@Wikkid666 Yep...you're right..not nearly up to par...
I actually saw them for the first time 11-14-2011 in Lubbock, Texas..and was the only person in the arena wearing a SAVATAGE T-Shirt..When Johnny Lee was introduced I stood up(only about 20 ft. from the stage)and screamed SAVATAGE!
He looked...and seeing my shirt.. pointed me out to Angus and they both smiled and waved...it made my night!....
and you know... I think it might have made his night too..heh...heh...
I "believe" I'm going to puke. This guy's voice would be more appropriate for a band like Meshuggah, but he obviously wouldn't be comfortable in front of kids; they'd see him for the poser he is. He might as well stick to the Bay area and milk his feigned interest in the Haight- Ashbury period.
Did Tim still your wife or something? or are you just a Tim hating troll? I love the fact at how may times you looked around and posted how much you hate him. Rather pathetic
@Wikkid666 I love the fact that you cruised Tim's clips and saw my other posts, is that you, Tim? If not, you must know him since you said, "Did Tim still your wife or something?". I'm assuming you meant steal but I suppose you could have meant stiff, same difference, but alas, this did not happen, I just know him for the phony he is. He should have stuck with being a TromBONER.
This guy sucks huge, but of course there is only one jon olivia, and that said there will ever only be one savatage. the 80s missed the best banger band on the planet, except for the intelligent bangers like us, savatage nation.
I adore Tim's version. Jon himself let him sing it so for sure he loves his voice. This song must be very important for Jon and I think he wouldn't let it be sung by everyone. Tim is a wonderful singer. However, I understand people who prefer the original version. But I am in love with Tim's voice.
Savatage is Savatage. Believe is Savatage. Savatage rules ever but this version is horrible. I don't like this singer (Kim Carnes Brother) = Berry White+kim carnes.
dead ballad rock = 20 bpm. Savatage, Criss Oliva (rip) i miss you!
@roggeriocsouza camon! this version is fantastic! the singer has a beautiful voice is spectacular! savatage are savatage but trans-siberian orchestra are awesome!
Ok I'm 13 as in Criss Oliva passed away before I was even born but whenever i hear this song I think of how he died and I start crying cause not only did it end his life but it had a huge impact on SAVATAGE. I'm actually thinking of getting a tattoo when I'm older that says "I'll be right there I'll never leave and all I ask of you believe" with a rose in between some of the words and it says "Criss Oliva 63-93" because of this song
When and if there is another Savatage tour... Zak will be the singer. As of right now he has his own band Circle II Circle. And another project with Jeff on drums called Machines of Grace.
@550JB Zak is touring with his own band Circle II Circle, they are in the Chicago area quite a bit. In the next few weeks they will be heading over to Europe to do festivals. I've had the privilege of hanging out with him a few times. Really really nice guy.

After seeing them live yesterday here in Ottawa Ontario Canada, this song is added to my list of favourites. What a show can't wait to see them again next year!!!
Rejoice TSO fans. Night Castle finally came out then they finally did spring Beethoven tour. Now last night at Dallas show they had camera crew filming them and Paul O'neill said it would be a live DVD-something TSO fans have been dying for. Was great show! O'Neill, Oliva, Petrelli are genius!
Simply Put: The best rock ballad ever created, made, written> PERIOD! Nothing can even come close to it! Unbeleivable, Savatage truly deserves to be recognized in these times for not getting the credit they deserve and pry made some of the most influential lyrics and music that could be relatively compared to a Jim Steinman, Pink Floyd, Andrew Loyd Weber, Led Zepplin! It truly is a crying shame!
That pretty much is Savatage on the stage. It's Savatage with a different vocalist.
Chris, Johnny, Jeff, and Alex (was in Sava).
And no worries... Savatage is returning this year. New Best Of and re-release of Poets... and maybe even a new album... which all could lead to a tour.
@Wikkid666 unfortunately i dont thing that savatage will reunite in the future...Jon tells that in every interview he gives and thats so sad...WE WANT SAVATAGE BACK!!!
@Wikkid666 I wish Sav would do a reunion tour. Oliva says JOP is the closest that we'll get to Savatage now-a-days. Unfortunately, JOP isn't that great.
What is the name of the singer of this one? I've heard the Savatage version (with Jon Oliva on vocals) and this guys voice makes the song. I saw TSO in Hamilton on Dec 29 and was absolutely blown away.
I was at the Lexington show last week. I must admit that I knew nothing of this show. I expected an "orchestra" performance and I got so much more. Best of all, this song- so beautiful and moving. I am a new fan....
Again and again, we all Miss Savatage golden years, please Jon, bring back you ever greatest creation, for the memory of those who falls in the way, and for all of us who loves your music, support forever!
Maybe Paul own the rights, But Savatage doesn´t works without the Jon Oliva´s stuff, he is the heart and soul in the band, and only he could perform again a such great band, I wish they join again, and always remember their early years with great love.
A song that sends chills down my spine and has a message of hope-just believe in Jesus. He is always there. Always. Thank you TSO and Savatage, for this song. R.I.P. Criss
i love this song i wish i hade the CD for this even if i didnt like any of the other songs on it, it would still be worth it! oh last night saw this guy sing at the Nutter Center and IT AWS AWSUM!!! XD
lol, EXACTLY!! The interviews on my page, Jon Oliva says it's really about DT believing in HIMSELF.....and suggesting that we all do the same for ourselves. But it can be interpreted however one wants, even if ppl want it to be about religion.
I discovered Savatage about five years ago, and I'm sorry I hadn't sooner. I love all of their albums, but "Believe" is undoubtedly the most powerful, passionate, and emotionally uplifting song I've ever heard. Props to TSO for giving this song the justice it deserves. RIP Criss.
I've seen them a few times (got to meet Jon Oliva at one of them) and I agree with you! They actually give me goose bumps too, just amazing song writing. And seeing TSO live doesn't exactly suck either.
I love this song. First time I heard it was a few days before the show when I was scoping out what the tour would be like this year. Never disappointing!
