the problem of pol pot's cambodia was that they are too literal in implementing ideas. I myself oppose the invasion but the vietnamese somehow doing a disciplinary action and wanting order, a systematised way for cambodia. they even wanted sihanouk also to rule same as the soviets wanted mohammad zahir to rule over afghanistan.

@khmerphilosopher when vietnam invaded in 79 i was a 14 yr old khmer rouge soldier on the front, my unit fought valiantly but could not stem the vietnamese hordes, my commander gave us the order to retreat to the thai border to fight guerrilla war, while there eventually i married my wife who persuaded me to quit fighting and we fled to america

Ok, I didn't mean that Cambodia will be under your rules, but as good friend. Don't contradict my words of friendships. We Khmers honor friendships, but friends shouldn't take advantage of friends. Cambodian aren't (Champa)...We are independent people and love pace, but if one wish ill on us, then we'll had to define that cause. I admire your wisdom and fairness. The Khmer are great people. You have a glorious history and Ankor is a proof of that. The Vietnamese did the right thing to invade Cambodia in 1978 because of Pol Pot . But afterward they became an acupation force and made so many mistakes toward the Cambodians therefore it is understandable that many Cambodians stil habour hatred against the Vietnamese today. But with more people like you on both sides we can become good friends.
