@xdaysx I studied Holes in grade 5, and I found it to be a lot better. It was more modern, and it was written for schoolchildren, so it was easier to digest. I honestly hate how they shove this pointless, dry, and boring nonsense down our throats when most people don't do the work and just get their information from sparknotes anyways. If they would let us choose from more modern books then we might actually learn something from analyzing it.

@xdaysx I didn't find it to be that much better, but there is so much material they could have used but they either changed it or left it out of the movie. The director for this movie did not make a good or accurate intrepretation from the book. I wish we could do better books and movies for our school assignments, instead of boring stuff like this or To Kill A Mockingbird X(
