@unis1988 you can do a CVT to manual swap, but it's not cheap. you would be better off trying to purchase a car with a manual instead for much less. off the line the CVT should have better traction depending on how you launch the car, but the manual will be faster overall if driven properly. In this video, I was still getting used to the car, so I was shifting horribly. my latest vid has the car doing 0-60 in 5.2 seconds
@screwopenborders It was between a 6th gen maxima, 4th gen Altima, or Altima SE-R when i was car shopping. But no SE-Rs could be found with a 6spd, and the maxima was way too pricey. Plus the altima had better overall performance in a lighter car with a lot of interior space. But I do love the maxima interior WAYYYY better
@GMCvancouver As of 2010, you can no longer get a manual in a sedan. my car is a 2007 which was the first time that a 6spd was offered in the Altima outside of the SE-R

O ok I see....thats a good idea actually. Only issue is with my car the gauges are in separate binnacles so if I mount the camera where you have it, the gauges will be cut off in view. Either way, cool vid and your car sounds great.
you may have to mount it on the side of the headrest closer to the door, and have it zoomed out a bit to get the center dash gauges as well as the dash gauges
I timed it at 5.6 1st run 5.9 2nd run 5.8 3rd run 6.0 4th run
very good runs accept for the last one your almost in the mid 5's get your cats done exhaust and tune you whole car out you will get more Torque ;-) and HP you will be doing low 5's trust me I've seen it oh and get better tires and put smaller size rims if you will be drag racing!

the launching of this is a B**** i have the same car and i get too much wheel spin even at 2.5k, you can hear it on his too. i figure its cuz the tires are 215's which has pretty much no foot print.
if you have any car knowledge, you would understand that conventional manuals have much higher gear ratios than 2speed cvt. Meaning they are able to accelerate faster with the same amount of power. It's not a hard concept to understand.

You have two pulleys split perpendicular to their axes of rotation, with a V-belt running between them. Due to the V-shaped cross section of the belt, this causes it to ride higher on one pulley and lower on the other. Doing this changes the effective diameters of the pulleys, which in turn changes the overall gear ratio. You don't feel the gear change because there really isn't any, it's all linear but it's called a 2 speed because of the 2 pulley's at work!

There are many types of cvt transmissions but the foundation is still the same. Nissan's might and most likely is different from Toyota's or Honda's CVT tranny but the concept is still the same. I basically described to you in simple terms the operation of the cvt tranny and not any one in particular but yes some cars have up to 6 belts constantly working or in some cases chains
@occckid123 They took it back to the dealer for a warranty repair. nissan has extended the warranty on the CVTs past the 60K mileage. I believe its covered to 100K or 120K mileage now.

Cvt actually is 6.0 0-60 somtimes 5.9's and i seen acouple guys hit 5.8 0-60 STOCK in a sedan 3.5. my personal best is 5.92 0-60 in cvt I have a 07 altima 3.5. I cant lie the new accord coupes are hot but the sedan is ugly and the altima is faster then camry and accord ive raced both and won and im stock.Plus the fact that camry interior is pretty basic and not impressive and the accord dosent offer a manual mode(tiptronic) Altima is overall a better car.

Actually, according to tests done by C&D and others, the Altima coupe is considerably faster, but the Accord coupe handles better. I don't know where you got that the Accord was faster. The Altima's 1/4 times are better. 0-60 is almost the same.

Well I do know that the Accord beats it on the 0-60, but I've also seen them race at higher speeds and from 3rd gear on, the Altima coupe (has to be a coupe 6 spd and not a CVT or Sedan) eventually pulls away. It's to be expected. It has almost 30HP more and has higher torque.
people really under etimate the new 4.5 altimas, especially the 6 dpeed. their rediculas their so fast. easily smoking sti's evo's srt-4's eclipse's. the only other v-6s that are as fast are the 350z and the g35. both also with the vq35
Well, lets clarify this. A stock evo, sti, GSX or GST Eclipse, or the SRT-4 Neon will be beaten by the 6spd Manual 3.5 altimas. Even off the line if you can control your launch. Now if they are modded, forget it. Better off racing from a roll if you want to stand a chance
just going by numbers im pretty sure you would need just a shitty driver in the sti or evo for the 3.5 manual altima to beat it, ESPECIALLY off the line. ive never heard of a stock 3.5 altima doing a 4.7-4.8 0-60 launch.

See like most people, they base what their car does, on what some test car did. face it, most of the people who have the cars listed above cant really drive them. so a "slower car" can still win, and I normally do. But I do have A LOT of AWD friends, and the stock ones it is always a driver's race

I had 2001 Acura MDX for years. Brand new for $43,000, keep having engine stalling problem only with 50,000 miles on it. Dealership could not find reason Y. I got rid of it in 2004 because my wife almost had an accident from engine problem on HYW. When the engine stalls, brake and steering wheel not work good and cause major accident. Since then, I'm not paying more just for the name anymore.

For all u Hyundai lovers A Sonata cant touch an Altima, I raced a V-6 one and killed it, look up the stats, there about as fast as a 06 Sentra SE-R Spec-V I used to have one. As for the new Hyundai coupe there comeing out with, the biggest engine that u can get in it is the 310HP V-6 which in reports says still does 0-60 In around 6 seconds The 375HP V-8 is for the Sedan

O ok I see....thats a good idea actually. Only issue is with my car the gauges are in separate binnacles so if I mount the camera where you have it, the gauges will be cut off in view. Either way, cool vid and your car sounds great.

I do not believe that the Nissan CVT uses any chains. I have had a few friends have theirs go out, and inside was a belt.

Well I do know that the Accord beats it on the 0-60, but I've also seen them race at higher speeds and from 3rd gear on, the Altima coupe (has to be a coupe 6 spd and not a CVT or Sedan) eventually pulls away. It's to be expected. It has almost 30HP more and has higher torque.

people really under etimate the new 4.5 altimas, especially the 6 dpeed. their rediculas their so fast. easily smoking sti's evo's srt-4's eclipse's. the only other v-6s that are as fast are the 350z and the g35. both also with the vq35

Well, lets clarify this. A stock evo, sti, GSX or GST Eclipse, or the SRT-4 Neon will be beaten by the 6spd Manual 3.5 altimas. Even off the line if you can control your launch. Now if they are modded, forget it. Better off racing from a roll if you want to stand a chance

just going by numbers im pretty sure you would need just a shitty driver in the sti or evo for the 3.5 manual altima to beat it, ESPECIALLY off the line. ive never heard of a stock 3.5 altima doing a 4.7-4.8 0-60 launch.

I would agree with you to a point. See like most people, they base what their car does, on what some test car did. face it, most of the people who have the cars listed above cant really drive them. so a "slower car" can still win, and I normally do. But I do have A LOT of AWD friends, and the stock ones it is always a driver's race

Never seen a camry pull anything under 6 seconds in a 0-60. I will admit, I love the look of the newer Camry with the euro kit. As long as its a V6, I would roll one anytime

I had 2001 Acura MDX for years. Brand new for $43,000, keep having engine stalling problem only with 50,000 miles on it. Dealership could not find reason Y. I got rid of it in 2004 because my wife almost had an accident from engine problem on HYW. When the engine stalls, brake and steering wheel not work good and cause major accident. Since then, I'm not paying more just for the name anymore.

Let's see. Average American make less than I do and still buy Toyotas and Hondas for about $6,000 more than my Hyundais. Those Average American also have $7,000 cerdit card dept alone that I don't have. Lots of those people losing their jobs,houses, and cars because of economic reccesion. For all u Hyundai lovers A Sonata cant touch an Altima, I raced a V-6 one and killed it, look up the stats, there about as fast as a 06 Sentra SE-R Spec-V I used to have one. As for the new Hyundai coupe there comeing out with, the biggest engine that u can get in it is the 310HP V-6 which in reports says still does 0-60 In around 6 seconds The 375HP V-8 is for the Sedan
