Ok, I have a lot of unauthorized material on my Wii that I don't want to lose but at the same time I can't play many of the new games without an update. What can I do? Any help?

As of right now, there are no games that come with it

Manly the "updates" that come with games are either for updating your Wii to *.0 (for instance if you don't have 4.0, you can get a game that comes with the 4.0 software update) or for special updates that the console NEEDS in order to run the game (for instance Super Smash Bros. Brawl needs the Wii to be updated to the update was supposed to be there on the day that Brawl was released in order to run the game)

well let's see... logically only Wii Sports Resort and Metroid Prime Trilogy should have the 4.0 software update. Since Metroid Prime Trilogy has a complex system, my best bet is that one. Although I don't think any game is suppying 4.0 or 4.1.

I'm really not a fan of homebrew unless it's for experimental use on a second Wii... however, you may need to resort to just that... THIS TIME and then delete the homebrew software (if you not very fond of homebrew yourself).

Guys, i have a problem and i'm not sure what to do. I have a NTSC wii softmodded 4.1. but every time i put in a wii game (not a back up) it says i need to update and i don't know what to do. I don't want to brick my wii so this isn't very good for me. can someone help?

I don't have a illegal channel. My friend updated it and it got a warning to remove the channel otherwise Nintendo JPN removes it's Internet and Wii access.

I got a Wii a couple days ago, upgraded to 4.1u, and then added the HBC. Works fine for me

i advise you to not install the homebrew channel with system update 4.1. Your Wii Options will be inaccessible to users who installs the homebrew channel. and eventually, your wii will refuse to turn on. if you still wish to install the homebrew channel, don't install 4.1.

I got this at 2am last night when I was online first I thought it was another mario kart message. then I seen the "nintendo letter" but the update doesn't add anything that I know of it just fixes some bugs I heard !

Don't expect new updates until *.0 software update (for example 4.0 was a big update with the inclsion of the SD Card Menu and a slighty better data mangement system and an updated Wii Shop Channel and SDHC cards while 4.1 just fixes a bug in Wii Sports Resort).

So expect some NEW features when the Wii console gets 5.0.
