  • What technique..... Doug, you rock.

  • I am amazed, fantastic!!

  • WHy does this song make me sleepy? This song is a great song! Yet it makes me sleepy? Well I have heard it 3 times already prior to this video. Maybe if I listen to it 10 times, I'll finally get some sleep at night 8D

  • Incredible guitarist, incredible musician, incredible music...

  • Doug is really fun to watch live. If you get the chance, don't pass it up!

  • I like how its fast pace and soft

  • Love the Doug Smith sound.

  • I love finding new fingerstyle guitar heros.

  • incredible!

  • i've seen many comments on his fingernails....people say his nails don't matter, which is true to a point but not entirely....if he didn't have the nails then the sound wouldn't be as crisp as if he used just his fingers. many fingerstylists grow their nails out for that reason (or just buy fake ones) just look at don ross or andy mckee. sssssoooo his nails kind of DO matter.....the whole point is the music so it doesn't really matter what it looks like. just close your eyes if you dont like it

  • I saw Doug Smith perform at McCabe's Guitar Shop (Santa Monica, Calif) back in the 1990s. Mesmerizing.

  • Wow, amazing! What kind of guitar is that? I can't see the logo at the end of the fretboard! Awesome song, need to learn it!

BTW, who cares about his fingernails, the music is what this vid is all about!

  • Wonderful...!

  • What about them? He's obviously chosen to grow them to pick multiple strings with.

  • I bet his nails are longer than your prick ignorant fool..

  • This is one of the first videos i faved, years ago. I now have over 300 faves, and this is still one of my favorite faves.

  • What a coincidence. I just checked my first favs, and this one was amongst them. Brilliant song!

  • I would like to know... i mean you're so interesting and all... do you also like icecream?

  • Yes.

  • what style of playing is this classified under? I want to learn how to play and I want to learn this percussive style

  • True music originates from only one person: you.

  • So what others make is crap?

  • There is no 'category' within the art.

Buy a guitar - and express yourself. ;-)

  • There's definately a category for you..

  • One might call this contemporary classical guitar.

  • Just pick up a guitar and mess around, eventually you should find your own style.

    no pain no gain.

  • this is wonderfull, i'm absolutely going to learn this!

  • My dad's good friends with him and always told me how great he was.. but now that i see him play.. WOW!! I'm AMAZED!
