J-20 is a copycat of Mikoyan MiG 1.42/1.44, which is 80s design, Russia through away Mig 1.42 away for some reason and took PAK FA (T-50) for 5th Gen stealth jet. So, it is hard to say J-20 is better than PAK FA.
The J-20 is not a copy because that is the general shape for a jet figher to have stealth capabilities, and currently the most efficient. This is a known design/engineering fact and even the Russian stealth fighter exhibits this shape. Any other shape would increase it's radar signature or lessen agility for dog fighting. Even the later F-35 continues to incorporate this shape as no scientist or engineer of any race or country has found a better design as of to date.
To say J-20 a copy is like saying Airbus copies all of Boeing's airliners because they all exhibit wide wingspans,row seats,and multiple engines.The Germans invented stealth to counter Britain's invention,radar.We learnt this design during WWII, by stealing and shipping a Horten HO-229 plane back to the US.The HO-229's general shape is still being used on our B-2 and F-117 stealths,and on some Russian prototype bomber stealths.It's the only general shape that'll work for stealth bombers

The US has decades of research and development ahead of the Chinese. We have whole divisions of the government dedicated to research. The US has Fighter schools since the 1970s. The F-117 was developed in the 70s. It took 15 years for it to be proven in battle. You cant come out with a piece of technology and call it a day. It takes decades. The US is a proven military machine. The only think china has is man power but they would quickly run out of ammo before the battle is over lol.

The J-20 is not a copy because that is the general shape for a jet figher to have stealth capabilities, and currently the most efficient. This is a known design/engineering fact and even the Russian stealth fighter exhibits this shape. Any other shape would increase it's radar signature or lessen agility for dog fighting. Even the later F-35 continues to incorporate this shape as no scientist or engineer of any race or country has found a better design as of to date.

To say J-20 a copy is like saying Airbus copies all of Boeing's airliners because they all exhibit wide wingspans,row seats,and multiple engines.The Germans invented stealth to counter Britain's invention,radar.We learnt this design during WWII, by stealing and shipping a Horten HO-229 plane back to the US.The HO-229's general shape is still being used on our B-2 and F-117 stealths,and on some Russian prototype bomber stealths.It's the only general shape that'll work for stealth bombers

The US has decades of research and development ahead of the Chinese. We have whole divisions of the government dedicated to research. The US has Fighter schools since the 1970s. The F-117 was developed in the 70s. It took 15 years for it to be proven in battle. You cant come out with a piece of technology and call it a day. It takes decades. The US is a proven military machine. The only think china has is man power but they would quickly run out of ammo before the battle is over lol.

While a quick Google search does not amount to much, tried "Worldwide largest university endowments" and all I got were US universities.
That said, I would say America is good at attracting talent (look at the diversity of Graduate Students at any major university)

@buddacafe Did China even get hold of that? Wasn't that a F-117, that was made on an early 70's computer and used a rather small amount of alliterations in profiling. That's why it looks like it's made out of lego or something. There is nothing in it's wreckage that would be of any use in making the airframe of a modern fighter like the J-20 accept perhaps the chemical composition of it's paints.

The Russian SU series also have dual flaps, but they still not successful against the U.S. Airforce. Just by looking at the control pannel and cockpit on that thing I can tell it isn't as technologically advanced as the f22. The f22's control pannel and hud looks like something waay beyond our time period.

Because China is trying to bully the world were one of the last lines of defense were a brand new country mostly by immigrants moving here and our economy is unstable by the Chinese and most likely we can't pay their massive debt the put on their products our countries in shambles it could end up in a war which is most likely and they are not in the Geneva convention so why should we be happy retard.

The U.S is fucked, China this year in the first quarter bought billions in foreign debt, only 1 quarter of that debt was U.S dollars, the rest (3 quarters) was Euro, the years before were all in U.S dollar making it the most powerfull trading currency in oil ans gas and and in turn giving the U.S a huge advantage, for the first time this year we see a shift by ~China towards the Euro.

All i know is that I used to love Starcraft and Warcraft and any strategy games. And also all I know is that in those strategy games, most of Chinese were really good at it.
I know it is ignorant of me to say, but if the war gets more technologically like video game I think Chinese might have some advantage.

You get the quality you pay for which can't be bought anywhere else for the same price. China didn't get anything for free. Your branded products are also made in China but people don't think of those when thinking about China. Your Macbook and iphones are also made in China. Not just walmart crap.

@1970ynot They are Chinese professors from MIT. They've been working on it for 20+ years. Multiple institutions are required for such plane. Everything you say happens in the US too, in greater numbers. Chinese incidents are overblown by the US due to politics. There are more death cause by violence in the US than anywhere in the world. You can't even dance without being arrested . I bet you can dance in Tiananmen squre but you can't in the Jefferson Memorial. US is the bully...we all know that.

Chinese fighting against them means they are on your side ...they want to be democractic. Our world doesn't allow that since US has a problem about everyone else being equal to them. @edwardtang1977 first of all taiwan i believe the proper name for it is Republic of China (much like Burma is really Myanmar) China would like nothing more than to overrun the ROC. Plenty of countries have economies as good or better than the US. Luxembourg for example and Ireland for example. In terms of military.
