It looks like oatmeal to me. I would never have thought of using onions. Was that butter I saw with the sliced onions that she didn't use? What was in that bottle she used a dash of and put with the oil? I live in France, where oatmeal seems to be perceived of as a kind of punishment, but I've always liked it, and it makes a good breading for fresh fried okra. I would eat this porridge for breakfast -- why not?
I loooove oatmeal, both salty and sweet...it's such a filling yet light start of the day or a dessert at any time!
