  • :-)

  • this is really old

  • WRONG INFO ITS NOT LESS ITS MORE OR FASTER

  • thumbs up if ur here from Portal video, thinking this video it's associated with Aperture Science.

  • Comment removed

  • @Whatisright So you should use the equivalent shutter speed, more than 1/85.

  • @surferboy36O no 1/50 will work I had my info mixed up. 50mm is still 50mm on any body.

  • @Whatisright Yes, it still is 50mm but it acts like an 85mm, so motion will be accentuated.

  • it sounds like a 70s video introduction hahaahha

  • You meant " are more" ( faster ) not or less( slower ). Less means a slower shutter speed thus you'll increase the likelihood of camera shake. Think time! If you open your eyes quickly you see a flash in time that is always clear less to take in. But open your eyes while turning your head and you'll not be able to focus on one particular subject for a moment or two. I know you mean well, but so many of these videos hand out incorrect information. Always pays to watch several and compare them.

  • good video and good voice, thanks

  • Very good advice, thankyou

  • dont like the voice im out

  • Hehehehehe... tripod :)

  • who paused at 0:15 ??

  • it said aperture and im thinking portal.

  • @JollyToaster haha THE CAKE IS A LIE . ;D

  • Love your voice!

  • 0:15

    awww yeeee

  • @SoapsAreStupid ahahahah!

  • nowt ?? what is that?

  • haloooo>>>>>>>see my channel

  • or, instead of spending 2 hours messing with aperture you can open photoshop and blur the bits you do not want

  • Next time type the words instead of letting us listen you!

  • thanks for the tutorial, your brill:)

  • That's really very practical information.

    Thanks

  • Thanks for the info and her voice is not creepy.

  • at 250 shutter speed my image is black whi is this? i can only go to about 1/10 to get good image.

  • @rubent100 use a higher iso and use your flash

  • @rubent100 what kind of camera do you have? check that your lense is set at A. if you are outside sunny set it from 125- 250 shutter speed. experiment with apetures usually if you are inside a buiding set the shutter speed below 100 any lower you would need a flash. Hope this helps

  • Sexy voice and great info.

  • jesus that lens is huge

  • A clearly spoken and well-presented tutorial. Pity it's attracted all the weird boys but with any luck you'll never have to meet them.

  • nice! very informative. and one more thing, it seems lara croft is teaching me about shutter and aperture! nice touch!

  • good basic info and nice african naked woman hahahha..but really good info

  • sounds like a robot

  • I think this is a pretty good tutorial and covers many points that are missing in many of the tutorials. For example the "give and take relationship' between the shutter speed and aperture if you open one you need to close the other by a stop.

  • steve hawking?

  • what about a 55-200 mm? shutter speed!

  • @valevergamaje depends on what zoom you're shooting at. If you're shooting at 55mm, then 1/55 shutterspeed or faster.

If you zoom in to 200mm, then shoot at 1/200 or second.

  • f/8 and be there

  • Good basic info, but that voice is creepy

  • @askpersonaltrainers youre fucking stupid, im a straight woman and i think her voice is fucking sexy!!! :P

ps dont be mad the cussing was just for effect lol

  • @askpersonaltrainers sounds like a robot lol

  • good video thank you

  • this is a bad video because of the words she uses .She should talk as if no one knows a thing about photography

and dont ask why i watched it I didn't know

  • she's basicly a patronising idiot lol

  • @primeribs1 - and you're a semi-literate know-all, so why don't you share some of your wisdom, Mr. Oracle?

  • Great reminders!

  • haha i missed my lessionon aperture at college photograthy... this was very helpfull. any other infomationon aperture you could inform me with... xx

  • BTW, teach me how to talk like that _D

  • i think of a lens as my eyes they open wider at night close in sun...dan

  • use this camera simulator to see how aperture and shutter speeds effects a phoho.

  • What is "Blugh?"

  • It`s "blur"

  • Ahahahahahahaha! xD

  • is there sound

  • i would like to talk like that :(

  • looooool

Well were are you from? I'm a guy from London. She's got more of a posh London accent, I have a kind of ghetto London accent as they would call it.

  • Well i don't know:P

    Argentina

  • very nicely spoken.Wouldnt you use a tripod to stop image blur at a distance or use something to steady the camera??

  • that also, faster speeds, fat tripod, wide lens all of them contribute to keep pictures sharp.

  • thanks for the reply..dan

  • Fantastic explanation , I realy liked the way she make the thing easy to understand , thank you sooo much for taking the time and uploading this video for people like me .

  • brilliant .. love you

  • Thanks :)

  • A similar misunderstanding can result in confusion when discussing apertures as the numbering system is counter intuitive i.e. 16 is a larger number than 2 which could lead one to incorrectly presume that f16 is a larger opening than f2.when we know that the opposite is true.

  • I acknowledge your point, however in my experience the use of the term "less time" can easily be misinterpreted as meaning a lesser shutter speed meaning a slower shutter speed.

Therefore for reasons of clarity I would refer to faster or slower shutter speeds rather than less or more.

  • The narator incoreectly states several times that a given focal length means having to use a given shutter speed or LESS. It should be the shutter speed or MORE to reduce camera shake.

  • The Narrator is correct. She said "1/30th of a second or less" (time). If she was to say more, it would mean a longer shutter speed because more time would mean a longer shutter duration.

  • The voice over incorrectly states that a shutter sppeed of a 30th of a sec (etc) or less should be used to reduce camera shake. It should say 30th sec or more.

  • Why doesn't she just say faster or slower shutter speed instead of more or less...it is more intuitive with faster or slower.

  • what would I do without You Tube.

    Thanks for the great tips

  • thank you, very good

  • Clear and useful explanation for people like me. I just wondering where can I find more of this kind of tutorial for Sony Alpha 100...

  • i remember that u should use a longer shutter speed for night shots..( im not sooo sure though) but anyway im still just starting!!

  • Excelente, muy buena explicación. viva la fotografía.

  • very good

  • great

  • Nicely done.

  • great.!
