@sorada207 in factory settings a diesel will out torque a gas engine hands down. With the right tuning, a diesel will outrun a gas engine . Diesel has much more energy output than gas. Look it up . However Diesel will never have the revs a gas engine produces. Diesel makes all of their power and torque at a low Rpm.

you cant judge by only looking at the speedo. maybe it was on the autobahn in germany. You can drive there 300km at some traject and its still save then. (you can die at low speed too) so why should you drive a car? go by train...then you dont risk your life;).

something to do with the pistons n rods, but being a 2.5 makes it worse if you wanna max out on boost.. my friends 2.0L non svt has 448 whp dynoed, his friend has the 2.3L and has less than 370 whp.. same work done, he had to restrict it. so yes all motor 2.5 might be better, no on boost when going the distance. which the 2.0 isnt done with yet, he didnt get the stroker kit yet.

What civic 1.6 does 240-250? I've never seen one. Wind resistance increases exponentially with speed. A neon has a speedo up to 240 but it'll be lucky if it can get 180 downhill because of the wind resistance. More horsepower is required. The Bugatti veyron needed something rediculous like 50 horsepower for each extra MPH. That's why the dynamics of the car changes so much in top speed mode.

Within my friends there are 5 Civic 1.6 Vtec-VTI and theu all read +/- 240 on the speedo.

They do 240 @ 8000/8500RPM on the rev limiter in 5th gear.

I know there must be a lag in the reading but, thats all i have to look at ;)
