  • Brilliantly written.

  • I'm not a huge Mycroft fan, but the whole "You're not haunted by the war, Doctor Watson, you miss it. Welcome back." was the line that truly hooked me on this show. I finally realized "DANG. THIS IS INTERESTING."

  • I thought Mycroft was taller and rough hewn gangly type from my reading

  • @ken38urb I think in the books Mycroft /Sherlock are about the same height, but Mycroft is supposed to be hugely fat. Not that it makes any difference here, because I agree with the post below, Mark Gatiss is very good as Mycroft

  • I automatically thought this was Moriarty when I first saw it, haha.

  • There's something about the way Mark Gatiss plays Mycroft. It gives the character more substance than it normally has. I think he is a great Mycroft!

  • mycroft is deducting john................

  • Is it only me or umbrella is actually an important part of Mycroft's appearance?

  • 1 dislike ? go fuck yourself

  • Gattis was stinkin brilliant in this scene,,,,,I really thought he was Moriarity at first...stupid me!!

  • @MsBooda77 If he had been Moriarty, that would have been a huge mistake by the creators of the show. In the books, I think, Moriarty didn't appear in person before The Final Problem

  • Mycroft is really a very inteligent man, well what do you expect, he is Sherlock's brother after all, it must run in the family.lol

  • at 1:31 does anyone else notice Mycroft's wearing a golden ring? Engagement ring?

  • @bellarosecullen145 no, wedding ring, he's married

  • @RonanMacQuarrie to? sorry i dont know the sherlock stories that well. but it says in the young SH that Mycroft was 2 busy 2 get married

  • @bellarosecullen145 its the wrong hand for an engagement or wedding ring, they go on your left hand :)

  • @Scamrasc We are a mish mash of regional accents. There is no standard accent here.

  • @Scamrasc There are just as many varying accents in the south of England as there are in the North of England. For example, compare a Bristol accent (SW England) to an Essex accent (SE England), neither sound anything alike. I like this show, but it is heavily catered for the American market. Virtually everyone in Sherlock speaks in a stereotypical 'British accent.' There are hardly any regional accents in it - and as anyone from England or who has visited England will know, we are a mish mash

  • watson is so bad asssssssh

  • Its funny because at first you would think he is Moriarty.

  • Comment removed

  • @BrielleJeanMarie First episode, "A Study in Pink"

  • @ShadowPuppetStudios - Thanks- I think I watched a different version of it- dont know how

  • Occasionally he is the British government ,the most indispensable man in the country

    he is Mycroft

  • When i first heard of sherlocks brother i thought his name was minecraft.

  • british tv series are awesome intellect and humour are poared in

  • Originally thought Mycroft was Moriarty. Great bait and switch in my opinion.

  • @JakeChelseaFan yep, me too,, but i neglected it, since Moriarty would never pay, watson.

then i knew that the gay who was introduced later on the series was Moriarty, because of the awkward part, when he was first seen in a very serious scene.

  • I'm English :D

  • This is the best thing on TV right now, anywhere.

  • I have seen Benedict Cumberbatch's penis live on stage lol during Frankenstein in the national theatre. So awkward watching Sherlock now.

    P.S: It was small. lolz.

  • @MstrMonstar I saw that as well haha!

  • @MstrMonstar you're ignorant if you think a small flacid penis in a trait in which to belittle someone. have u ever heard of grower not a shower? the only people to notice things like small penises, and tell everyone about it, are insecure small men with alot of social skills and issues to work on, or sluts.

  • @daveumbridge It was a joke. Oh, and I don't have issues thankyou for assuming that. I'm guessing by saying that, you feel like the mature one? If I was being serious the mature thing to do would of just ignored it. But hey? You seem so overly passionate about small penis' that you want to stick up for them. Dosen't that meen your an insecure 'small' person. Think about it. I am not going to get into an argument about small penis' though. I really don't care, ha. Bye.

  • @MstrMonstar Sometimes I wonder how a Sherlock video can make 2 overgrown egos talk about penises.

  • @daveumbridge Oh, and have you ever heard of capital letters? You should use them. Just saying!

  • @MstrMonstar then you carry it on. there was no show of passion, but you internet trolls seem to generate self satisfaction when pointing out shit about other people. so im not insecure, because this is the internet, and i said nothing that connotes insecurity. im simply noticing your probable motive behind saying it. you're not freud, so shut up.

  • @daveumbridge I',m a troll? Fuck off. Dick.

  • This is my favourite sceen of the two series so far.

  • Great new spin on Sherlock Holmes with a brilliant Watson. ... but jeremy B and Edward Hardwicke were the best in my opinion.

  • I love the new Sherlock, but Jeremy Brett is still the best one.

  • Do you American's get this programme over there? 'Cause it's so so good.

    Thats how it should be

    Thats how it should be

  • XD It's scenes like this that make Sherlock such a good television show. XD Scandal in Belgravia was awesome! XD It totally makes up for the Doctor Who Chistmas special, which was slightly lacking. XD Sherlock for the win! XD

  • Ladies and gentlemen, it's Mycroft Holmes, the perfect life-ruiner.

  • l have to say, this film does not seem to bad... But I have difficultys, about this new fangeled film, in the none Georgian times !

Jeremy brett, the" ULTIMATE" Sherlock Holmes of all times ! If you have seen the series on BBC, or indeed read the book Sherlock Holmes,The complete stories, drawn by Sidney Paget in the Strand Magazine then you will find out how wrong this is !

  • @1339LARS This isn't typical Sherlock Holmes, but is an excellently written revision.

  • ...I'm glad I am British.

  • IT'S FINALLY BACK! ARG!

  • I love this series!! I enjoyed the fresh take on the Sherlock Holmes stories. Is it going to continue? Please say it will.

  • @3Authoress

    New season started last night.

  • @3Authoress yep the new season is going to air soon.

  • I love this show!

  • mmm martin freeman nomnomnom

  • Mycroft I presume.

  • He'll always be Tim from The Office to me.

  • 3 eps was so not enough.

  • I was kind of hoping Watson would trip that guy with his crutch.

  • This makes a nice companion clip to the ride in the cab when Holmes explains how he knew Watson had been in Afghanistan. Could anyone person every have to be the object of *brothers* with the same gifts!! ;)

  • Mark Gatiss gives me chills as Mycroft. It's especially funny because I was initially convinced he was Moriarty. XD

  • @GoldenTalesGeek Thanks for the reminder that he was played by Gatiss! I'm not sure if I'd forgotten or just didn't know. Either way I like being aware of all of his work: writing or acting, Doctor Who, Sherlock, and, of course, anything and everything else! ;)

  • @xpaddy01 No problem. Mark is one of my fave actors and writers. In fact, I rung in the New Year listening to one of his Doctor Who audio dramas from Big Finish. He has a knack for balancing the comedy and the macabre without losing a sense of fun throughout. :)

  • @GoldenTalesGeek I've only been back into DW since April this year (I think we came in on "The Day of the Moon" (and playing catch up starting with series 5, then going back to series 1, then 2, so far), but I try to look into all the other things the actors and writers do, not just for DW or, now, Sherlock (brilliant stuff, btw, I think Cumberbatch is on a par with Brett, if only because they're perferct for their respective times. And Martin Freeman as Watson is beyond words he's so good! :) )

  • @GoldenTalesGeek The first time I saw this episode, I thought he was Moriarty as well! But I was happy he turned out to be Mycroft... I still see him as Mickey from "League of Gentlemen" xD

  • @gerardwfreak I have not seen "League of Gentlemen" yet. I hear it's dark and funny, which means I'll probably love the hell out of it. :)

  • This is Brilliant! I just love Mycroft! I want to smother him in motherly love XP

  • I love Mark Gatiss' performance. Mycroft is my favourite character in the series.

  • SHERLOOOOCK. IN...WAIT. JUST OVER AN HOUR AND A BIT OMG YES.

  • oh Please bring new season soon. And don't just make 3 episodes per season.

  • this movie is very OLD! i have watched it a year ago. why does BBC uploaded it today?

  • @999nizami999 serise 2 starts today

  • @khenry88 thanks for heads up.

  • @khenry88 On BBC? PBS??

  • one of my favourite new shows. They did Sherlock Holmes right!

  • So excited for series 2!!! ;D

  • Dr. Watson is so British he shits the queen.

  • @bohdan1997 Naw, Myrcroft is more typically British.

  • @bohdan1997

like, as in the Queen is srsly annoyed by him?

    intruiging.

  • @bohdan1997 Theres a difference between english and british...

  • SO EXCITED. I didn't get a chance to see the first series! ;_;

  • Marvellous and of the highest order. Such a good acting.

  • Man so exited i'm gonna go and rewatch this!

  • I wish I was British

  • @INVADERofSTUPIDthing Theres a difference between english and british...

  • @JellyWins

Just like there's a difference between North America and Canada. A difference that is largely unimportant if one would like to have been raised with a specific dialect, in both cases.

  • @INVADERofSTUPIDthing It's not great

  • @INVADERofSTUPIDthing

you can! It's easy, just pick up the accent and stop showing your emotions.

  • @bronzonia42 You do know most people from Britain don't sound anything like that

  • @mwray100

well quite a few do and I should know because I do sound like that. I am British!

    Don't you feel awkward...

  • @bronzonia42 I'm english and one person I know sounds like that, everyone else has completely different accents

  • @mwray100 well im british and from London (almost) and I sound like that ...

  • @jessicaellen95 All I'm saying is that the majority of British don't sound like the stereotypical posh British accent

  • @mwray100 depends on where you're from regionally. my best freind sounds like that - she's from the south near bath.

  • @INVADERofSTUPIDthing

dont wish to be something your not

be proud to be who you are

  • @INVADERofSTUPIDthing Yeah you do.

  • good stuff

  • SO EXCITTTTTTTTEDDDDDDDDDD

    :)

  • When will season 2 air?

  • @Channel05 It starts tonight :D

  • @Channel05 8:10 tonight on BBC1! :L
