I feared death, until I realized it was just part of the journey
I feared the dark, until I realized the light within me

You are right. I came to those same conclusions when I first read the poem. I found it on another website - so I didn't actually write it myself. The author is unknown. But I loved the words so much that I wanted to share them with others.
