  • Hey I actually feel better about myself now knowing that I beat that game as a teen.

  • WTF!

How the hell can the Mega Drive version be inferior to this? The Mega Drive version has superior music to this lump of crap. You can't beat those Matt Furniss bass drums and snare drums on the Mega Drive port. This just looks like it's trying to emulate the Mega Drive port but fails in every aspect of doing so.

    But opinions will be opinions.

  • @Adam060756 Matt Furniss? Didn't he do the creepy music for that piece of shit Cybercop/Corporation?! No thanks...

  • Sega CD was the best version.

  • @neomysterio Yeah, the CD add on was the ONLY advantage that the Genesis had over the SNES. Other than that, SNES was always better.

  • This is not an easy game, but it is fun.

  • here you see the giant difference between the snes processor speed and the Genesis one. Genesis version simply has NO loading screen and has more levels and speech, with the same graphics. Genesis does what nintendon't!

  • @RomuloTheBrazilian SNES is what Genesisn't, Sega fan fuck! And you're a liar, because all the speech in the Genesis is also in the SNES. You just can't accept the fact that the SNES was superior and so were the multi-platform games on it, and that it won the 16-bit wars. Loading time? Big fucking deal. It was only a few seconds anyway. The ONLY advantage the Genesis had over the SNES was the Sega CD, and THAT'S IT.

  • @ClassicGameLover LOL U MAD BRO?

  • @RomuloTheBrazilian 4 CHAN FAG!

  • @ClassicGameLover 4 Chan fag? Seriously, how do you come up with these retarded statements? xD

  • @ClassicGameLover if you want to defend the snes version, that's your right, but this doesn't mean you can bash anyone who thinks (with reason) that the Genesis version is better. if the snes version is supposed to be better than the Genesis one, how do you explain the lack of some levels? (the tower ones and the secret bonus stage that only appeared on the Genesis and the Sega CD) chill out and start respecting people's opinions before going mad >_>

  • @ClassicGameLover Sega fan fuck? Wow. Thats a new one, nintendo nerd. :D

  • @LTRP300 LMAO see his new comment XD

just because he got owned now I'm a 4chan member XDDDDD

  • @ClassicGameLover What about the more powerful CPU? What about the DMA and faster bus speeds? What about the more flexible sound system? What about the ease of development?

And I can bring up a decent number of multiplatform games that are better on the Genesis. For one shooters are definitely better. Most SNES shooters suffer from slowdown when you shoot, which is simply unacceptable in the genre.

  • good animations and stuff but from watching I'd think that Magical Quest was way better

  • ya this game was a headache, but classic

  • I used to play this game back in the old days when I was little.

    This drove me insane :P

  • The ps1 version of this game was the first game i ever played!

  • I played this game for the first time today at my friend's house. It's fun, but MAN it's tough! Great graphics for its time, for sure.

  • "That was Mickey Mouse's first cartoon"

    NO! That was Plane Crazy.

Sorry Mickey Mouse nerdism coming through :)

  • sega megadrive version is superior.better sound effects, better music, same graphics and more solid gameplay.

  • I must make time to play the Genesis version soon. Considering how everyone keeps saying it's the better version over the SNES port.

  • @jct546

How is the SEGA Genesis Port of Mickey Mania superior than the SNES Port? I thought that both versions were identical?

  • @Riddler95 Honestly I don't know. I prefer the SNES version, but it seems the majority of gamers prefer the Genesis version.

  • @jct546 yeah SNES version is much better

  • @Riddler95 It's not superior. The people who say that are just butt-hurt Sega fans who can't accept that SNES had superior hardware and better games.

  • @ClassicGameLover thanks for the info. I got a copy of Mickey Mania for the Super Nintendo back in July of 2011.

  • @alak58 the PS1 version is the best version

the ps1 version named "Mickey's Wild Adventure"

  • @alak58 Fuck you, Sega fanfuck! The SNES port is always better save for Pit-Fighter (but that game sucks no matter what system it's on)

  • I think you were thinking of Runaway Brain (1995)

  • mega drive version was a lot better it had more special effects and parts of the levels where removed for the snes port not to mention less speech

  • @wizzgamer The best was probably the SEGA CD/Playstation version. CD quality and it have Mickey actually speak. (e.g. "You look awfully familiar" to SW Mickey, "Cheese- my favorite" in the Giant's Kitchen) There was even an extra boss, like the moose except it's the Giant.

  • @wizzgamer WTF are you talking about? The SNES version had all the voice clips from the MegaDrive one. And only the Sega CD version is better than the SNES version, because well it's a CD for one, and THAT is the one with more speech, and it also has redbook audio. The MegaDrive's music sounds like a film score for a shitty 80's movie.

  • man this game was brutal

  • Nice review, you're right this game is hard but does have good graphics. The farthest I've ever been is the level where you're running from the moose haha.

  • After watching this review i buyed the game from a local gamestore 'cause i thought all the games there suck, but i was lucky to find this. Its a good game. Damn good. BTW: Can u speed up in retrearing the moose in lvl 3? Or do u just die everytime u hit the water.

  • Try your best to jump over the water, and be sure to collect the green apples, they speed you up and you will need them to get away from the moose.

  • thx dude...

  • I used to play this game in my friends house on PS1 nearly every day :). I'm gonna try to find a copy for SNES on eBay.

BTW, another good game by Sony Imagesoft was Flashback.

  • Flashback? As in the game that played like "Out of This World/Another World"? If so, Sony Imagesoft had nothing to do with that game.

  • Oh, maybe they only had something to do with it in Europe. I have a European SNES copy and a Sony Imagesoft logo appears at the start.

  • Oh i see. Maybe they published it in Europe. Excellent game though. I have to review it eventually.

  • Hey i remember this game! used to play it on ps1 like 10 years ago. Must admit it was kinda hard to beat.

  • Ah yes the Euro and Aus only PS1 release. I was really pissed when i found out it wasn't coming out in the states. =(

  • Greatest Mickey game ever made. I wish they'd rerelease it for download on the new consoles.

  • Despite what you say the genesis version was a little better then the SNES one in some aspects.

  • Actually, the cartoon that debuted around this time was Runaway Brain.

  • Thanks for the correction. I wasn't sure about that at all haha.

  • damn i hated this game.

  • i agree with you, in the mad doctor level where youre on the moving table, you can actually die if you land ON THE FLOOR, YOU HAVE TO LAND ON ANOTHER TABLE!!! WTF!

  • I could never beat that level.
