This is amazing (1st time seeing this) it does bring up the question can The Doctor be black (or indeed other races/species) or as shown in Fatal Death can he regenerate into a woman? would love a canonical answer.

Lenny Henry is brilliant in this and Thatchos was hilarious (also reminded me of Miss Hartigan in The Next Doctor but without the political angle) Wish more parodies like this existed today (rather than just the official Comic Relief / Children in Need sketches like Time Crash)

It's never ben spelled out that a Time Lord couldn't regenerate into a different race or sex, but at the same time it's never been shown to happen either. Every other Time Lord the Doctor ran across has always been the same gender they were in previous regenerations. As for race, as far as I know it's only in the new series where any non-white Time Lords have been shown - except for Planet of the Spiders (the last episode of the 3rd Doctor).
