Not terribly expensive, probably a reflection of the non originality. But a realistic price to pay for a car to actually drive, people do get a bit obsessed about "numbers matching" stuff.
The car was not correct. Porsche transaxle? 36HP engine. Tool kit was a repop. I had a 1950 Sunroof and a 1951 DeLux. Been doing the VW thing for over 40 years and have many friends who have much nicer car then that one. For $50K she could have had a real car. Good luck getting her money back.
