  • omg thank you so much i have been looking for a clip of their rockpalast performances for so long now. this is the time when ron blair had eaten a whole chunk of hash

  • greatness... petty is the best of all time... totally this song, should of made damn the torpedoes!

  • elfmangirl, you're right--just watched the TP documentary and this gig is legendary for Ron Blair's amazing performance despite gobbling his hash from Amsterdam in the customs line going into Germany.

  • I think this might have been right after Ron Blair had to eat all the hash at the airport after leaving Amsterdam.

  • @elfmangirl It sure looks that way lolz

  • I love this early Tom Petty & the Heartbreakers stuff. Just straight rock and roll. I love Tom's entire catalog of work, honestly, and obviously he evolved as an artist and his music got more sophisticated over the years, but these early performances are just so addictive and raw and badass.

  • I can't believe it took him 23 years to record this XD

  • Greatest American band of all-time!

  • the comment below is talking about dogs on the run

  • its on Southern Accents

  • One of SRV's best tunes, wish the audio was a little better. Damn, that man could play the hell outta the guitar

  • SRV, isn't that stevie ray vaughan?

  • SRV's best tunes

  • As far as I know, "Dog on the Run" was written by Tom Petty himself and is only available on a rare 1976 promo release called Official Live 'Leg. Undoubtedly out-of-print, this one'll take some work to find. Good luck to everyone...and me!

  • Amazing how Stan Lynch circa '77 looked like Mick Fleetwood circa '69:

  • This song was recorded in '79, and released on the Anthology CD. Too bad Campbell's so low in the mix here. His parts make it all that much better.

  • this one NEVER got on any of the original albums. It is very very cool. woulds been soo colle to see TPHB in 1977! Check out Dwight Twillety while yer at it same label same sound

  • Benmont is my boyfriend.

  • I love you Z!

  • god bless tom and the heartbreakers for giving us so many great songs over the years.

  • I'll drink to that! Hell yeah!!

  • FUCK YES...the Dog on the Run performance from the doc is fuckin great..hunting the track down..

  • does anybody have the video of them doing Dog on the Run? i've searched and searched and i cant find it anywhere

  • No,this isn`t a b-side.A great song written in 1977,but he didn`t record it until the year 2000.

  • is this a b-side? i've never heard it before.

  • Here they were, all young and totally unaware of how legendary they would soon become...

  • OMGOSH This is frickin amazing....

    TOM PETTY IS AMAZING!

  • I never thought this video again! Thanks for posting!

  • Thanks for posting this!
