@Overhazard Yes theres something wrong at 1:13 persian is on low hp and instead of finishing it off u focus on togekiss. Remember as long as a pokemon is alive its still a threat, no matter how small. U won congratz but its like u was waiting for burn or perish song to kill persian. Even 1 burn/poison effect away from dying is a chance to let the enemy put up defences e.g light screen, switch in a fresh pokemon or even attack.
Like persian used hypnosis on mawhile and attacked celebi. see?
@faithfulmonkey There is also such a thing as priority. Togekiss is always a highly dangerous Pokémon. It's got Serene Grace and nice stats in everything but physical Attack. In addition, this Togekiss had Roost, so you can't leave it alone.
If I attacked Persian, Togekiss would've proceeded to clobber Mawile and I would've lost the battle. By this point, I already knew what Persian was up to and I knew it had run out of tricks. Its physical Attack has been destroyed.
maybe they werent afraid of Mawile but not scared of it at all. you know get rid of the harder pokemon instead of waisting time on mawile. I'm only guessing though. Not that i think mawile is bad but it's pretty underrated.
I respect you because you are not afraid to lose most of the people I battle turns off their game and say they beat me. Let alone, my Absol runs through people who ev trains with one Sucker Punch at a time
They haven't beaten you if they disconnect a match before it's over. There's no penalty for losing in Pokémon Battle Revolution, so there's absolutely no point in disconnecting.
Roost negates the Flying-type of the user (if it's Flying-type in the first place) until the next time its turn comes by. Togekiss became a pure Normal-type when Focus Punch hit.
I post a comment on one of your battles and that nicknamme I had, isn't my real nickname. When I saw some of the other people battle earlier like last year, I thought some were bad but some are really good like AngeloBlaze battles, ATreecko battles, XSonic the HedgeHog Battles and yours and I will keep watching them. One question, WHY DID YOU LOSE SOME OF YOUR BATTLES BECAUSE THAT SHOULD NOT HAPPEN
I make mistakes, just like everybody else. The difference between me and some YouTube uploaders, however, is that I'm honest and show the mistakes I've done.
There are plenty where I lose. For some reason, they don't show up on the searches as well as the ones where I win. So the ones with high view counts get even higher while the rest get stuck in the dirt.
if that togekiss had aura sphere, it should have just attacked instead of roosting. maybe it did have aura sphere as its 4th move but why didn't he use it?
yeah i agree, i tried a choice specs one and it worked really well! it has 252 sp. attack evs, 252 speed and 6 hp. knows tri attack, air slash, aura sphere and flamethrower.
I have another, and this one gets tiresome REAL fast. Shadow force, Annoying how it can bypass protect and detect. Another is solarbeam. It takes two turns to charge in the rain.
I've noticed a few moves that have hidden side effects too. For instance the move dig. If you use dig, earthquake will still hit (if not does it do more damage?). Also the move fly. Thunder hits hard when flying pokemon use this. What other moves have hidden effects?
My togekiss is a tank, it knows shock wave, fly, ancient power and aura sphere very good battle u got lucky with mawhile against tokekiss cuz of the aura shere he was planning
Fly is generally a not so good move. On Togekiss, a special attacker, it is a very bad idea. Consider revising this.
Why wouldn't you have Air Slash on there? And if your Togekiss is a tank, it makes sense for it to have roost. After all, you want your tanks to stay in play as long as possible, no?
Finally, Ancient Power and Shock Wave have very limited power, and Togekiss learns a TON of other things.
I figure when a person posts that sort of thing, they're looking for comments on the Pokemon.
Hiyo's team could be a secret 9th gym leader in the 5th gen games, or something. It was definetly of gym-worthy quality! Your teams woudl be good too. The Brooke pass would be a nice water gym.
I think that Togekiss doesn't have a attack move against steel-type pokemon. That's why he doesn't want to attack your Mawile. Your opponent did a couple of mistakes, but still this battle ended up good and one of the best off of all your matches. :)
I used to call Focus Punch, "Falcon Punch," because it reminds me of how Captain Falcon charges up the energy in his fist to release a powerful punch briefly afterwards. The same applies to Focus Punch, except that the Pokemon uses the move and not Captain Falcon.
AMAZING match! Although there were 2 things that confused me:
1. Driftblim outran Celebi (?!?!?)
2. What was with all those critical hits PErsian landed!? He landed like 3 critical hits in a row with Night Slash. I thought it had a 12.5% chance of that.
Drifblim has the Unburden Ability, which doubles its Speed when it loses its hold item. Drifblim can outurn pretty much anything but Ninjask like this.
Night Slash has a high chance of a critical hit, and the probability of three in a row certainly isn't zero.
Phew. That was intense. Great battle on both sides, and very nice prediction there at the end.
Mawile is solid Steel. It's too bad for your opponent that she wasn't out when Machamp was. Getting rid of Machamp when you did was perfect, and Perish Song caused him to lose the stat boosts. Wigglytuff was a good choice for this match.
I was worried for Sableye. He just couldn't hit anything. It must be tough when he's up against multiple Normal-types like that, but you pulled it off! Bravo!
Oh, and AncientPower and Water Pulse will almost NEVER do more damage than a STAB Psychic or Energy ball, due to their low Base Powers.
Other Special options on Celebi worth considering include Earth Power, Signal Beam, Shadow Ball, Leaf Storm, Charge Beam, Hyper Beam, or if you feel like being daring, Trick.
I mean, why don't you want to use the tutors? Just the annoyance of asking?
Your fanbase is legion. Abuse your power a bit, hehe.
In all seriousness though, at least Shadow Ball is just a TM, so that would be usable.
Your current moveset hits everything except Dialga for at least neutral. Replacing Ancientpower with Shadow Ball would add only 2 pokemon to that list: Shiftry and Cacturne. I'm sure I sound pushy, so apologies for that. Just... throwing the idea out there.
Because it's time consuming and very inconvenient. I also don't want to feel like a burden to anybody.
I had intended to change Water Pulse into Shadow Ball for a long time now, but man, Shadow Ball is an expensive TM. Perhaps I'll bring one in from Pokémon XD, where I have enough Poké Coupons to buy them by the armful.
Of course, AncientPower is a level-up move on Celebi, which I can always revert with a Heart Scale if I find it's not as effective as I'd hope.
If you change a move, leave Water Pulse, that way you get the steel coverage.
Blah, Celebi's movepool is really shallow for a legendary.
I wish I had the alternate hacking system where you could just go into the game and change the pokemon without making a new one from scratch, I would be delighted.
Se la vie.
Oh, and another thing. I could NOT believe your bad luck with Will-O-Wisp. Dear lord, I've never seen it miss so much. Whatever.
Well, that is the risk you take when a move does not have 100% accuracy: it will sometimes miss. However, for all the times that it HAS hit, Overhazard might consider this being the 20% miss rate catching up with her.
And at the risk of being pedantic, it's "C'est la vie," not "Se la vie."
Wow, I saw Togekiss versus Mawile and I almost stopped watching, thinking you had no chance.
I figured they didnt go after Mawile simply because it was sleeping, and therefore posed no threat.
Ok, so the moveset is Nasty Plot, Air Slash, and Roost. I wonder what in the world the last one could have been? I thought all Togekiss carried Aura Sphere...
I don't think U-Turn would've done any better than Night Slash on Celebi, Burn + Indimidate made Persian worthless as a physical attacker, they might even be pleased getting rid of it. Only a critical hit might've knocked out Celebi, so Night Slash was the best choice, since he wouldn't risk any damage to be done on Togekiss as well.
? i thought Fighting type pokemon didn't k.o. a Flying pokemon... i mean togekiss is normal/flying. if a fighting move hits it will be just effective right?
I already knew about that side effect. I was using my Charizard at the Battle Tower, and it used Roost against an Aerodactyl. It then used Earthquake, and Charizard got KO'd. I was like "WTF!"
incredible battle good thing you found out his weak point sometimes is hard to find your opponent's weakness since at times you never battle that certain person before
and sometimes the battle gets so long that you might even forget certain ideas from an opponent but still it depends cant wait to see your 8th battle pass.
A match I had a long time ago featured a Regice with an Apicot Berry...it was so annoying, since it used Rest right afterward and I ran out of physical attackers.
wow, I never knew that Roost took away the Pokemon's Flying-type completely; I thought it only made them vulnerable to ground type moves. That was really amazing :0

I've got a few:
Using "Defense Curl" doubles the power of "Rollout" if it's used right after.
"Sacred Fire" or "Fire Spin" automatically thaws you out of ice.
"Whirlwind" also works on flying Pok'e Mon.
"Moonlight" restores more health in the sunlight.
"Leech Seed" absorbs more HP from Flying types.
"Thunder" attack's accuracy is dropped in the sunlight.
That's all I can think of right now...=/
Chocoboking123 3 years ago
You got them right except that Flying types don't lose any more out of Leech Seed than anyone else.

Think about it
greeneee789 3 years ago 2
Many of those require Platinum Move Tutors, and I want to have as few of those as possible.
I know about AncientPower and Water Pulse having comparatively low attack power. They were more meant for Pokémon resistant to many types.
I was ready to surrender when Togekiss went up against Mawile, but I had the feeling he didn't want it to go up against a Steel-type.
Overhazard 3 years ago
