  • I can not believe the number of complaining, whiny, disrespectful, and purely hateful comments that so many of you punks write, thinking that it shows you know something. You don't. Get over it and grow up!

  • I think presenting the news in Dress Blues is a little overkill, I don't remember any network news anchor giving the news in a tuxedo...

  • lol the commandant came out after this and said we are Marines we dont salute inside or uncovered

  • Salute the vets not the flag

  • oh thanks usmc for letting me salute the flag now. i really appreciate it. when can i wipe my ass though?

  • Is this a joke? It's a salute. Yea you risked your life for your country but first you are retired you are not allowed to salute unless on rare ocations. This is outrageous!

  • Perhaps, it is because we have been Saluting since we served, that this law was signed. Even when visiting Military Posts and during Friday Parades, when the flag passed, saluted. Anytime that am wearing a hat, always have, especially when wearing one related to my Military Service. Felt 3 tours in Combat entitled me.

  • this bald chickenhead shitbag disgracing my corps with those crooked ribbons UNFUCK YOURSELF!!

  • @JihadBunnydick Arrests and imprisonment for this crime had gone through the roof. Emergency legislation had to be enacted immediately.

  • @IFlick Are you serious? I was just playing with my pseudo USMC strictness im in the Navy..this country is going to hell nd i know im gonna be called back into service soon when i get out

  • @JihadBunnydick No, but it seems hard to believe there would be those policing such things,. I would hardly call saluting the flag out of uniform worthy granting permission. Such a thing sounds absurd to the point I question if the knucklehead in uniform is the real deal or not. I may have been watching too many "stolen valor" videos of fake Marines. That's how I stumbled on this video, I thought he may be an impostor.

  • @JihadBunnydick Yeah, that's taking care of your own, Semper Fi! How about look at the ribbons of Chesty Puller and if you're more than a Lance Corporal, treat another US Marine with respect. Correct in private, praise in public, ever learn anything like that?

  • jeez America really is becoming a dictator state

  • WHERE IS THE LAW? ...SHOW ME THE LAW

    I Never do anything but wait till it's over....Am i a LAW Breaker.......HAHAHAHAHAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHAAAAAAAAA

  • Looks like a god damn civi in dress blues. Unfuck and align that shit on your chest. USMC 1st MarDiv. HQBN 33 area says so!

  • Ever since 9/20/2011 I'd rather nobody know I've ever served in the US Armed Forces.

  • @Occupy4now may i ask why?

  • @Occupy4now Yeah, right, wannabee as if YOU ever did serve.

  • @Occupy4now If you didn't wish for people to know why are you posting it on a public website for the world to see? Anti-American political statement much?

  • I wonder if this low rent "Mickey Spillane" knows there is damn war going on right now? He has at least 4 yrs in and I've seen LCpls with better stacks than his...

GET IN THE SHIT RAPTOR MAN!!!!!

  • Comment removed

  • Thread the American flag and the american national anthem in the ass!

  • I'm a vet myself and I used to be proud of fighting for this country. Many Americans don't realize that our military today is now controlled by plutocrats and oligarchs.

  • The new salute for american veterens is: Take a loaded .45 cal pistol, Put to head, Pull Trigger.Death To ChemTrails ===✈

  • Fix your pistol badge, pog!

  • @JasonWolfeTumblrCom hahaahhahhhahah seriously, youd think a 03 could do that job fuck no, im sure wed be fired after the first report haha

  • Why are people getting their panties in a wad over this? Yes, beforehand anybody could salute the flag if they wanted to and nothing would ever be done about it, whether out of uniform or not. But there were a lot of people who did not salute the flag out of uniform because that was not proper protocol for the flag and the anthem.

They respect the flag as everyone else does but they want to follow proper protocol as their own way to respect the flag. Now they can salute and follow protocol.

  • A powerful central government grants permission to express yourself.

  • There was actually a law on this? Oh my god. What is fucking wrong with our country...

  • Wow!! Like someone would fucking stop an old guy from saluting in the first place?!?! Who would get penalized for saluting, its just plain retarded!!!!

  • FUCK YOU! I'll salute whenever I fucking want to.

  • @ The background photo that is the sloppiest salute I've ever seen. Then again you can't blame him he looks to be about 80 something.

  • A FUCKING LAW to let veterans salute ??? IF you fought for your country.... salute whenever you feel like it....you've earned that right !!!

  • I woulda like to have seen someone TRY to enforce the fact it was illegal prior to the date. I doubt any one of us woulda apologized and stopped saluteing. After all We served it , We should be able to salute it anytime we want. Semper Fi and Go Navy!

  • You did better than me, Sgt., with your expert badge. Oorah!

  • WTF?? They should be allowed to salute ANYTIME !! their the ones who aloows us to salute the flag everyday!!

  • I guess that outlaws most LEOs...just saying..

"How many years in the military did you serve??"

    -Jesse Helms

  • So this law allows people to salute the colors/National Anthem...

is it illegal to NOT salute/place your hand over your heart then?

  • @t72pwner its legal to turn right on a red light, does that mean its not legal to not turn right on a red light?

  • @tails228 that makes no sense.

To turn right on a red you need to stop, then make sure it's safe and you're okay.

I'm saying that before this law it was ILLEGAL to salute? Who enforced that and who said "let's make it against the law of these United States that someone who wants to salute the colors/Nat.Anthem be able to. They just can't, or they will get a fine/arrested"

  • @tails228 If it obstructs traffic for you to not safely proceed, yes. It's the same causing an obstruction charge you'll get for stopping in the middle of a street for no safety or breakdown reason if doing so obstructs other traffic.

  • When in doubt whip it out . Can I give a rifle salute at order arms without a rifle ? ; )

My 2nd Lt does not seem to think so . Fuckin butterbars .

  • We have drifted very far from the army that George Washington commanded. But that is the doing of the political parties that Washington warned us about.

  • Soldiers who defend the Constitution and freedom know it is legal to salute any time we want.

  • law or not, I salute, hooah!

  • The U.S.ARMY D.I. told us this in BCT back in FORT ORD, 1965.

  • it took a law to make this ok? I've done it for years.. I mean COME ON. you can go buy you a uniform & tell all kinds of BS war stories yet the STOLEN VALOR act is repealed under 'freedom of expression??

  • Why does there need to be laws regarding salutations? Serious question to anyone with the knowledge, thanks in advance.

  • @bulmeruk The law modified the US flag code, I believe. It is entirely symbolic in any event. Anyone could have saluted the flag or even intentionally disrespected the flag and it all would be fully protected speech under the 1st amendment.

  • related videos: black girl at mcdonalds?!?!?

  • Holy Shit... I had no idea this was a law. I guess after 33 years in...I can now salute...I think I will juts continue to put my hand over my heart... I feel funny saluting out of uniform... and returning a salute to the gate guards if I go on post.

  • what ? it's a law too wow WTF.. sound like they have nothing to do and came up with bullshit law.. failed.. The law makers are afraid that they will lose their job and this is what they came up with new bullshit laws for the citizen.. GREAT!!!

  • What the hell is this jar-head talking about? I am a civilian and veteran and I can do any damn thing I want when I hear the National Anthem. I can salute, I can put my hand on my heart, I can give the Hitler salute, or I can hold up my middle finger.

    These jar-heads are brainwashed.

  • Can Reservists and Guardsmen do this too? Because many of them have deployed as well and had the same training as active.

  • pathetic bush crap

  • Whenever and when ever Veterans gather, many either not in uniform given each other hand salutes. It is done out of respect and service to their country. I agree witht he Vet who stated, " I'll salute any damn time I want ".

  • veterans can do whatever the fuck they wanted, The old regulation for active duty was that if you were out of uniform you would face the flag and stand at the position of attention,

  • I'm sure law enforcement has never arrested any veteran for saluting our nations flag. Fail again.

  • Veterans can express themselves in anyway they so choose when not in uniform. The problem we have is not hand salutes of those that joined to defend our great nation, the problem is that we had a great act of mass murder used to deceive the American people, 9/11. The orchestrated false-flag of 9/11 was used to set the stage for other great acts of high treason such as the war on terror which really is and always has been a war on the Great Democracy of the USA and massive act of theft.

  • guess I've been breaking the law for a long fucking time

  • @OakIslandBandit Me too. Since I went too bootcamp at 17. My D.I was scarier than the law. "That song comes on you will dawgon rise and you will dawgon salute or I will skull %%^$%^&$%^& Every single a@## thats near me!" After that instruction I never stopped :D

  • @OakIslandBandit i know i have, so has hubby.

  • @OakIslandBandit mee too

  • @OakIslandBandit me too

  • @OakIslandBandit I stand with all my veterans. I still do it with or without the law.

  • @OakIslandBandit I am a member of we the people now, I do not need a government to tell me what to do been there done that. Now I am following in the footsteps of Smedley Butler and trying to keep as many younger brothers alive as possible by dealing with the elected oafs who kept getting in the way of doing the job........or giving the wrong job in unconstitutional wars caused by mission creep.

  • @OakIslandBandit thanks for your service it never should have been illegal in the first place.

  • @OakIslandBandit you and many others

  • I have a question... At 45 secs he says veterans can now legally give a military style salute at the raising, lowering of passing flag.

Does this mean that it was illegal prior to this bill and were there consequences?

  • @toolmkr1 not illegal but it was a faux pas, it harkens to the rule of placing ur hand over your heart in civie clothes

  • So what's the penalty for non-veterans saluting the flag?

  • that is cool and to the guy wrote about wearing pins jackets i do but not to let anyone know who i am i hope that every time someone sees a bumper sticker us navy or any other branch that it remind them we have brothers and sisters out there in harms way and not ever forget how much they have gave

  • I wish someone would have told me not to salute prior to this. After 21 years, I'll salute any damn time I want!

  • @TheGunman65 rah!

  • @TheGunman65 I asy HOOAH to that i spent too much time and gave too much to be told i can't salute!

  • @Bkrayzaythetrollolol You always could salute if you wanted, under the First Amendment. This law is just a protocol change. I prefer to put my hand over my heart.

  • i love my corps

  • @72hemicuda916 Even us squids think the Marines are great too.

  • what???? what the hell??? you mean they couldnt salute before??? Thanks for putting your life on the line, now go never salute again and wait for us to screw you over on you benefits when you get older... We really need to show our veterans more respect. why dont we take lal the money that people are wasting on welfare with their 50 kids and babys daddys and give it to the people who SERVED, not the people that WANT served.... sheesh

  • @BeerMoneyLive It's not like it's illegal to salute if you are a veteran or a military on civilian uniform. It's about military tradition and back then only military personel in uniform can salute. I am a Veteran myself but I salute the flag when I was in and out of uniform. Saluting an officer is something else. You can only salute an officer while you are in uniform.

  • So before this, as a veteran saluting my flag I could have been arrested? Some crackhead in D.C. actually had to pass a law to allow me to pay respect to the flag I defended?

  • @wo5q I don't get it either... Thanks for serving.

  • This is a GREAT change!

  • Holy shit this guy is only a marksman with a rifle on the range..

  • If you're going to salute, at least do it properly. Unlike the cupped hand of the old long retired vet pictured in the video. Like most the improper salutes you see on TV or Military movies. They sure drill the hell out of you to get it right in boot camp. L☺L

  • @viggoM35 You shouldn't be saluting the Flag if you haven't entered bootcamp yet. Only those who have completed bootcamp should salute the flag. Because if you haven't gone to bootcamp you aren't in the United States Military, you are still a civilian who is waiting to go into the military. Also when you enter bootcamp they teach you the correct way to salute and you learn it fast.

  • @JtCarbs2016 L☺L You totally misinterpreted my comment. My boot camp reference was towards one of the many things they like to drill you on. Not where, when, or how you should salute before, during, or after boot.

  • @viggoM35 By the way I have served, am a vet. But don't solute the flag, or advertise I am by funny ball caps, pins, jackets, etc... I don't need those things to justify who I am. I live for the present and future. Not in the past.

  • @viggoM35 My comment was for those who are waiting to go to bootcamp. And your right, no need to advertise what I do for a living by wearing a hat, or a pin, or anything else.

  • Freedom is Free. Proof. Look at life in Costa Rica. They have no big military and live in peace.

Militaries do not exist to bring peace. They are created to export conflict.

  • @390bullitt1968 ...costa rica has an army it is called the united states military...moron

  • I like this for other veterans to show repect to our flag now, instead of spitting on the flag or showing disrepect!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @william14486 weirdo

  • I'm not certain that this "change in law" had any real meaning. There's this little-known First Amendment to the US Constitution that provides for free expression. 1A, as a Constitutional provision, trumps any law. Active duty service members would likely be bound by the UCMJ (SCOTUS usually defers to military judgment over military matters), but someone who's done his or her time and is a civilian again has full 1A rights. Besides, when have you seen anyone arrested for saluting the flag?

  • I'm a veteran, do the hand over heart thing. Saluting in civilian clothes and 40 years after being out of the military would make me feel like a douchebag poseur.

  • lol, i remember before all this i was scolded by civilans for standing at attention when national anthem was playing or u.s. flag was presented in parade. now i can salute!

  • Video was great Hoo-Ra,,but Duncan & CriminalMinds...take your shit else were!!!

  • For those who have never fought and/or died for it... FREEDOM has a flavor the protected will never know. FREEDOM has NEVER been free. I may not agree with your politically correct, anti-American comments and thoughts, but... I will fight to the death for your right to have them. Have you ever noticed that those who complain the most, and degrade and insult those in uniform defending their right to act like idiots, have not worn the uniform of The U.S.? In closing, I remain... Semper Fidelis

  • 9/11 happened because of the NSA and CIA's staggering incompetence there were multiple EXPLICIT warnings from our own field intelligence agents as well as allied intelligence agencies which were all but ignored. Yet another example of the government failing us.

  • @Leviathan1775

NOT..911 didn't happen because of incompetence.....it happened because of Terrorists....evenif the CIA & NSA fucked up...Get real!!!

  • Fellow brothers and sisters at arms, SADLY we must now defend our returning veterans against the very people who sent them over there. They are having their death benefits stolen from them and they are now NUMBER 1 on the terrorst watchlist. Im not kidding, read the M.I.A.C. Report. We must defend our REPUBLIC (not mob rule democracy) Our country has been hi-jacked by offshore banks. Go to my videos to learn more!

    RON PAUL 2012

    INFOWARS com

FOREIGN AND DOMESTIC> PEACEFULLY of course!

    Peace!

  • @aquaimage13 fuck ron paul and all his hilarious pathetic campaign promises.

  • This law NEEDS to be enforced. I see a bunch of idiots who don't even do the Pledge of Allegiance. Sickening,

  • @66xXDeathIsNearXx66 It's a free country. If they don't want to do the Pledge of Allegiance they dont have to. What kinda country do you think we live in? Nazi germany?

  • @kicknbazz1615 It may be a free country, but the people should have love for their country. A strong people means a strong country.

  • This video is funny. I know I'm a civilian now and have done that salute chest cover remove cover dance. I just salute or cover my breast, now. Don't worry of it, salute my flag. Cover your breast in memory of your dead.

    Dang, just killed my hilarity.

For all yall others out there, salute if you want to. Don't worry about jack, us left behind appreciate even a sloppy salute. In one moment there is peace.

  • bout time

  • It shouldn't even have to be a law to allow them to salute during the national anthem. They served our country dammit!

  • so before it was against the law to salute during a national anthem or special event out of uniform? what kind of communist bull shit is that?

  • I don't think the law made a difference.. But I'm still not going to salute out of uniform.

  • Seriously, is this what American men and women have been fighting for over the last 235 years...so our govt can tell us how we're 'allowed' to address the flag? This isn't 'Starship Troopers' where serving in the military makes you a first class citizen with more rights than those who don't serve. We are all equal...military service or not...and if someone wants to salute the flag instead of putting their hand over their heart, then they have the absolute freedom and right to do so.

  • @FrustratedElf Yep. I'd sign up as "frustratE' too, if I had to go through the restof my life thinking how I got out of serving the people of this nation in the military. You DON'T HAVE THAT RIGHT to salute the flag if you haven't EARNED IT!

  • @SooperPOOPERstar its dishonorable to salute the flag out of uniform when not in uniform you should put your hand over your heart

  • @drewx4624 the currunt potus has shown more dishonor than any civilian saluting the flag...and besides...why should i want to salute a flag that represents a nation that has slaughtered more unborn souls than hitler was able to kill in his reign of terror???...and why would i salute a country that slaughtered its native peoples???...or promotes decadent lifestyles???...americ is fiscally and morally broke.

  • @sooperPOOPERstar I don't know about you, but to me, the flag is representation of the country. The country is the people, not the govt.

  • @ggreazy870 The government is the "People"

  • @TheChattyCatty - America was created as a constituional republic, not a DEMOCRACY. It has been twisted into a democacy in order to concentrate power in a few hands. Most of the ism's concrentrate power in a few hands. Constitutional Republicwas designed to prevent America from becoming what it is; where special interests and foreign states often dictate policy.

  • @390bullitt1968 I learned that in my AP gov class years ago. You are most certainly correct my friend glad to see some American actually know what America actually is.

  • @TheChattyCatty Unfortunately, they have the power. everyone in the country said fuck the goverment and wanted them gone, then what? We are the people, we are the country

  • @sooperPOOPERstar I agree with you on your points, but we who have served in the miitary didn't perform abortions or committ abominations in God'S eyes! So don't label us vets with the scum you speak of! How do YOU apologize for something YOU didn't do. like being a woman, who some women DO haver abortions, yet you aren't one? You didf no wrong in God's Eyes. All we can do is vote conservatives into office who oppose abortion,

Obama wants US to pay for every woman's abortion on earth!

  • i could LEGALLY do it before...why???...cuz i am an AMERICAN...who would arrest me???...the salute police???

  • Do you die for a flag or symbolism! You can run your Suck here, try going to Arlington National Cemetry and run your suck hole there. Those buried souls gave you the right to run your suck, hidden like a coward, behind a friggin computer! Really, reallly, I bet your proud of yourelf.

God Bless the Hard Corp Muthers that do the shit People on Youtube posting bs comments dont have ball 1 or the hair between there legs to do!

Dont care if ya dont agree. Its you right! Panty Waist

  • New LAW???? WTF? You salute Old Glory Whenever and Wherever!!! JEEEEz

  • I thought you can do whatever you want? Why do we need a law to render a salute? I will put my hand over my heart, give a military salute or not stand at all if I want to! If I feel like it I will turn my back to the flag when it is raised> Why? Because this is a free nation where the people can do what they want!

  • @pfctjd your'e sadly mistaken, the military is a whole another beast. There is no "Freedom" in the military and yes you can salute the flag but if you have not served to render that salute then please don't. It may sound dumb making saluting legal for vets but its a sense of pride of yes I have been through it and no matter how old I am I will still respect the flag. I'm personally a active duty service member and I will salute for the flag and the national anthem no matter what.

  • How about I do what I want when I want instead of begging the government for everything.

  • Wait...They weren't allowed to before?

  • So whats the issue if a civvie salutes the flag?? I mean come on! What a stupid law.

  • @ginjaninja1988 Saluting the flag is a privilege, not a right, you have to earn it. And since service members in civilian clothing can't be recognised as service members it wasn't allowed.. Imagine if everyone could do this, it would become ridiculous, people who can't salute properly would shame the flag and the militairy like that..

  • @LaurensMalterMagic In a land of Liberty (as America should be) freedom of expression is covered under the first amendment. Therefore anyone should be able to salute the flag if they wish. In fact this idea of shaming the flag is ridiculous; flags don't matter. What matters are the people and the constitution and bill of rights that recognize their natural rights. Constitutionally you can burn a flag but you are not allowed to salute it?? Worshipping a flag is false and blind patriotism

  • @ginjaninja1988 Nope, until you have handed one to the next of kin at a vet's funeral, or watched one cover a buddy's casket, or defended one on a battlefield...SHADDAP CIVILIAN PUKE !

  • @NamVetBuck So do soldiers die for flags??? Or do they die for principles?? One would hope they dont die for flags. If you want to fawn over a cloth thats fine by me but dont expect everyone else to.

  • @NamVetBuck personally I dont get any pleasure from burning flags. If you look at it logically flags don't matter unless you are caught up in 19th century like government worship patriotism where its doesn't matter what reason you are fighting for only that you are fighting for a flag. Flags are mere symbolism, it is people that count at the end of the day; serviceman or civilian.

  • @ginjaninja1988 You who did NOT serve don't deserve that right...we who DID SERVE have that right !

  • What it was illegal for someone to salute the flag if not in the military? Really? Or this just an uneeded law passed to make someone high up look good? I have always held that the greatest thing about America is that one can legally burn a US flag; because the US isn't about a damn flag its about the Constitution which upholds the natural rights of all men and right to live in liberty.

  • @ginjaninja1988 If you feel such a joy in burning a flag, please wrap yourself in it THEN fire it up, asshole !

  • I Am a damn AMERICAN im going to salute no matter what!!

  • @slugers05 While your enthusiasm is greatly appreciated, please volunteer to do a tour of duty, then salute the flag. WE who served EARNED that right...

  • @NamVetBuck i was in the army thank you

  • I agree sir

  • New Law: When Westboro Baptist Church showed up at funerals we can shoot them.

  • @superw1998 It is their First Amendment Right to protest military funerals. It is my First Amendment Right to beat them to death with their own signs.

  • @superw1998 dude if i die while in the Marine Corps every single person at my funeral will be given a gun and ammo to shot and kill anyone from Westboro Baptist Church

  • @superw1998 i agree with you on that

  • @superw1998 I wish. that's were we Patriot Guard Riders come in!

  • @UofAbball1997 And then everyone goes: Yeahhhhh!!!

  • @superw1998 hell yea to that

  • @superw1998 It shouldn't be a law, more of a past time or sport :)

  • @superw1998

    I couldn't agree more.

  • WOW, great, that will make the military stronger. Does the US-government really talks about these strange things? Saluting is so before WO-1

  • Duncan7599

Come to where I live and do it in front of me, I will cut off that finger and cut your salivary glands out! You worthless waste!

  • I didn't know about this! And here I was, crossing my heart like a civvy.

  • I dont get all the arguing here. What's so bad about this? I think its a good thing. It shows respect for the country and also our military.

  • duncan7599 you are a bonafide jo...........

  • And because of those that serve in the military you have the right to say that Slave2Reason

  • @duncan7599 , your welcome for the right to speak your mind. Your also welcome to leave my country as you please.

  • seriously you couldnt salute before how sad america how sad

  • LMFAO!!! What a joke. I am a proud so called civilian who never served in the military and I never will. I would gladly go to jail if their was a draft. I don't respect the flag and I especially don't respect the military. I spit at and give the finger at every American flag I see.

  • @duncan7599 well then go move to Canada, prick. Nobody fuckin wants you here.

  • @duncan7599 Ah, I love the fact that the only reason you have the right to insult your country like that is because you live in America.

  • @keinve2 Half the nations in the world have that same right to speak the truth about their nations and military you schmuck. America is not the only nation in the world that has freedom of speech.

  • @duncan7599

i have to disagree with you,for example the german constitution states in one article (i believe it is Article 5 section 1) that you have the right of free speech, but 3 lines down (Article 5 Section 2) it states unless your free speech is offensive or racist based etc in that meaning,so to sum it up ,you actualy have no freedom of speech because it is restricted unlike here in america where is no restriction to what and how you say something and to whom or about whoever

  • @Hoschi0913

is a death threat something you can give freely?

    didn't think so
