  • Just in case you might be interested. The spanish spoken in Uruguay and Argentina doesn't sound like the one spoken in Spain or Mexico. So you should adjust your accents, because letters like "ll" or "y" aren't pronounced the way you are singing them. It would be like singin a spiritual with british accent. It sounds really bad.

  • Should others be discouraged from singing this song because of the accents? I think not.

  • I am not talking about that. Think what you want. If you sing in German you respect the pronunciation and don't sing it ignoring what language the lyrics were written in. It's the same with this. Nobody should be discouraged (aside from the fact that the arrangement is kinda boring), on the contrary, they should be encouraged to discover the amount of beautiful music Uruguay has to offer.

And BTW, do you think the only way of communicating is through controversy?

    My post was very respectful.

  • And if a Uruguayan sang in German, would they sound like a German?

  • If an UruguYn sang in german he should sing in german, I'm not saying he should SOUND like a german, but he should respect the german ponunciation, he should respect that "sch" sounds like "sh" he should pronounce correctly the letters with umlaut ä ö ü, any professional singer would say the same thing.
