was your motor too far out? Ive seen the adjustment nut vibrate out from the gearbox cycling until the motor is workign extra hard (causing more heat) then eventually just squeeling because its not even grabbing the bevel gear anymore
Shwel my motor is getting hot too. The last match i had the gun would shoot full auto then id let go and it would still do it. And then it would shoot full in safety and semi auto. And like i said the motor was insanely hot as well as the battery and the battery gave out.. Any ideas?
@TeamHOGZairsoft that sounds like a short in the wiring or a ffailureally in the trigger switch.you will certainly need to go into the gearbox or a tech into the gearbox. Sorry to hear this bro.
i had a classic army i hadn't cleaned in 1 year and i used the shit out of it. I took it apart to it upgrade it and the whole piston was stripped the bushings fell apart and dirt was everywhere. But dispite all that it still worked. XD
Recently opend up my GB, cleaned all the messy shit inside, cleaned it, replaced the spring (downgrade, since 360fps is limit in my country)
When I put my gun back together, everything was fine, and after a while, it made the exact same sound as yours, this *krrrr* sound..
Found out 3 tooth of my spur gear broke off. What could cause this? Wrong ammount of shimmings? I worked fine for about 100 rounds, then it broke down..
@LofAndPies Yes you are correct. The shimming is the number one reason for that kind of failure. When you shim a gun, it will indeed work for a while even if the shimming is wrong.. In some cases if it is shimmed too tight, it wont spin at all.. When shimming you should have a little side to side movement on the gears still, very little movement, but movement. This is a good sign that they are not too tight.
@LofAndPies you could just have had bad luck..gear failures can be pretty common but in turn it depends a lot what kind of battery you used and what was your guns brand. its also possible to break gears if you are shooting full auto and then a bb jams and you dont stop firing in time, but that causes gear failures usually only if your gun had a really good airseal.
@ASoftaaja I think in my case it was the shimmings, It's an CYMA CM.041, I bought new gears and shimmings, tested it before i closed it up and now it works just fine. But thanks for the info!!
I might have a theory why the motor gets so hot. Because I have heard active breaking mosfets can kill a motor or cause it to get extremely hot even were you can't touch it with gloves on. So you can try a non active breaking mosfet and see if that helps at all.
i havent read any comments or anything but did u figure out why the motor would get hot? i got an ares m4 and i work on guns all the time especially my m4. and the problem with them is the motor gets hotter than others. i changed the motor. and it still gets hot.
do you know if you could use a 11.1v lipo in a stock SRC g36c (the new version)? soz its a bit random but you seem to know more about airsoft than i do lol
@giley124 In my experience, you need to have a very good shim Job in order to run a Lipo successfully. You can also add in a MOSFET to ensure that the Trigger assembly will last. BUT the Shimming of the gears is the most important part of being "Lipo Ready"..
@christiangd12 yeah they actualy do make metal reinforced wheel type hop ups for scars. check out zephyr .com and look into their hop up units, also you can find them on ebay.
tht doesnt sound rite, haha but my friend has a gp masada with a lipo, and it had such a high rof tht u could see the trail of bbs it looked like string
Today i just put in a g&p m120 ak short type into an aug for heartbreaker/waxboy and on a 9.6 and it got hot quick. the wires and the motor both got hot after 40-50 rounds of testing on full auto. maybe its a g&p thing o.O
@SuppressedForce Nach, this is why I dont buy that particular motor anymore. If you are certain the Shimming is correct, then it is prob the Motor... BUT NEVER fire that motor for too long. It is best suited for Bursts. Also did you break in the motor before installing? It is not necessary to do, but it helps seat the brushes better.
@koreywhitley Yeah, I have become used to failures. I get tired of buying the replacemen parts, but Ieverytime I open a gun, I learn something new.. This failure was causes by the Hop Up spring... Some how it found its way into the GB... I am working on a 614 build right now.
@sgtxdaddy Thanx for the input. I suspected that at first. This does not happen with every Motor though. I was only having problems with my Systema Turbo and my G&P M120. The Systema heat issue was resovled with a good cleaning and replacement of the Motor Brushes. And also adding insolation to the Brush Plates. I have not used the G&P in it in a while therefore I have not tried resolving the heat issue on it.
@m16mang I have not been to a Firezone game since January.. They have been holding more nite ops, so I prob wont be out there for a while unless they start doiing day Ops again.. I cant see at nite, so driving for me at nite is not a safe thing to do.. I live in Deltona, so it is at minimum a 45 minute drive for me. Have you talked to Fireman on his site?
@SHWELL11 Aww, night ops sound fun. Don't they hand out N.V.G. for the night ops? And I have talked to Fireman but that was like 6 months ago. I recently got interested again. (Lost interest due to no job so no load out...) But yeah, I'm looking for a reliable m4 carbine model. So far it looks like the VFC m4 carbine e-series and the CA m15a4 x-series are reliable. But do you have any other recommendations? I remember firemand told me to get the KWA m4 or something... something with a "K"
@m16mang KWA is prob the best midrange gun on the market as far as M4's go... the build quality and QC of them has been proven to be industry standard some might say. And they are said to be LIPO ready.. KWA is my next gun purchase
You know. I have a G&G GR300 and a G&P CQBR M4 and I love both, but I keep hearing about the KWA M4 and how they have a very good gearbox. i might pick one up in the future. Even though I have like 5 M4 variants.
@Leojx94 I have worked on a couple KWA's and they are fantastic AEG's.. The quality of materials and the Quality control (Shimming) is also top notch. KWA and Real Sword are by far the best guns I have seen internally in the Mid-Hi level guns.. Both manufacturers are worth the mosny spent. My next NEW gun will def be a KWA.
@SHWELL11 Gah, this is so hard to decide which gun to get first...On a review someone said you couldn't remove the front sight on the KWA m4, do you know if that's true? Also, what makes you choose the KWA between the VFC and Classic Army? (Classic Army's the only one I've come in contact with, so I don't know the actual quality of any other airsoft brands.) Also, realism's a big thing for me.
@m16mang The build quality is the number one thing for me. I have owned quite a few clones and have worked on quite a few guns over the past year, and the one that impressed me the most were ICS and KWA.. Now these are not overpriced guns, and the quality is def there with meterials and also Quality control.
@m16mang Externally the KWA's are great, as well as internally.. VFC is known for great externals, but internally they are just OK as far as MY knowledge is concerned. CA is hit or miss, if you go with a Pro-Line you would be fine.
@SHWELL11 Oh, my sister lives in Deltona. Used to live in DeLand. But anyways, Shar's having a game on the 25th. Are you going to be there? Also, how many guys do you know that have the KWA M4?
Bro, Go with a G&P for great Externals and Internals. Most Aegs gret upgraded with there External Body. They only focus on M4, but they do a very good job with them. There Performance, from my experience, is awesome. I have a G&P CQBR M4 and with a 8.4v it shoots fast than most of my other AEGs with a 9.6v.
Another good brand is G&G. There made in Taiwan just like KWA AEGs and they are very reliable.
@Leojx94 hate to say but g&p internals are garbage gear wise and the new pistons are garbage also. externally i would have to say they are wonderful but i like kwa alot better.
FTR, I figured out why it was hot... The Positive Wire in the GB was freyed at the Motor opening and it was shorting to the motor shaft. All fixed now and the Motors screem and function great... No more Lipo though, I can't afford to buy new gears everytime I pull the trigger.. I'll stick to 25 RPS on my 9.6v short stroked setup...
Damn i did say acog didnt I... lol.. you are right... It is an Aimpoint Replica.. Thanx for the heads up... I know more people will follow suit and talk about it as well. .
It was really bad.... The spring from my Hop up popped off and found its way into my gearbox.... And that was why I had the smoke from the Motor.. The Spring was in there really good. The Spur and Sector Gears were destroyed... I fixed it though...

I'd recommend not using an AB mosfet unless you are running a systema motor (weak externals on the systema motor) or you are making a silence build.
