viewers should note that in the process of removing the back cover, you stand a good chance of bending the retaining clips into positions which will be next to impossible to bend back to the right shape and position.

My 3rd gen nano is stuck on the apple logo. When select and menu are held, it returns to the apple logo, I have tried disk mode and diagnostic mode (play+select, rewind+select, resectively). When drained, the plug into power screen is displayed. When plugged in to itunes, it isn't recognized in source pane, but when I hold select and menu for a while it will 'prepare ipod for recovery', that is all I get though. After this is done, I hear the 'disconnected chime',and apple logo returns to ipod.

Now I'm not sure if this is something I did or something caused by doing the things on this video. What I did, essentially, was replace the screen. My old one had cracked so i bought a new one. The old one lit up however. I replaced the screen and it works fine EXCEPT the backlight on it is not lighting up. So I guess it's up to you on what you do. My question is, is the backlight part of the screen (Bad screen) or part of the ipod that I broke in the process of disassembling it

don't give it power until it dries. I put mine near the heat for a few days, then in a baggie of rice for another. It's dry and works, but the screen is so dark as to be nearly impossible to see. I'm researching how to replace it. maybe Santa will give me an itouch and save me the grief
