This is legal, and I have been spearing for ten years. In the WI DNR fishing and spearing regulations there are chapters on sturgeon spearing. Conservation of the sturgeon along with the tradition is the most important part of the season. The season will go for two days or may extend to nine days based on the harvest. The equipment for spearing is made by local people in the area out of their garage or business on the side.

ummm i think fleet farm should have most of the stuff. My decoy i made from scratch from 2 pie pans like 12"in. Then if you can find a wooden fish or something like it to put on the bottom for the decoy. Then what most people do is they get pvc piping to put on the bottom on the lake so they can see what crosses your hole. I think it helps alot! Then spear and hook (for pulling sturgeon out of water) you can get at fleet i would think. I got mine from my dad so i dont really know. hope it helps!
