hear this song I think of how he died and I start crying cause not only did it end his life but it had a huge impact on SAVATAGE. I'm actually thinking of getting a tattoo when I'm older that says "I'll be right there I'll never leave and all I ask of you believe" with a rose in between some of the words and it says "Criss Oliva 63-93" because of this song

  • This is a powerful song, it claws deep into my heart, impressive job!

  • RIP Chris Oliva! SAVATAGE FOREVER!!

  • what happened to zach stevens?

  • @550JB

When and if there is another Savatage tour... Zak will be the singer. As of right now he has his own band Circle II Circle. And another project with Jeff on drums called Machines of Grace.

  • @Wikkid666 I didn't realize Zak wasn't the original vocalist for this song. Apparently it was Jon Oliva.

  • @550JB Zak is touring with his own band Circle II Circle, they are in the Chicago area quite a bit. In the next few weeks they will be heading over to Europe to do festivals. I've had the privilege of hanging out with him a few times. Really really nice guy.

  • One of the greatest of many incredible Savatage tunes!

  • After seeing them live yesterday here in Ottawa Ontario Canada, this song is added to my list of favourites. What a show can't wait to see them again next year!!!

  • R.I.P CRISS OLIVA!!! WE MISS YOU.

  • Easily one of my To Five fav TSO songs. Brilliant.

  • @SashaDaae

Easily one of my favorite Savatage songs

  • Not the same thing without Jon Oliva !!

  • Cat. I'm a kitty cat. And I dance dance dance and I dance dance dance.

  • @drummerkat9

You are something... cat isn't it

  • Speed the tempo up just a little bit to get to studio recording speed.

  • awesome cover..

  • This song speaks volumes to the soul.

  • This guy sounds like a fucking lion. He's not singing. He's letting loose his emotions through roars of his inner beast. >:[

  • Rejoice TSO fans. Night Castle finally came out then they finally did spring Beethoven tour. Now last night at Dallas show they had camera crew filming them and Paul O'neill said it would be a live DVD-something TSO fans have been dying for. Was great show! O'Neill, Oliva, Petrelli are genius!

  • Credit: Jon Oliva

  • Be it TSO or be it Savatage....

They are both different names for the same thing.

    Excellence!

  • TSO or Savatage. One is The Other. Either name the go by, their still GREAT.

  • Simply Put: The best rock ballad ever created, made, written> PERIOD! Nothing can even come close to it! Unbeleivable, Savatage truly deserves to be recognized in these times for not getting the credit they deserve and pry made some of the most influential lyrics and music that could be relatively compared to a Jim Steinman, Pink Floyd, Andrew Loyd Weber, Led Zepplin! It truly is a crying shame!

  • this is good cover but with jon oliva in vocals are a lot better...

please jon make a SAVATAGE reunion!!!

  • That pretty much is Savatage on the stage. It's Savatage with a different vocalist.

Chris, Johnny, Jeff, and Alex (was in Sava).

And no worries... Savatage is returning this year. New Best Of and re-release of Poets... and maybe even a new album... which all could lead to a tour.

  • not really cause Al is still with West and i have seen East

  • Wikkid666 for real I hope so I been hopeing for a savatage reunion for a long time. But it just seems it will never happen

  • @Wikkid666 unfortunately i dont thing that savatage will reunite in the future...Jon tells that in every interview he gives and thats so sad...WE WANT SAVATAGE BACK!!!

  • @Wikkid666 I wish Sav would do a reunion tour. Oliva says JOP is the closest that we'll get to Savatage now-a-days. Unfortunately, JOP isn't that great.

  • @Wikkid666 We want Savatage Savatage, not Trans Savatage. No disrespect intended.

  • i totally think the vocals Tim puts down is better. i love him but tim's vocals are amazing in my opinion

  • What is the name of the singer of this one? I've heard the Savatage version (with Jon Oliva on vocals) and this guys voice makes the song. I saw TSO in Hamilton on Dec 29 and was absolutely blown away.

  • Tim Hockenberry

  • Tim Hockenberry

  • I was at the Lexington show last week. I must admit that I knew nothing of this show. I expected an "orchestra" performance and I got so much more. Best of all, this song- so beautiful and moving. I am a new fan....

  • This was my favorite part of the whole show<33333333(:

  • Me, too! I was so touched by this performance- that raspy voice was perfect for the lyrics... just beautiful!

  • Great video, better than the ones from this year's tour, thanks! I saw them last night, love this song so much. TSO is the BEST.

  • I was at the afternoon show

  • I love this band! And this song sooo much. I saw them live also last week :)

  • I love this song! Between the lyrics, the music and the singing, it makes me cry like a baby.

  • BRING BACK SAVATAGE!!!!!!!

  • I couldn't agree more!!!!

  • Again and again, we all Miss Savatage golden years, please Jon, bring back you ever greatest creation, for the memory of those who falls in the way, and for all of us who loves your music, support forever!

  • Savatage no longer belongs to Jon... Paul owns the the rights. With no go ahead from Paul it can't happen.

  • Maybe Paul own the rights, But Savatage doesn´t works without the Jon Oliva´s stuff, he is the heart and soul in the band, and only he could perform again a such great band, I wish they join again, and always remember their early years with great love.

  • Well do you honestly think that Paul would hold something like that back?

  • Absolutely! He is a very hands on guy...

  • MY DREAM..!

  • A song that sends chills down my spine and has a message of hope-just believe in Jesus. He is always there. Always. Thank you TSO and Savatage, for this song. R.I.P. Criss

  • good call.

  • Incredible song! Great song showing that God is ALWAYS there regardless of the circumstances in your life!

  • Who wouldn't absolutly LOVE THIS SONG?!? If you dont sory but U have bad taste

  • i love this song i wish i hade the CD for this even if i didnt like any of the other songs on it, it would still be worth it! oh last night saw this guy sing at the Nutter Center and IT AWS AWSUM!!! XD

  • Tim Hockenberry is the man. God, I miss Savatage.

  • Undoubtedly talking about Jesus... I love it.

  • More specifically, DT Jesus.

  • lol, EXACTLY!! The interviews on my page, Jon Oliva says it's really about DT believing in HIMSELF.....and suggesting that we all do the same for ourselves. But it can be interpreted however one wants, even if ppl want it to be about religion.

  • I discovered Savatage about five years ago, and I'm sorry I hadn't sooner. I love all of their albums, but "Believe" is undoubtedly the most powerful, passionate, and emotionally uplifting song I've ever heard. Props to TSO for giving this song the justice it deserves. RIP Criss.

  • Best song ever!

  • that is the best TSO song ever rock on TSO and SAVATAGE

  • Just amazing! I get goose bumps everytime I hear this!

  • Savatage is one of the few bands out there... that are able to give me goose bumps! One of the GREATEST songs ever!

  • I've seen them a few times (got to meet Jon Oliva at one of them) and I agree with you! They actually give me goose bumps too, just amazing song writing. And seeing TSO live doesn't exactly suck either.

  • Unbelievable perfomance!

  • GODAMN! THAT WAS GOOD

  • This song is perfect. A song with which all we have grown and we longed for. Faithful reflection of our interior.

Savatage is one of the best bands than exists and it will exist.

  • I love the way TSO did this song. It's almost spiritual in a way. It's the best they've done so far. Thanks for posting it.

  • Has TSO ever done Gutter Ballet, that would be a major metal orgasm!!!

  • No! but you are right that would be GREAT!

    They have only done...

    Chrismas Eve

    Believe

    Prelude to Madness

    Heal My Soul

    and Back to A Reason

I'm sure there will be many more in the future! because Savatage is the GREATEST band ever!

  • Who sang this? He has a great voice.

  • Tim Hockenberry

  • I love this song. First time I heard it was a few days before the show when I was scoping out what the tour would be like this year. Never disappointing!

  • I've beem listening to this song for over 17 years... and I still love it!

  • Best song ever. Alex did a great job on the solo too.

  • This was a great show. Too bad I forgot my sunglasses! Thanks for posting.

  • LOL! I know... it got pretty crazy there for a while.

  • even though i didnt know this song before they performed this i was choked up. im very glad they did the memorial songs for those that have fallen. thanks for posting this

  • Thanks for posting this Wikkid! I was 2 seats over from you on the right and saw you film this - was wondering if you'd post it here - amazingly powerful performance!

  • GREAT SONG! from the greatest band in the world.... SAVATAGE!

  • Great quality.

  • Was at that show 2nd row dead center, it was awsome.

  • I was just a couple rows behind you then! \m/
