i like my bike hanging upright not upside down... i dont actually want my bike hanging from the roof / ceiling i'd like to hang on the side walls wen m not using it... u think u can help me with that...? thnx

Then you will need to nail a length of 2x4 to the ceiling that runs perpendicular to the joists. You can then screw in the hangers to the 2x4.

what if your joists aren't spaced at the right distance to accomodate the 4' span needed for the bike?
