  • Sounds pretty normal to me...

  • I like that Jew is in the tag

  • Gilbert Gottfreid's voice is creepier.

  • @Spike20TRILLION well, the difference is 911 happened centuries ago.

  • @EP1KCAMPER Then you'll get yours too.

  • He did his regular voice on Saturday Night Live.

  • @Spike20TRILLION Well, he got booed on 9/11 jokes!

  • @thawhtet8 but he made an aristocrat joke.!

  • @Spike20TRILLION

"I think it's total b.s how Gilbert got fired for making fun of the Tsunami tidal wave in Japan"

Aflac is the 3rd largest insurer in Japan.

    That's why he got fired.

    Dumbshit.

    Learn to research.

  • @Romansteel13 Aflac is huge in Japan...

  • @Spike20TRILLION double standards are when people rank on people and can't spell. It just dispelled any point you're trying to make.In case you are wondering what I'm talking about......STANDARDS does not have an 'e'.

  • Gilbert is one of the funniest people ever!!

  • @Spike20TRILLION wanda sykes should be killed anyway.

  • @Spike20TRILLION first of all, he made fun of 911, second of all, Aflac fired him because they do most of their buisness in japan, so it was more like they fired him to save their buisness not out of moral concern, in that case, I don't see the double standard.

  • @Spike20TRILLION It was only because it was too soon.

  • @Spike20TRILLION I'd be more satisfied if they just fired Wanda Sykes for not being funny.

  • Anyone who is familiar with early SNL knows that Gilbert is capable of being funny with some actual use of his annoying voice as "yelling" rather than just talking that way all of the time. He really needs to realize that instead of being "that guy"

  • I'd take creepy serial killer voice to annoying parrot voice any day...

  • Closest I heard to this was in Ford Fairlane as Johnny Crunch. "...you Suzuki samurai son of a bitch."

  • @Spike20TRILLION

but both the tsunami and 9/11 are hilarious

  • why use that voice? it makes peoples ears bleed

  • that sounded like Warren Jeffs is the son of Rulon Jeffs. His father, the leader of the FLDS Church at his death, was survived by 19 or 20 wives and had about 60 children.[11] No information is available about Warren Jeffs on the FLDS website, although according to the BBC Storyville programme "Leaving the Cult", he has 31 daughters

  • He could do a fine job at voicing the Joker from Batman I'd say... anyone else agree?

  • @Spike20TRILLION Aflac does most of their business in Japan. If Aflac did most of their business in Manhattan, and he did a 9/11 joke in October 2001, he'd certainly be fired.

  • I don't get it. Sounds normal... is it just me?

  • @Spike20TRILLION It's about timing. When Gottfried made a 9/11 joke in 2011 people got angry, it's been ten years since then and people are finally comfortable with it. The tsunami was recent and people get the "too soon" reaction. Not to mention, the tsunami killed a great many more people and caused much more damage.

  • it's a completely normal voice. not creepy at all.

  • @WeCantBeSeen its a fuckin joke

  • I have a hunch he will voice GTA V's main character with his real voice.

  • I figured his voice was at least SOMEWHERE in the ballpark of his "stage" voice...still high and screechy, but obviously not as exaggerated.

I'm really shocked he sounds so low-key.

I've never understood the guy's appeal anyway. Occasionally funny (see Comedy Central roasts), but mostly just awfully annoying.

  • @Spike20TRILLION

    >standered

  • @xmoodudex63

    >green texting

  • @isaiahismuhnigga

    oh you

  • ur kidding?? No bitch your stupid!

  • @Spike20TRILLION No.... the point is that NONE of them should be fired.

  • his sister lived in the building i used to work in ide see him from time to time and when i first saw him i had to talk to him and he sounded like that it was a trip he was old than i remember but it was him go figure right

  • aaaaiiigh! That is scary.

  • what a shock but its so normal why does he use that voice doesnt that hurt his throat is that the only way to be funny?

  • @Spike20TRILLION He made fun of Aflac's clients. 9/11 victims are not the clients of the companies those comedians might work for.

  • Lol

  • I don't think he remembers his "real" voice :D

  • 1:16

  • hes 1n of the best comedians out there

  • I don't think that's his real voice.

  • Plus he did say, "I think it's total b.s." He is entitled to his freedom of thought. Ty.

  • @joeromel1 I didn't bother to illuminate Mr. Spike20trillion because with reasoning like that, I don't think he nor his (atm) 9 thumbs up followers would even understand your clarification.

  • @pierrevalois00 U mad?

  • @Spike20TRILLION It isn't a double standard. Wanda Sykes doesn't work for Aflack, so the people who fired Gilbert for his jokes weren't the same people who didn't fire Wanda for hers. In order for there to be a double standard, you need the people or government or company making the decision to be the same. Like if I fired Gilbert but not Wanda for the same thing, then yes, that would be a double standard. But if you fired Gilbert and I said ti was okay for Wanda, then it wouldn't be.

  • @Spike20TRILLION Actually Gilbert made jokes about 9/11 pretty much right after it happened in his performances. NOT THAT I agree with him fired, I just wanted to throw that fact out.

  • He talked more or less in this voice in an episode of Are You Afraid of the Dark.

  • This has ruined my childhood!

  • @cloud69err I feel you! lol. I want him to be the ecstatic jew i loved from birth!

  • Oh wow so you mean everyone is actually just acting and is not anything like what they pretend to be? Blowing my mind.

  • How does he sound scary?? 0.0 .... fucking pussies.

  • I don't know. It doesn't sound real in my opinion, though you never know.

  • @spike20trillion I agree 100%

  • @Spike20TRILLION, that doesn't make any sense. It's an employers right to fire you for whatever reason they want as long as it's non-discriminatory. I understand where you're coming from, but it's important not to forget that. Protecting freedom matters the most when it's something you don't like.

  • @TheBoxingCannabyte Ya but they should have know he would have offensive jokes. That's what he does.

  • @rp1dmc, I agree

  • no freakin way

  • I think it sounds creepy as in I'm used to his off stage voice, but it isn't creepy in the way that he sounds like a serial killer. He sounds normal.

  • wow didnt know this was his real voicewhy is he using his fake voice in the studio..he sounds normal

  • @rctriplefresh5 It's his character. Actors adopt stage names for a few reasons, including professional requirements (they cannot share the name of another actor). Another reason is that they sometimes separate stage and private lives/personas.

When Gilbert is "on", he becomes that troll-like character he's known for. When he's "off", he's himself. People employ stage-Gilbert.

  • This the only Time Stern is funny nowadays, when Gilbert is on. I listen to Stone & Digital Dave now.

  • @ReligiousThugNerd - yea no SHIT

  • 1 :11 real voice

  • 1: 16

  • And this is why no one listens to stern anymore.

  • @proanti1 yeah right dumbass!!!! hes got all kinds of listeners how the fuck do you think he got a better deal to resign with a lot more days off!!!!!

  • @jhatt25 Oh my god, you are such a fucking idiot. Stern pays out of his own pocket to stay on the air. He doesn't have shit for listeners.

  • @proanti1 never mind i didnt know i was arguing with a fucking retard!!!! you should be in the whack pack

  • STFU! HE SOUNDS NORMAL! HATERS GONNA HATE!!!

  • LOL hahahahahahahahahhaahh

  • holy shit

  • Gilbert was great on Problem Child movies

  • You know, I saw him on that old Nickelodeon show, Are You Afraid of the Dark--it was sort of a Goosebumps ripoff but it was okay. He played a radio DJ for a station that talked only about death. It's funny, because the "on-air" voice he used for the DJ was his real voice with a haughty accent. The "off-air" voice was the one he was most known for, the loud, grating one. An exact reversal of reality. If I hadn't seen that all those years ago, I wouldn't believe this.

  • @TheAcriNom Umm, how can it be a rip-off if "Are You Afraid of the Dark" came out BEFORE Goosebumps?? If anything, Goosebumps is a rip-off of "Are You Afraid of the Dark."

  • @MumbleSlam Mea culpa. Are You Afraid of the Dark didn't air where I was at the time until several years after the Goosebumps books had already been out.

  • @TheAcriNom The pilot for AYAOTD aired a year before the release of the Goosebumps book series in the USA and two years prior in Canada. Fail. Research before you make assumptions.

  • @TheIceOfJan I was all of fourteen when I saw that show for the first time, and it was years after I first read Goosebumps. It was a mistake, I apologized. And it has very little to do with the rest of comment.

  • Well, I'm an ass. I always though that he had angry voice, know I no the truth. LOL!

  • The people interviewing him are assholes

  • @BruceLeDouche its howard stern,of course hes a asshole thats why we love him lol

  • Kinda scraping the bottom of the barrel they are

  • @TheJDorian Indeed. I agree

  • I can't stand Gilbert Gottfried. He was a guest judge on Next Food Network Star, and used that voice the whole time to get away with being a huge dick, including calling one of the contestants a soulless zombie as she cried.

  • @rottureWIP He was paid to be a jerk. He was their "Simon Cowell."

  • @rottureWIP There giving someone a TV show, They have to be tough.

  • AFLAC!!!!!!!!!!

  • @gregarious24 MAjor medical boyyyyyyyyy

  • Bricks. Were just shat.

  • Howard is the man!

  • wow, thats kinda disturbing!

  • thats weird

  • What's the name of that radio show and does it have a podcast on iTunes?

  • @ThePaudybyrne It's freakin' Howard Stern.

  • @ThePaudybyrne

    Holy shit LOL

  • that's not his real voice.....he's just doing his groucho lol

  • Holy crap, he sounds like a friend of my sister's friend when he's talking normally! O_o

  • gilbert may not have the best stand up shows, but he is the best stand up comedian in history.

  • Gilberts ONLY tallent is talking like Llago the parrot... without it he's that weird pedophile you always see alone at the park NOT workin out just starin at everybody... "Gilbert... Chris Hanson Dateline NBC sit down mI'd like to talk with you a minute!" d0L~b >\/,,

  • @Sc0rPi0n42o Lol what a completely ignorant and childish comment

  • @Sc0rPi0n42o i bet you tried real hard and thought that was funny

  • He was on SNL in the 80's..

Didn't anyone hear him talk then?

He talked with his normal voice.

    It's not "rarely heard".

  • @gretaisacat He was on SNL during the era where no one watched. Kind of like today's SNL.

  • to me it sounds a bit like gene simmons

  • fafafooey

  • NOOOO, he can't sound normal. That is so wrong on a cosmic level.

It's like catching your grandparents havig sex. No matter how much you want to forget you can't

  • Damn... now he will never be funny again cause I know he's faking the voice.

  • Gilbert's show voice turned into his real voice 20 years ago. Seriously, he has to make an effort to be normal.

  • Everyone on this show is annoying as all fuck. Minus gilbert of curse.

  • I'm reminded of a Married With Children episode where they realize that even Kelly doesn't remember what her real hair color is. I wonder if Gilbert's the same way about his real voice by now.

  • Hahahaa serial killr Gilbert hahahaa

  • Listening to Gilbert's regular speaking voice is like watching John Mahoney (the dad from Frasier) walk without a limp.

  • Larry the Cable Guy is in character all the time also. You didn't really think he was a redneck did you? It's all satire.

  • no...way...

  • i meet him in real life down in Indiana at NAP 2009 and he is cool as hell.

  • wow! that was....unexpected

    that's really interesting! :D

  • Wait. Is this real? Is that what he really sounds like?

  • Dan Whitney? Dan Whitney...hmmm. And here I was thinking that Lary the Cable guy (Oh, you did mention cable) is Dan Whitney. Perhaps....they are one in the same, lol. Thanks Screami' for keeping it interesting. Uhh, duhhh, Gilbert Go free!

  • it's not his voice thats creepy, its that he can change it so well. "gilbert mason" ahahaha

  • I hope he lives a long successful life. Haters gonna hate, but I LOVE this guy.

  • He's the Jew version of Joe Pesci.

  • That's amazing! I've seen Gilbert Gottfried in movies, shows, interviews, on stage over the last 20 years, and I never knew his voice was just an act.

  • charlie manson was not a serial killer

  • @VicodinKing91 You get somebody else to do it, or you do it yourself. Either way, it takes that certain mentality. It's like, somebody's a serial killer mentally, before they even do anything. But the neighbours are always shocked. lol

  • haha

  • it just sounds like a normal voice...

  • I agree with other commenters. He sounds normal, not creepy.

But you know who else has a sage voice? Larry the Cable Guy. "Larry" is actually a character. And his accent is faked.

  • @ScreamingInTheCalle Yeah his real name is Dan Whitney. I wonder if any of his fans actually have cable? Or do you think that they watch the bug zapper & throw shit at tornados to keep themselves entertained?

  • @ScreamingInTheCalle holy shit i didnt kno that

  • @ScreamingInTheCalle Dan Whitney from Nebraska, quite the Southern twang he has LOL.

  • @ScreamingInTheCalle Larry the Cable guy is a sage? I KNEW IT.

  • @rmbkmlewis Haha. That was a typo, but I laughed when I noticed it.

  • @ScreamingInTheCalle *stage voice

  • @ScreamingInTheCalle thanks for breaking the news. nobody knew.

  • @ScreamingInTheCalle Yep his name is Dan, but he's open about this :P

  • Pshhhh Fuck that Gilbert

  • I can't unhear this...

  • Who is the guy that sounds like Gilbert in this? "I like when they start crying during their own thing"

  • @newjackridi It's Gilbert

  • I also remember when Gilbert was hosting USA's Up All Night (when USA used to air B-movies on late night Friday and Saturdays) and one episode had the producers "drugging" his drink and caused him to speak normally...very odd, but very cool to hear "normal" Gilbert.

  • Serial killer? What the fuck are those assholes talking about?

  • @JesusEffingChrist69, his voice is so measured and flat there, I do get the serial killer comment.

  • It's very strange imagining someone with a face like that having a deep, mellow voice like that. I'd expect either Gottfried's screech or a downright wussy voice, like David Archuleta, who has a similarly nebbish-y face.

  • Gilbert Gottfried isnt jewish.

  • @notsofrail his wife is Jewish though i think

  • @notsofrail, everything I've ever read on him refers to him as a Jewish comedian. He may not be practicing from a religious standpoint, but in terms of ethnic heritage I think he is.

  • I'm pretty damn sure he is, or my name isn't Seymour Cream Cheese Dreidelberg

  • They should do a Chuck Norris Roast.

  • I totally get what Howard means. I also totally love Gilbert. He's so fucking funny and dirty, and politically incorrect. One of the few comedians left that refuse to change their act because of the Orwellian thought police. He sounds creepy to me! Sounds like the CPS worker that used to hassle me. I think he was a peter puffer.

  • Unbelievable.

  • why the fuck is jew in the tags

  • @TheAlliesCanHelp ...He's a Jew.

  • @TheGame1842 oooooooooooooooooh so jews can be funny

  • @TheAlliesCanHelp cause howard stern is a jew..and I m pretty sure Gilbert is too

  • wow he sounds like a normal person :D

  • That is truly his voice. He is actually a very nice guy. He and his family lived in the same building as I did growing up. Good people. His act is all Schtick.

  • Gilbert was on SNL for 1 year when he was very young. He never used the voice then.

  • Wow I seriously thought that was his NORMAL voice and yeah I'm a big fan of his comedy as well, wow oh wow oh wow. I thought he had a fucking like voice condition.

  • Hmm...For some peculiar reason, I don't believe this. Why could that possibly be?...Oh, I know! Because GILBERT ISN'T THERE TO CONFIRM IT! Don't you think it's kind of a jerk-off thing to do for a couple of people to claim some guy's voice is some other guy's real voice when the latter isn't there to confirm it?

  • @YourFaceWillDie468 He is there you dumbass

  • @kris7bs o_o

Yeah, now that I WATCH THE WHOLE GODDAMN VIDEO and pay closer attention, I realize he is there. [eye-rolling emoticon] Sometimes I just don't give a shit and blurt out assumptions before checking if they're wrong.

  • @crazynsober2day haha that is not him or his voice on the phone recording. i mean they laugh when howard is introducing the clip, that alone gives it away. im not saying gilbert doesn't exaggerate the character voice a little but, it's not far off from his real voice

  • To be able to stay "in character", pretty much all the time, takes considerable talent. I admire Gilbert for that.

  • @Colddeed That's why I like Colbert too!

  • @Colddeed true but u have to admit the character voice sound much better than the chilling out of character voice lol

  • Not creepy at all. They're framing it that way because it makes the reveal exciting. He just sounds like some dude.

  • this mustve been embarrassing for gilbert...I'm pretty sure everyone with a brain knows that this guys real voice could never be a constant impossible mix of screeching and growling but this is a hardcore national exposure of the illusion

  • Real voice = aladdin parrot

  • the voice you hear on the movies and tv is his real and only voice. fuckin people will believe anything!

  • @ChillFi5ty i guess you believe that bobcat goldwaith's real voice is the voice he uses on screen also?

  • That's not his real voice, but his calm voice. He talked so many times during the news while cracking up and that voice and laugh you can't fake. He just exaggerates it.
