@PainMinistry I think a lot of the tapping shit in that solo really doesn't translate well onto the cello, due to the tuning differences between a cello and a guitar. That's not to say they're "incapable" of solos. It's just that particular solo doesn't translate well.

I remember seeing these guys in Gremany. This was before anyone outside of mainland Eroupe have even heard of them. And I only went 'coz a friend had a spare ticket when I was visting him.

Anyway when they played master eveyone went f*cking insane. It was truly an epic experiance and I've been a fan ever since.

I love it! But still, the real one is way better, but I guess we can't compare because they're playing with cellos and Metallica with more recent instruments. I think a bit of drums during the solo woulnd't hurt too.

I kind of agree with you, MagicDACC. There is definitely no comparison. I fucking love Apocalyptica, and this is an excellent show of musical talent, as everything they play is, but I feel there is a little something missing in the heavy parts. It's just not possible to get the bite and attack of an electric guitar when you play a bowed instrument like a cello. Which is not to say that it doesn't rock, because it most certainly does! I love it! I love both versions!
