Are you really short, or is that grinder set up way to high???
Oh, buy the way, you should be marking the entire bevel. If you mark it the way you are and don't have the rest set right, it will still take your marking off the way your doing it. At which point you will have a double bevel, duh!
@draygore She has the grinder a little higher than normal but it's OK for her. I don't know any experienced turner who has their grinder at bench height - too cramped. When swinging a long gouge through a big arc you need to be standing up so you can move freely. I find chest height is right for me.
And first of all you have no safety glasses on.
