I am a 24 year old female below knee amputee, and I and iffecause of a blood circulation disease and multiple blood clots in my legs I had to have my amputated. It helped me enormously to meet other amputees and see how they lived their life BEFORE my amputation. I t helped me to realize that this is not going to be the end for me only the beging! So what you are doing is helping so many people probably come to cope with their situation. So keep up the great work!!

You are great for making this video, as are the other you tubers who do these. You make things 'not so scary' for those who are just trying to deal with what feels like the end of one's life. You prove that it is not. You (and the others) prove that you can live a totally normal life despite amputations. And, maybe inspire those who are thinking they'd rather die than go through this. NOT a good choice, is it? I hope those faced with this hard choice make the right decision...that's to live.

@2hotinaz I DO realize that not every amputee was given a choice in the matter. Some lost limbs through accidents. In a way it may be easier to have the choice removed. (Not to imply that it's EVER 'easy'!) Still, I'm speaking to those who may have medical conditions requiring life-saving amputations. Doctors are not allowed to do these without 'informed consent', and quite a few people refuse, despite knowing they are basically signing their own death warrants. Please, keep helping.

Is that a suction socket ? I didn't see you screw in a valve or plug.

I recently lost a bunch of weight, 225 to 185, and my leg could no longer hold suction. Had the socket rolled with resin, still no good. I was freaking out seriously.

Then I went back up to 190, and it's working great now :>) Please tell me how your socket works. Dennis

yeah it is a suction I just dont unscrew the valve... it still releases the air when i push down

Interesting... If air gets into mine, I can make it escape out thru the top, past my leg. Same way is got in there...

I had a youngman in my 6th grade class that wore a prosthetic left leg from above the knee down. I never knew he had one until I dropped a paper and I saw this out of place foot. He took it off during class and set it out in the ailse. I can not believe he was so natural with it! Best wishes.

Because my leg has shrunk over the first six months so next week i will be getting a new socket and a smaller sized liner so that i dont have to use a sock...good question. Are you an amputee yourself?
