  • You now what's really cool about this music? They make it look so easy when they play, and yes I know that they have to have at least of century of experience between the 6 of them. Many many many years of playing fiddle. Myself, I only have 32 and I'm not going to even attempt this style, just sit back, watch and listen, good place to be.

  • lol at how they tried to get the encore

  • Dinky's was the last one then Paddy's trip to Scotland right before....what a powerful finish to this performance!

  • Does anyone know the names of the last two tunes played in the set?

  • The tunes are written in the video's description..

  • I looked around and was unable to find the video's description. Help?

  • @CircinateVernation -Fremont center -ahint da daeks o'Voe -Come awa'in -Paddy's trip to Scotland -Dinky's

  • beautiful melody ^_^ ^.^

  • I love Catriona Macdonald, she is my favorite fiddler and idol! I heard she teaches fiddle as well?

  • These women are blessed with such remarkable talent. I play Liz Carroll's tunes all the time and they are such role models.

As cheesy as it sounds, they're my idols, and heroes. x10

  • I love liz. she was my first fiddle teacher some 8 years ago. Shes my Idol!!!

  • Lucky you!

    She is great!

  • Which Liz? Liz Knowles or Liz Carroll? I LOVE them both but Liz Carroll is nothing short of amazing and she is my idol. I had the pleasure of meeting and chatting with Liz knowles, she is VERY sweet. I really enjoyed meeting her.

  • Great, wish i could play like that

  • Liz ,you got it all!.slides, double stops, dronning ,short bow, fury, shining notes, tempo. More?, impossible!! Love Lizzy!.

  • For everyone's info, the fiddlers are Catriona MacDonald (Shetland), Annbjorg Lien (Hardanger fiddler, Norway), Liz Knowles (USA), Liz Carroll (USA), and Mairead Ni Mhaonaigh of Altan/Donegal fame.

  • You left out Emma Härdelin (Sweden).

  • only what i can say it´s WOW!!!

  • this is incredible! I can only imagine seeing them live.

  • I would like to see Emma Härdelin playing the violin. The video hardly shows her.

  • Nothing short of brilliant! Liz Carroll and Liz Knowles are my heros!

  • Keep on that way ! We love it ! Phalaina

  • love that sound verry nice=)

  • mehr geht nicht..

  • very well performed Scotish MacBess.

  • silly thing to say as only one of them is irish(altan fiddler on right). liz carrol is from chicago, the hardanger and blond fiddler to left are swedish/norwegian. the curly haired fiddler is scottish. the backing band are scottish too. only one tune from that set they played is irish. :)

  • So what? it's still "the best," Irish, or not. So fun and lively. :)

  • Actually the curly haired fiddler is Liz Knowles - she is American. The blond fiddler on the left (that starts the second tune) is Catriona MacDonald from Shetland (Scotland). The dark haired girl playing with her is Annbjorg Lien from Norway. I don't know about the lady on the far left with the long brown hair though.

  • Her name is Emma Hardelin from Sweden

  • sorry, that's not Emma Hardelin. Emma, btw, usually plays with Garmarna and Triakel. Kind of cool- Garmarna is headslammer stuff and Triakel is all acoustic and traditional.

  • I'm pretty sure it IS Emma Hardelin. If you watch this video from the same concert you'll see Emma singing, with the exact same clothes and hair as the white-clad lady with the long brown hair. :)

    watch?v=Cp1907VGMv4

  • well, you're certainly right. I didn't see Emma standing off to the left- and in this set she kind of lays back. thanks for the tip.

  • Ar fheabhas! (Irish for "the best")
