  • lol i love the way she says melokhiah its hot and good recipe too

  • when i googled jews mallow soup i mostly got ur videos

    weird name

  • @Ezldor yes it is a weird name but it is mulukhiya and it is the traditional way to make it :)

  • i watched dede since 2004. she is so beautiful. i wish she was my wife.she is gorgeous and the perfect lebanese housewife.

  • @killyourself205 well thank you so much for your support I really appreciate it :)

  • Hi Dede. I just bought some dried leaves : how much should I use to have 6 cups of hydrated leaves ? I found also some in cans and in the freezer : should I cook them as long as the ones in your recipe ? Thank you :-)

  • @SandrineArmani well I would suggest using the frozen ones over the canned leaves. If you are going to use dried leaves I would suggest using 10-12 cups dried leaves for 6 cups of hydrated leaves.

  • Omg... I love all your videos please keep making them!

  • @MsCarmenali you are so welcome, please check out my site for other recipes I'm sure you'll like :)

  • do you live in Michigan? if so what part because i know a man who grows those leaves?

  • @bballw355 nope, unfortunately I don't live in Michigan anymore, I'm in LA now :)

  • Hi Dede! I love all your recipes, you are an amazing cook, you cook the traditional Lebanese way except you make it so easy! Thank you! One question about the Mulukhyia (it's my favourite by the way), can you tell me how to make it with chicken instead of beef? Thanks a bunch! Keep up the great recipes :)

  • @nadia1205 thanks for the comment. To use chicken, just boil a whole chicken until it is finished cooking, use the broth for the mulukhiya and just remove the chicken meat from the bones and add the chicken meat to the stew :)

  • its take so much time ?? but if u are going to cook again 1hr so what for to cook it 20m first..a big hug

  • @salmaarafaa yes it takes time but it very worth it for the great flavors :)

  • Omg I thought Liberians were the only once that ate plava sauce/ jews mellow. its nice to see it made a different way than I am use to. Interesting .

  • @thongprincess921 thanks, this is a very popular dish in Lebanon and I love it :)

  • @DreamingBig106 i will work on that video too :)

  • My mom makes the mulukhiyah so differently!!.......She makes it so small like tiny little pieces!!...........its still the same thing anyways!! :)

  • @DreamingBig106 some people like to cut it up others leave it whole. This is the Lebanese version :)

  • My friends make fun of me because I call this dish "Egyptian Gumbo," lol. I love this dish and it is so satisfying!

  • Thanks. so glad I just made a stock pot full of chicken broth yesterday : )

  • @bonzaibb12 wonderful :)

  • what if you have fresh mallow leaves; you don't have to soak them overnight- right?

  • @Kickz6009 correct, you don't need to soak them. Just rinse them and then suate them as instructed. THe written recipe is on my site :)

  • Oh my thanksss!! One of my favorite dishes....provided its cooked the lebanese way like you did of course! mercii kteer!

  • @RealmOfTruth110 You are very welcome :)

  • oh my god :( my favvvvv!!!

    where r u from btw?

  • detroit, MI Lebanese :)

  • This looks delicious. I remember having this dish (or a sudanese version of this dish) as a kid, and it was very slimy and sour the way it was made. This looks a lot better. I'll certainly try it out. Thanks a lot!

  • wonderful, the written recipe will be up on my site later today

  • Exactly like my mama makes it! :)

my aunt's husband was Egyptian so she used to make it like soup... i never really like it... the Lebanese way is much better!!! ;)

  • I agree, I love this recipe, it is actually one of my all time favorite recipes :)

  • I'll have to try this to see if I like it. Thanks for another healthy recipe. :)

  • this one is very healthy and high in fiber :)

  • ok Dede you said frozen format

so for two people? how many i ll need to buy please please

    thank you so much

  • I would say for 2 people you would need about 2lbs frozen. Believe me, you'll want leftovers.

  • hmm we cook it the sudanese way though hehe it is different but same dish

  • Many different countries make it different ways :)

  • omg omg! my dads fave! mom is too lazy to show me how its done so thanks

    =D

  • I hope you enjoy it :)

  • how can i make it without cilantro i hate it so much

  • well cilantro is a very important part of the dish but you can try doing it without the cilantro and maybe you'll like it :)

  • Hey Dede

I like your pan that your using. What brand is it, n is it non stick or what kind of metal is it. mmm . By the way ,I make it with chicken and I dont add any cayenne in it. Its Either that or vine leaves for tomorrow night. he he

  • I like using the cuisinart, their pans are really good. Tefal is also a really good brand :) It is steel, not non-stick, for items like this I like using the steel. I only use non-stick for my eggs :)

  • this remind me of saag

  • Looks delicious!

  • MLO5EYAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!!!!!!!!! SO DELICIOUS!

    Thanks a ton, DeDe!

  • Thanks Dede for the recipe, but tell them the truth lol it gets slimmmmmmmmmmmy when pureed.

Love this dish with chicken over beef . Alot of Palestinians like it pureed.

    Thanks again.

  • that is true, when it is blended it is slimy, I do not like it that way either :)

  • LOL I like how your clothes match your dishes. :)

  • This is my husband's favorite soup.

  • me too!

  • very interesting looking dish.

    It seems laborious.

What to the leaves taste like?

Why do you pour off the water then add beef broth?

Why not just cook in the beef broth?

  • The reason I pour off the broth from the leaves is b/c sometimes the leaves get a little slimy so I pour off that liquid and add the beef broth that is nice and clear :)

It may be laborious but well worth it, believe me!

  • very fantastic.....thanks for sharing.
