I'm currently doing a 5x5 heavy compound lifts routine 3 times a week (squats, deadlifts, bench presses, bent over rows, and military presses). Would it be a bad idea to do this routine as well on the days I am not doing my strength building routine?
Superb workout. Works my entire body, gives me one heck of a cardiovaskular exercise. After only 2 times per week during 3-4 weeks (together with good nutrition of course) I noticed a huge difference. I could perform much better both strength- and stamina-wise. And it seemed to burn heaps of bodyfat.
All in 46 minutes and you can do it at home with very little equipment.
@60DayswithNatJones Wow, that is alot more than I thought. I guess I'm just not working out as hard as I should be. Do you have any suggestions about alternating between the orignal workout and this one?
i can't grasp the concept!!..when it says "preform this excercise on one side of your body""switch sides after each circuit"..what????most exercises your usen 2 dumbbells, with center of gravity..sooo..what am i missing?
hey, i'm 17 i weigh about 198. if you see one of my latest bmx videos u'll notice i have sort of a big gut. haha. in the latest video i was about 212 pounds and now i've been doing the spartacus workout for about 1 month and now like i said i'm 198. i noticed i gained some arm and leg muscle and my gut has gotten a little smaller. but is there any way to speed this process up or do i just keep doing what i'm doing. also is whey protein and casein necessary?
@14yearoldxboxfan To speed up the process go on a junk food / soda free diet. Eat non processed foods stay away from refine sugar and eat 6-7 small meals a day. Check out Body for Life.
What is the average time this whole circuit exercise takes? I have no more then one hour to workout but also want a full body a** kicking. I am in decent shape right now, but want that ripped body. Any suggestions would be appreciated!
Hey Nat, great video. I am about to turn 16 in a couple of months. Im 5`10 and about 163 lbs. I just have a bit of lower belly fat and love handles. If I do this every other day, do you think I can lose this fat by the end of June and have a decent set of abs? I really want to look good, and I think I only have to lose 10-15 pounds. Thanks!
@billythewill67 Thank you! It's tricky to be honest because this work is circuit training which burns a lot of calories. You would have to make sure you rest enough to gain muscle. Let me look into this a little more.
Love your videos. I've been doing Spartacus 1.0. Still can't muster three full sets but i can do 2........sort of. Once I can do 3 I will switch to this.
@luger74 I saw results after 3 months and in about a year I got really shredded. For me it is a combination of exercise and diet. I switch up my workouts every 3 to 6 weeks depending on what I am doing. I get my cardio from some of the workouts I do, walking 22 miles a week and karate. I think your workout is tight. You can tell if your over doing it if you feel tired all the time and can't sleep.
what kind of dumbbell is that?
ttttkk2 1 day ago
So what I want to do is:
monday: squats, bench presses, bent over rows
Tuesday: Spartacus 2.0
Wednesday: squats, military presses, dead lifts
Thursday: Spartacus 2.0
Friday: squats, bench presses, bent over rows
Saturday: Spartacus 2.0
Sunday: rest
Not sure if this would be too much or not.

Nat, how would this workout rank for those of us who want to gain muscle instead of losing fat? Keep up the great work, by the way!

Hey Nat, how long did it take to get to your fitness level? Your tone etc.? I'm a 6ft male 210 pounds and have been hitting it hard lately.
Monday: Chest, Biceps, Abs
Tuesday: Delts, Triceps, Abs
Wednesday: Quad, Hams, Calves
Thursday: Back, Bicep, Abs
Friday: Delts, Triceps, Abs
Saturday: Conditioning Class, Calves
Sunday: Rest
Still kind of trying to perfect it...maybe take 2 days off instead of 1, not sure. But good video, got some good exercises from it.
