Such a group of brilliant people who took a risk with the genre and made such an epic, timeless comedy show, cannot be formed again. Yet, in 2011 we are in a desperate need of one. We've had enough of bland and pointless American sitcoms. Phytons, please resurrect!
I work at a restaurant and last week someone complained about a dirty glass. I immediately thought of this scene and totally overdoing it, but realized I would probably lose my job because of it loooool
@picklepink97 Man, I have been asking, no, BEGGING my drama teacher to allow us to do some skits for a play. But no, no no no. We aren't. And it makes me so sad.
hahaha i love how in the background while all of this conflict is going on they just go on with their dinner without even being slightly curious about the background noise. Monty Python is fucking brilliant
This reminds me of what happened to my when I told Micheal Bay transformers 3 wasn't that good. Lenord Nimoy came at me with that blade thin sentinel prime had!
Back in the day when no-one cared about health and safety, and a man could wildly lunge onto the back of another man who's holding a razor-sharp cleaver and hurl him over a table without anyone batting an eyelid.
When John Cleese shouted his first line, I started laughing so hard my chest was hurting. XD
John Cleese is perhaps the best Phython. No disrespect to the others, they are all great, but few people could pull off the many types of people John has portrayed in sketches like "Interesting People", "Literary Football", "The Architect Sketch", "The Ministry of Silly Walks", "The Argument Clinic", "Dead Parrot" and so many others!
the people who disliked are the cook, waiter, manager, the man with the dirty fork, his wife, the cook's son, the woman who does the washing up, and eight customers who were cut to pieces by the chef.
on new years eve, me and my family had to do a comedy skit for a talent show, and i suggested the dirty fork skit. they had never heard of it so i had to show them it. so then we perform it, and we won the freakin talent show!! i cant thank monty python enough for their comedy genius! (just for the record, i played the chef)
17 people don't fully appreciate the quite subtle and outrageous comedy that is Monty Python and it's just awesome when john cleese comes out he was such a mad bastard lol :D
1:34 that no apologies I have can alter the fact that in our restaurant you have been given a dirty filthy SMELLY! fork... IT WAS SMELLY AND OBSCENE AND DISGUSTING FORK! I HATE IT, I HATE IT NASTY GRUBBY DIRTY MANGY BLOODY LITTLE FORK!!! LoL!
@Piparkakkumauste & Noewon1: yes, this occurred three or four years earlier than Fawlty Towers, which John Cleese did not make until 1975 and 1979. He and the rest of the Pythons made this in the early 1970s.
16 people were laughing so hard that tears were brought to their eyes and their vision was clouded, they then accidentally hit the dislike button...morons....
This is pure genius. The skit was build up perfectly, starting from completely normal, going to slightly crazy, then to downright insane, and ending in a cheesy punchline. It really is brilliant. Monty Python's the best.
@charmeleon16 I think the best Python sketches do that. You start off with a normal situation that immediately begins devolving and gets completely out of control. See "Flying Lesson" and "I Wish to Report a Burglary."
Wonder how many people who've watched the whole episode know what "And now... The Punchline" actually refers to. Anyway this is so funny I could barely breathe throughout the sketch and the entire show. :)
i like how the people in the background just keep going as if there wernt a ton of screaming people in the room. these guys are genius. i would love to have seen a team up between them and mel brooks. but they would have been charged with mass murder form all the people who died from laughing too much
@CodeLyokoFan9007 Actually "A Fish Called Wanda" which starred John Cleese (who also wrote the script) and Michael Palin actually caused someone to die of laughter. So they have enough blood on their hands already!
This is the sketch I'm doing in my drama class. Soo fun.
