This was the first video for this song. It was on for like 3 weeks before the negative reaction caused them to replace it with him singing on a veranda.
@Deckard5254 Until now, Ihad never seen the video for this song (though I bought the 45). It's reminds me of the cantina in "Star Wars" and also of that odd Old Spice commercial ("You don't know it, but I'm riding backwards on this horse").
The vid's fine. It's reflective of the day (December 1984/January 1985). Sci-fi/medieval themes were still big then. 18 months after Return of the Jedi came out, this mimicked the Mos Eisley cantina in A New Hope, while mixing in an unholy test tube mix of The Dark Crystal (1982), Superman II (1980), and Time Bandits (1981). Sure, it's kinda dorky to see the final mutation of that baby, but seriously, night clubs always have reptiles like this trolling about for a date.
I know this is going to sound stupid, but the chick with pink hair reminds me of this Jew broad I knew in law school.

Love the song. I have no idea what the video is suppose to represent.

@Glendale41 I know what it DOES represent: the producer's lack of talent.

@AstralRaven1928 Nah. She reminds me of a Jew broad I went to law school with. Don't ask me why.

I think this is Billy Ocean's best song. Anyone agree?
slub60 3 years ago 37
Yes I agree. The music is well made and he sings with his soul. But the video is a little stupid...

@slub60 I think the 80's has been the only decade in all of history for the best music of all times, so like forever...the '80s
