Listen, here is why it is unfair to not sponsor trains. Really it's as simple as this. Not all roads are toll roads because they are, guess what, sponsored by the government and maintained by TAX dollars. Trucks are infact inefficient and constantly hurt the road far more then normal cars should, so in reality if they forced truckers to pay more due to the huge damages they cause to the road then all of a sudden there might be more railways to haul goods. Simple as that.
Also, trains are in fact more efficient in the long run anyways, but they don't do it due to the initial high capital investment since trucking is essentially supported by the government. I don't think all trucks should go away obviously, just used only for short haul. Our system is so inefficient as it currently is.

If they had it would be clear the bulk of the intelligence estimates regarding Iraq's WMD programs were taken almost verbatim from the report. The Conventions are for "conventional" wars - like the name implies. Guerilla fighters, by default, put the non-combatant civilians at great risk and fullfill the criteria of spies and sabotuers under those Conventions.

California especially cant afford not to have a rail system. We desperately need one. Traffic is expected to increase from now to 2020:
64 percent on I-5 between San Diego and Los Angeles
56 percent on I-5 between Los Angeles and Bakersfield
65 percent on 99 in Central Valley at Bakersfield
60 percent on I-580 between Bay Area and Stockton
Simply widening the freeway will do nothing to help, you would know this if you had to commute daily in California.

And really, if it werent for GM & Chevron and their patents and veto power over the sale, licensing and marketing NiMH battery technology, we could have full electric vehicles that can charge quickly and keep a charge for over 300 miles, at about the price of your average fossil fuel car, while having far greater acceleration capabilities due to the superiority of electric motors.

What are you smoking? Most people want limited government and lower taxes. They want the government out of their lives as much as possible. Why would you want the government making decisions about your health care? Kucinich-Conyers legislation (passed 25-19) allows states to establish single payer. The so-called "free market" healthcare is far more costly than single payer, as single payer requires far less overhead costs, which account for almost 1/3 of all costs. If this system was so bad, the Canadians wouldn't name their healthcare architect Tommy Douglas the greatest Canadian of all time.

High speed rail. Are you kidding? You liberals would take all the cars off the road if you could. Again it's a waste off money. People in this country like their cars and will not ride the train which means the train will not be able to earn a profit and hence the taxpayer will end up supporting it just like Amtrak. Don't you like cars at least a little bit? I love my Jeep 4.7 liter V8, 265 horse power, gets about 12 mpg but it's so worth it.

Im not a liberal, and I never said I wanted to ban cars, dont be ridiculous. Its not a waste of money, it saves on gas costs, external costs on families (oil changes, tire changes, insurance, etc), rids of pollution, the costs of road upkeep is lowered because there is less traffic to pound on the tarmac, and subsequently less cost to the taxpayer from where upkeep funds originate, and saves money from commute time. Listen, here is why it is unfair to not sponsor trains. Really it's as simple as this. Not all roads are toll roads because they are, guess what, sponsored by the government and maintained by TAX dollars. Trucks are infact inefficient and constantly hurt the road far more then normal cars should, so in reality if they forced truckers to pay more due to the huge damages they cause to the road then all of a sudden there might be more railways to haul goods. Simple as that.

Also, trains are in fact more efficient in the long run anyways, but they don't do it due to the initial high capital investment since trucking is essentially supported by the government. I don't think all trucks should go away obviously, just used only for short haul. Our system is so inefficient as it currently is.
