@worstalentscout The Vector WX-8 was semi-real. Correct, Vector went bust a long time ago, but Jerry Weigert was bringing the company back. This was his new concept, displayed at the 2007 LA Auto Show. I really doubted it would become real, and to this day there has been nothing to show since.
@redghost105 You should do some research on handling stats. You can start by watching American Supercar Domination 2 in the video responses.
Many of the top handling cars are American. Many lap records are set by American cars. And generally our lap records are not set by race drivers, making it even more impressive.
American supercar domination hahahahahahahha, this should be under 'comedy' not 'cars and vehicles'...whats even funnier is you've been making a fool of yourself to the world for FOUR YEARS :D :D :D
@DownloadDoctor1 The "Aero 2" is called the Tuatara. It should hit roads in early 2013. It has NOT been tested so far. The estimate is 275mph, not 300. I wouldn't be surprised if it did 280+.
Look for it to hit Nurburgring before breaking the top speed record.
@TheOfficialKC The specs work out to it theoretically going 300. That's math, fact. If it could hold up is another story. Either way it will be the fastest car ever in about a year and a few months. I thought it was the end of this year beginning of next, they must have changed it. And, it has been tested in house, that's why it's advertised as going 275. :)
@DownloadDoctor1 How can you say they have tested it in house? As far as I have seen they don't even have a running prototype. If they did I am sure there would be at least some pictures. Especially if there was a speed run conducted.
Also what "math" are you using if they haven't released specs on the aerodynamics? Last I heard they hadn't done wind tunnel tests even.
@TheOfficialKC Dude, do a search, the dude that made the car is standing in front of one at a premier. All the parts for it have been tested in house, meaning not on the road but on machines.
@DownloadDoctor1 First off, just because there is a video of Jerod standing in front of the car doesn't mean every part was tested. Second, testing every part in house doesn't mean it was top speed tested. So your 300mph claim holds no water.
@fokGoogol Our roads were made before sports cars. We have lots of flat land so why make it curve? Durr, use your brain.
We offer more sports cars with manuals then Europe. Even our Cadillac CTS-V has a manual. BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, etc don't offer manual anymore. Either auto or DCT. Learn to drive stick!
Next time you can make a $100k car as fast as a ZR1 and have a better interior let me know.
@TheOfficialKC : You say your roads were made before sportcars (so much wrong with this statement) but you also had the first races in the world (Indy, since 1909). You say you offer more sport cars with stick but ALL cars in Europe are stick, AT is extra. The reason they don't offer them as MT in the USA is because not enough people know how to drive MT (proving my point). Cars as fast as the ZR1 for the same price : impossible. Cars that drive better than the ZR1 : pick any EU / JP car.
@fokGoogol You completely ignored what I said. Corvette, CTS-V, Viper, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, etc ALL sell manuals, if not ONLY manuals. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Mercedes, BMW, etc don't even offer a manual. This is 100% opposite what you said and completely disproves your point.
@fokGoogol Have you ever sat in a ZR1? Or any C6 Corvette? I have been in the Z06 and it is actually pretty nice. Not it isn't up to the standard of a Ferrari, but that costs $250,000. Try to think for a second. How do you get a car to perform better than a $250k Ferrari but cost only $100k? Obviously something has to be made cheaper, and part of that is the interior/materials quality.
It's easy to be all fanboy about things without having driven various cars from various continents. You say : "Next time you ... bla ... let me know". But you fail to see that the interior of a ZR1 is far, FAR beneath the STANDARD of EU interior quality. US car industry was almost dead because of the American ego : ours is better, bigger, faster. BMW, Audi, VW, etc didn't need massive gov bailouts though. Go figure.
@fokGoogol The ZR1 is NOT meant to be a standard setter in luxury/interior quality. The whole reason it is so great is because it offers all the performance, or more, of a $250k Euro car but for a price the average person, like us, can possibly own one day. So if the ZR1 was my dream car and the 458 was yours, you could talk trash but one day I could be driving my dream and you would still be dreaming.
@fokGoogol So I will repeat myself, next time EU makes a car the same price as a ZR1 and as fast with a better interior let me know. I bet they can't.
Moral of the story, understand what a car's purpose and design intent is.
@TheOfficialKC : And a PS ... I am not trying to flame or bring you down in any way.... I prefer a healthy conversation amongst car-nuts. I do respect the US car industry but they've been slacking for decades. Now the US finally has a car to be somewhat proud of (the Corvette) other car manufacturers in the US are following. Chevy didn't know how to make small cars and bought Daewoo ... to LEARN. Others are still making cars bigger and heavier than life (not as big as ego though). Cheers, m8!
@TheOfficialKC : sigh ... just one more comment : You say "We have lots of flat land so why make it curve?" ... I live in probably the flattest country in the world (the Netherlands)! ... You'd love driving here ... but lanes are still very narrow and curvy :)
They made the Vette small for a reason ... they tested it on the Nur.
Some absolutely great cars there, but including highly modified cars is a bit of a cheat. I still say none come close to the overall look, refinement, quality, ease of use and engineering of the bugatti Veyron. You can do a trans continental trip in a Veyron in comfort and luxury, then head off to the VW high speed test track &hit 431 km/h/267mp/h test track. I love the Ford GT, but a modified 700HP version was comfortably beaten by a standard Nissan GT-R and 911 Gt2 on Australian Top Gear.
@JBMaximize Only 2 of the cars were modified. But if you want to see even more American supercars (better than these ones) check out part 2 in the video responses.
The SSC Ultimate Aero is actually more comfortable than the Veyron for trans continental trips, and on the windy roads along the way it is much more fun. Stop at the Texas Mile and you will smoke the Veyron. Stop at VW's test track and again, you will beat even the Veyron SS.
@SovereignCin3ma Yep. It proves how brainwashed Europeans are into thinking America can't build a supercar. And you should see the second installment!
@TheOfficialKC There is no brainwash in europe. go see for yourself. they dont hang flags all over the place, the history books arent full of shit and the govt actually does their job
I bet you have never read any of our history books.
Our government pretty much runs the world.
But those have NOTHING to do with the subject so don't bother responding about those. This is about supercars. And those had nothing to do with brainwash anyways.
@SovereignCin3ma So for cars and brainwash. Europeans are the ones who have had their supercar reign for quite a time. I can admit this. They have historically built the best supercars. But this has gotten to your heads and when an American brand builds one you dismiss it without any evidence. It is just being cocky(the same reason GM, Ford & Chrysler had such crappy quality in the 80s)...
@SovereignCin3ma ...But if you actually stop being biased and brainwashed for 5 seconds and look at the facts and stats of the new generation of American supercars you would realize that they have at least matched the European supercars, and in many cases surpassed them, in quality and performance.
@TheOfficialKC uhm...half of the cars shown in this vid are custom made :) No offence bro,but tuned cars dont count! Americans can make how much cars they want...ppl will always turn their heads after a Ferrari or a lambo :) all this work in vain :P
@ThugP4ssi0n 2 out of the 7 cars featured in this video are aftermarket modified. The rest come that way from the factory. That is actually less than 1/3.
You should check out the second video in this series. It features a lot more cars, none of which are modified.
People turn their heads when a ferrari or lambo passes. I do too. They are cool. But park a S7 TT next to a Ferrari and the S7 will get more attention.
@TheOfficialKC Well I really dont wanna be rude or somethin here bro,but look at the Lambo Reventon and look at a S7 for example...I mean bro,you cant beat that... :) It dont matter how hard they try...you just cant! The only american supercar that comes close to that...is the Vector W8..the rest have shapes of asses bro...no offense :) But thats my opinion so yeah...I cant and I dont wanna change ur mind about it and you cant change mine either lol so lets enjoy dem cars :D Have a nice1
@ThugP4ssi0n But bro, yeah, like look at the S7 bro, I'm high and make no sense, but bro, you just can't beat American supercars bro. no matter how hard you try.
@TheOfficialKC yup, i agree... american cars are catching up with european performance HOWEVER!!!!@#! they still look ugly and not innovative enough... People who design these cars must be either Old as hell or high school grad kids who ghetto shit up. I'm an american but gawd pls stop with that 70's muscle car crap!!!
@devilzmantis Have you ever seen a Ford GT, Saleen S7, FFR GTM, Iconic AC Roadster, Kepler Motion, Revenge Verde, Sondoulos SportStar, Mach 7 Falcoln, Rossion Q1, Superlite SL-C, SL-R, SL-N, or Scorpion P6? They all look great. And NONE of them are anything like 70s muscle cars.
Also look up the new SSC Next Generation. It looks amazing. Makes Pagani and Koenigsegg look bland. And the new Mosler Raptor coming out is supposed to look great.
@TheOfficialKC YES I agree those are elite cars that looks great.... but they are supercars and are not everyday production cars like the Camaro, Mustangs and Corvettes. AND if you start spending in the Ford GT or Saleen Price range, I'd rather go for a Lambo, Ferrari or Porsche 911 Turbo.
American Dominance starts in the everday production, the little guys... then the supercars will get the recognition it deserves.
@devilzmantis What part of this video being about SUPERCARS did you not understand?
As far as everyday production cars go, the Mustang and Camaro look great and they outhandle sports cars like the Nissan 370Z. The Corvettes are the best performance/fun for money and they look great. The GT500 is a beast and the Mustang Boss 302 LS will outhandle probably everything under $100k.
The Cobalt SS is the fastest true everyday FWD, the CTS-V the fastest, best looking sedan.
@TheOfficialKC well we can agree to disagree... the mustangs and camaros or even the cadi are not standard setters like the bmw 3 series or the M3. They do not appeal to me. I live in San Francisco Bay Area and in any given month, i've seen Twenty 370Zs, 2 BMW M3s, 10 BMW 335s... AND 0 Mustang Boss, 1 Cobalt and 1/2 CTS-V.
@devilzmantis Seeing as how the Boss came out maybe a few months ago, of course you won't see as many as you will BMW 335s. You also live in the Gay Area, I mean Bay Area, where car enthusiasts don't really live, just hippies.
So what does not appeal to you about them?
As a matter of fact they ARE standard setters. Or if you consider something like the 370Z a standard then they are superior to the standard.
@TheOfficialKC LOL now i know where "American" car enthusiasts went wrong by reading your response. First of all, the SF Bay Area have more than double the national average household income. They have a higher percentage of higher education. BUT MOST important of all... they have major International influence... And my friend, that's where American cars go wrong. They appeal only to the average Americans... and they will never be accepted anywhere else.
@devilzmantis I never said anything about the money in the Gay Area. Either way it has nothing to do with cars.
What is true is the narrow mindedness of the people there, as you are displaying. You don't know anything about American cars but you talk trash and say they aren't good. About equivalent to being racist.
@vanggirl89 Not a single car in the video is a kit car. The Venom 1000 is a very professionally modified Viper(production tuning package) and the Red Devil is a custom build(based on a production car), swapping the Chevy V8 for a twin turbo Chevy V8 from the best engine builder in the world.
@kiuset No, generally not. That has never been their goal. Americans focused on performance. The Saleen S7TT may not be elegant, but no European car will come close to it's all-around performance. I could say similar about all the rest too. So it depends on what you want. The best performance at a good price: get American. Elegance at a high price: get European.
For those who keep talkin bad about American cars, let's not forget the Ford GT costs $150,000, you can get a Porsche Carrera GT (which has about the same speed and acceleration) for almost three times the price! And for you all who don't like the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, I read that it gets 22mpg on the highway! I don't know about everyone else, but that's pretty impressive for a car with almost twelve hundred horses!
American supercars are really something, yet so unknown in Europe! I'm pretty amazed.
But still, why should WE argue about who makes the best cars? Does anyone here build them? Why don't we just appreciate the craftsmanship, the engineering achievement of such masterpieces whoever built them? There are good and bad people anywhere and they are all the same around the world.
Greetings from Baden-Württemberg (the Porsche/Mercedes/Audi R8 state ;) )
@asanokuuki I agree. It shouldn't matter who made it. If it is a great car then it is a great car, no matter what the origin is. I love lots of European supercars. I just wish (many) Europeans weren't so biased and closed minded.
at least 3 cars on here are not street legal and the veyron ss would beat all of them besides the last car wich is is just ridiculous so yea eourope still wins not to mention the koeingsegg and the mclaren f1
@europlayer13 the Saleen S7 cranks out the same amount of power but has half the cylinders and half the turbos than the veyron, and the veyron his a huge hunk of metal, and it's crap, it's completely unmpracticle, I mean, if you can't crank out 1000 hp with 8 cylinders, I excpect the veyron to crank 2000hp but it can't cause it's a bad car, end of story, (saleen's high speed record was 259mph, and saleen said it was only that low because they ran out of room.)
@1blackdeath51501 yet it still has not beat the record and its not 259 its 248 plus Americans mace cars just to go fast meanwhile Europeans make them fast and good to look at
@europlayer13 saleen was caught doing 260, but they didn't have a guiness world records guy to document it, and just because the veyron is the fastes in the guiness world records book doesn't mean it's the fastes car out there.
@europlayer13 The 'base' Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is rated at 248mph. You will notice the Competition package has 285hp more. It was internally tested to ~260mph. There were no Guinness people to record it so it isn't official. But that is the only way it compares to the Veyron. It will destroy the Veyron in the corners. It handles as good as a Gumpert Apollo. So Gumpert handling, Veyron SS top speed, and better than Veyron acceleration.(the 750hp TT matches the Veyron standing mile)
Gee Commadore what happened to our back and forth I have had an answer to every argument you have you have ignored every point I make don't join any debate teams you will let them down
Disqualifies My statement are you really a judge in a competition it was Available with a factory 10 year 100,000 mile warranty G.M. put there stamp on the product eat shit
if you pulled into a gas station with a veryon the man wouldn't know wear the dip stick was with a sledgehammer you could pull into ANY garage get tires mounted and balanced under a grand change oil and filters all in stock sitting on the shelf probably take a month to get a filter for a veryon with a tire change 15 minutes away at top speed and priced a minimum 100,000 dollars (if you live next door to the factory)even if you got a chance to run WHO would
the GAYRON was supposed to be the end all top speed street car wen it was released but it never topped the 20 year old record buy the Callaway sledgehammer 254.7MPH air conditioned, surround sound&granny friendly drive-ability
its not ignorance or arrogance, its just the truth, either you like it or not, the most refined high-tech in general, comes either from Japan or some european country, Americans have another aproach, that Bigger is better, so thats why American cars are done with simplistic brute force (Horse Power) for the straight line.
@ciriusn You should watch the second part of this video then. It is all handling and it shows how they are world class cars. They smoke jap cars and smoke 95% of Euro cars. Even though we produce 1/3 as many sports cars as Europe we still hold many of the top spots on tracks.
@ciriusn "Americans have another aproach, that Bigger is better, so thats why American cars are done with simplistic brute force (Horse Power) for the straight line."
Google skidpad and slalom numbers for Corvettes, Vipers, and...well...pretty much all the cars in this vid. Be careful, though; you'll be forced to question everything you believe on the subject. This isn't 1968, my friend. American performance can match anything out there, even in the curves. Welcome to the 21st century.
@ciriusn which is why the ford mustang gt and shebly cobra are coveted world-wide? each country creates their own breed of excellence, attacking one in particular makes you sound ignorant
@GHOSTripz Hennessey is a tuning shop in Texas. They have been building Twin Turbo Vipers for over a decade. The Venom 1000 is a Viper with 1000hp and aero/body, brake, suspension, wheels, and interior mods.
Have you ever herd of somthing called freedom of speech? I like the bugatti better. So do thoudsans of people around the world. You and I can't say that ones better, because we haven't driven these cars.
@grimlock122 I am not against freedom of speech, I am against people making biased judgment, and picking a car for false reasons.
A lot of reasons people pick a Veyron as a great car is simply BS. A lot of reasons they say the SSC is bad is simply BS. Non-factual and made up. I am just here to spread the truth.
look, i just think, and this is my personal opinion, that the veyron is a better car than these cars. i'm not trying to change your minds. oh and stop referring to the bugatti as the gayron. if you want to call it that then say it to a bugatti employee's face.
@grimlock122 The Bugatti Veyron is slower around a track than these cars with half the power. It is barely faster in acceleration even though it has double the power. It is no more comfortable. It is less reliable. It gets worse gas mileage. It costs up to 10 times as much.
It really is a genius product. Build the shittiest supercar and sell it for twice as much because it has a Bugatti badge and can go 253mph.
The veyron ss is faster than everything in the vidio some of it dosn't exist. If that's your opinion mr kc I respect that. Just stop bragging. Oh and don't bother about the ssc 2 or dagger gt, they're contepts
@grimlock122 The Veyron SS is faster in only faster in a straight line. It is fast 0-60 and in top speed. But those are stupid measures of performance. On a track it is heavy and slow. The only reason it can beat cars like the Saleen S7TT to the quarter mile is because it has 450hp more. The Veyron is a POS. Compare it to any American car with equal power and it will get smoked. A 1000hp Ford GT beat the 1000hp Veyron to 200mph by over 5 seconds.
@grimlock122 If you line up a Veyron, even the SS, next to a Ultimate Aero, Heffner Ford GT1000, or Hennessey Venom GT, it will get destroyed in a drag race. Give them a race track and the Veyron will get smoked even more. Even a 530hp Mosler or 750hp Saleen S7 will smoke a 1200hp Veyron SS around a track.
@TheOfficialKC the GAYRON couldn't stand up to My brothers car in the quarter mile and he built it in his back yard LOL he is 0-60 in 1 second and in the 7 second bracket
@grimlock122 bugatti Gayron loos like a streatched ot Volkswagon Beetle with 2 V8's and 4 TURBOS. Anyone can achieve that speed with 2 engines and 4 turbos.
@grimlock122 he won't say anything about the Dagger or the SSC but I will the dagger is gunna chew a new ass in every so called super car in the world then what will you say" it's ugly it has no sole it's cheep"they will be nothing but words just like what spills from your mouth now .TheO.kc says a Mosler would leave a Gayron behind on any road course track with just an LS3N/a & in America anything that an LS3 fits in can have 1750 Hp with a phone call to NRE"it's not stock." the cry of a loser
@71CommodoreGSE the Gayron was not going that fast wen it first came out it was slower but 19-20 years newer and built to be the fastest end all be all car I say fail and the sledgehammer was and still is a far more drivable normal road car than the Gayron 30,000 dollars for rubber 70,000 to mount that rubber and depending on wear you live you have to ship the whole works back to the factory for it all to happen for that much you can have a whole Zo6 carbon fiber addition what a money pit
@sirlonghair So why isn't the SSC Ultimate Aero faster than the Sledgehammer? Does the fact that the SSC is slower make it crap, just because it's not as old?
Apart from that, the Sledgehammer was a tuned car, not a production car. Which completely disqualifies your statement because tuned cars aren't valid if you're talking about speed records for production cars.
@71CommodoreGSE well like the Veryon the Sledgehammer had a closed super-speedway with banked corners the Areo did it on a public desert road with a camber(road is a convex surface for water sheading)& had plenty of power left wen it was running out of road same thing with the Keeting TKR they are all stock with Nelson Racing Engines with 1750Hp. ran minimal boost & made around 900Hp enough to propel it to 260 on 3 miles of dirt lakebed from a dead stop European power is second to the USA
@71CommodoreGSE how can it not make those power figures these engines already exist and power cars and are dyno proven and road proven search: NRE 2500Hp 572 or just stick your head in the sand
@sirlonghair The website says that they will nut stop "until they have met these goals". In my book, that means that they haven't achieved those numbers yet.
And I don't know a single road car engine that could reliably deliver 2500 hp. Tuned engines can do that, but they aren't reliable enough.
@71CommodoreGSE did you look up 572 2500Hp.on NRE tv or stick your head in the sand before typing that you will have to force yourself to eat your heart out because those videos are right there he uses his own destine of fuel injection system that allows as Tom Nelsons says in his words,"You can have your cake and eat it too"his 2000Hp. 69 Camaro #004 super car is a prime show case for this technology just because you call bullshit don't change reality
@71CommodoreGSE even if they only ever deliver a thousand Hp. it will still be quicker & faster and corner better considering the dagger will be half the weight of a Veryon I don't see the rubber on the V being very reliable and I bet a 2500Hp big block can rev to red line for longer than 15 minutes(@top speed for the slower V the rubber is garbage)the whole engine is cheaper than the V's rubber mounted and balanced not counting transporting the rims to and from the factory only place it's done
@sirlonghair I'm not sold until I see it. We should continue this discussion when it's actually out for sale. Talking about cars that aren't actually there is completely senseless.
Apart from that, the record for the fastest car that ever drove on an open street is unbroken since the time before WWII. And guess what: it isn't american.
@71CommodoreGSE O common do tell me about this car I type information you are using imagination how about information NAME the car so I can blow you out of the water again you haven't commented about the NRE dyno videos nor the 2000Hp 69 camaro streeting around town all day long in traffic and heat proof of you word is nil so far what you think is obviously of no matter because you have nothing to say about it but what you think NRE has proven 2000Hp big blocks roam the street at will
@sirlonghair Of course it is, but Bugatti isn't making much profit by selling Veyrons. The new SS is evern built on a loss, because the development costs are extremely high. I don't think that many other cars have had a testing phase as long as the Veyron's. Yes, it is expensive (and I wouldn't buy one), but it isn't a money pit because there are reasons for it's high price.
@sirlonghair So an SSC isn't a money pit, or what? It's only logical that a very powerful and fast street car which features an unique engine, gearbox etc. is expensive to maintain and repair.
@sirlonghair I didn't say "fastest street car ever" but "fastest speed ever driven on a street". And the car I was talking about was a modded Merc W125 with a 736 hp V12. It did 432.7 km/h in 1938 with Rudolf Caracciola on the wheel on the autobahn between Frankfurt and Darmstadt. This record hasn't been broken since then.
@71CommodoreGSE so you prove My point the Veryon can't even build a faster car than a 1938 w125 tho I doubt it was a production modal or backed with a warrenty
@sirlonghair yep, you coul (probably), but it hasn't been done yet. Also, even if the SSC would eventually break it, a 1938 car that does 432 is still damn impressive ;)
By the way... is there any American Supercar that does not look like a heap of steal? Is there any car that does look beatiful? Nope.... just look at the ghastly SSC Ultimate Aero... wtf
@TheNienhouse Dude, stop trying so hard Clarkson. The Ultiamte Aero looks good. I am not saying great, it is no Aston Martin, Ford GT, or Koenigsegg, but it sure as hell a lot better looking than the fat toad Veyron.
And if you want to complain about the looks of cars have you seen the new 458 Italia or the McLaren MP4-12C(besides the terrible name)? The Ferrari F430 was great but the 458 is trash.
I am sorry, because I do not want to offend Americans... at least not for their cars. But when reading all the discussions here,
I really have to say: Look at a Veyron, Aston One 77, Audi R8 V10, any Ferrari, Porsche 911 GT2, GT3 RS, Carrera GT, Koenigsegg... and those are just the new ones. Tell me the name of one American Supercar that does come close to one of those... :D
+ European Supercars have a soul, meaning they are not ugly as shit...!
@TheNienhouse The Ultimate Aero, Saleen S7TT, Mosler MT900S, Iconic AC Roadster, and Devon GTX all smoke comparable European supercars in both straight line and handling. The S7, Iconic, Devon, Ford GT, Viper, Mosler and Revenge Verde all look great.
@TheNienhouse A Soul? What the hell, how subjective is this statement? A Corvette ZR1 is better looking than pretty much everything! And it's also faster than most cars you named! There are a lot of US-Supercars that smoke European cars that cost twice as much! And finally some GREAT cars: Mosler MT900-GTR, Saleen S7 Twin Turbo, Vector WX8, SSC Ultimate Aero TT, Devon GTX, Corvette ZR1, Viper ACR. Those cars kick the ass of every European car in their price range! Oh, I'm European myself...
these car still got nothing. they might be fast, yet are they any good? not as good as the other side of the atlantic. ALL HAIL LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH, FERRARI F40 AND THE MIGHTY MCLAREN F1!
these car still got nothing. they might be fast, yet are they any good? not as good as the other side of the atlantic. ALL HAIL LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH, FERRARI F40 AND THE MIGHTY MCLARN F1!
@honotron We only produce about 5 real sports/supercars. Out of those 5 only 2 have been tested at the Ring, the ZR1 and ACR and they both set the track record when they did.
Its ridiculous to complain about the Veyrons weight, this is a car with no compromise, its luxurious, well built & a motor that wont melt, it isn't a stripped out kit car so people should stop comparing it to one.
They could've given it more power and less weight (and did later with the ss) but they don't have the retarded American 'Faster at any cost' mentality, its about engineering prowess and end product. Yes Bugatti wants the speed record but they wont build a shit plastic car to do it.
@honotron Actually the Veyron is ALL compromise. AWD, overweight engine, extremely heavy design, aluminum body panels, etc is all compromise for a fun and fast car.
If I wanted comfort I would buy a Maybach, Spyker, Aston Martin, or Cadillac well before a Veyron as they are much more comfortable.
If I wanted a fast, fun car well the SSC does that much better than the Veyron.
The Veyron isn't that comfortable, and when you combine that with boring to drive and not that fast, it is shitty.
@TheOfficialKC, "if I wanted, if I wanted". Why the hell cars like Aston Martins, Bentley continental GT, Rolls Royce phantom coupe etc. even exist then if its only like "if I want conmfort I buy liousine, if I want fun I buy F1 car".
@TheOfficialKC As a matter of fact, the Veyron SS is faster, better looking, a lot more comfortable and reliable than the SSC. It's a car that you could use on a daily basis, if you can afford it obviously. If money isn't an issue, the veyron SS is probably the best car ever made.
"The driving position is comfortable, with a snug sport seat that provides great lateral support and manual fore-and-aft and seatback-angle adjustments"
@TheOfficialKC yes, all compromise... W16 engine with 4 turbos. it has 12 coolers in total, has everything a GT should have, does over 400 km/h, 0-100 in less than 3 seconds, 0-200 in less than 7.
and heavy design?? if you know anything about any type of engineering, that would actually be counter-productive. and the engine is NOT overweight. can you get 1000 BHP and enough torque from a small, light engine?
maybe it's not as beutiful as a Zonda, but still. it is an engineering masterpiece.
@IMB2U The W16 weighs in at 100lbs more than the V8 in the SSC yet it is no more reliable. Even though it is 1.7L larger and has twice the cylinders it still requires more boost to make the same power. The overall size of the engine raises the CG. The shear weight of the car is a compromise for acceleration and handling, hence why it needs 250hp more than the Saleen S7TT to go .5s faster through the mile and 500hp more than a Z06 to beat it by 2 seconds on the Nurburgring.
@IMB2U The 1001hp Veyron gets slaughtered by a 1000hp Ford GT that is only powered by the rear wheels from 0-200mph. It then gets slaughtered on the way back to Zero. On the skidpad even a Mustang GT handles as well as the Veyron.
All that because it is a "GT". But it is a terrible GT. It is louder than a GT2 inside, the stereo is crappy, the ride quality is harsh and bumpy, and for $1.5 million you don't even get navigation.
the veyron is the best..it has all safety features and is still pretty outside, fantastic inside and at 250mph it doesn't feel like is falling apart...and it handles rather well
everyone knows Ferrari is just about hype and bullcrap..............
is the Vector WX-8 real ? i thought the company went bust after WX-3 ???
worstalentscout 3 weeks ago
@worstalentscout The Vector WX-8 was semi-real. Correct, Vector went bust a long time ago, but Jerry Weigert was bringing the company back. This was his new concept, displayed at the 2007 LA Auto Show. I really doubted it would become real, and to this day there has been nothing to show since.

americans might not beable to make a car that can turn very well...but they are very good at point over 1000 horsepower
redghost105 1 month ago
@redghost105 You should do some research on handling stats. You can start by watching American Supercar Domination 2 in the video responses.
Many of the top handling cars are American. Many lap records are set by American cars. And generally our lap records are not set by race drivers, making it even more impressive.

I think Aero 2 comes out this year, tested at 275 mph, theoretically can go 300 mph. It's the fastest car in the world and it's American. US wins.
DownloadDoctor1 4 months ago
@DownloadDoctor1 The "Aero 2" is called the Tuatara. It should hit roads in early 2013. It has NOT been tested so far. The estimate is 275mph, not 300. I wouldn't be surprised if it did 280+.
Look for it to hit Nurburgring before breaking the top speed record.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@TheOfficialKC The specs work out to it theoretically going 300. That's math, fact. If it could hold up is another story. Either way it will be the fastest car ever in about a year and a few months. I thought it was the end of this year beginning of next, they must have changed it. And, it has been tested in house, that's why it's advertised as going 275. :)
DownloadDoctor1 4 months ago
@DownloadDoctor1 How can you say they have tested it in house? As far as I have seen they don't even have a running prototype. If they did I am sure there would be at least some pictures. Especially if there was a speed run conducted.
Also what "math" are you using if they haven't released specs on the aerodynamics? Last I heard they hadn't done wind tunnel tests even.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@TheOfficialKC Dude, do a search, the dude that made the car is standing in front of one at a premier. All the parts for it have been tested in house, meaning not on the road but on machines.
DownloadDoctor1 4 months ago
@DownloadDoctor1 First off, just because there is a video of Jerod standing in front of the car doesn't mean every part was tested. Second, testing every part in house doesn't mean it was top speed tested. So your 300mph claim holds no water.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@TheOfficialKC No, the 300 is simple math dude, figure it out, look at the specs. smh
DownloadDoctor1 4 months ago
@DownloadDoctor1 Again, how can you do "simple math" if they haven't released the specs for the Aerodynamics?

American roads compensate for bad cars. Come drive in Europe!
American cars compensate for bad drivers. Learn to drive a stick!
American quality compensates for low budget. Use leather instead of plastic!
fokGoogol 5 months ago
@fokGoogol Our roads were made before sports cars. We have lots of flat land so why make it curve? Durr, use your brain.
We offer more sports cars with manuals then Europe. Even our Cadillac CTS-V has a manual. BMW, Mercedes, Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, etc don't offer manual anymore. Either auto or DCT. Learn to drive stick!
Next time you can make a $100k car as fast as a ZR1 and have a better interior let me know.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@TheOfficialKC : You say your roads were made before sportcars (so much wrong with this statement) but you also had the first races in the world (Indy, since 1909). You say you offer more sport cars with stick but ALL cars in Europe are stick, AT is extra. The reason they don't offer them as MT in the USA is because not enough people know how to drive MT (proving my point). Cars as fast as the ZR1 for the same price : impossible. Cars that drive better than the ZR1 : pick any EU / JP car.
fokGoogol 4 months ago
@fokGoogol You completely ignored what I said. Corvette, CTS-V, Viper, SSC, Mosler, Hennessey, etc ALL sell manuals, if not ONLY manuals. Ferrari, Lamborghini, Pagani, Koenigsegg, Mercedes, BMW, etc don't even offer a manual. This is 100% opposite what you said and completely disproves your point.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@fokGoogol Have you ever sat in a ZR1? Or any C6 Corvette? I have been in the Z06 and it is actually pretty nice. Not it isn't up to the standard of a Ferrari, but that costs $250,000. Try to think for a second. How do you get a car to perform better than a $250k Ferrari but cost only $100k? Obviously something has to be made cheaper, and part of that is the interior/materials quality.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@TheOfficialKC : Not done :)
Go figure.
fokGoogol 4 months ago
@fokGoogol The ZR1 is NOT meant to be a standard setter in luxury/interior quality. The whole reason it is so great is because it offers all the performance, or more, of a $250k Euro car but for a price the average person, like us, can possibly own one day. So if the ZR1 was my dream car and the 458 was yours, you could talk trash but one day I could be driving my dream and you would still be dreaming.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@fokGoogol So I will repeat myself, next time EU makes a car the same price as a ZR1 and as fast with a better interior let me know. I bet they can't.
Moral of the story, understand what a car's purpose and design intent is.
TheOfficialKC 4 months ago
@TheOfficialKC : And a PS ... I am not trying to flame or bring you down in any way.... I prefer a healthy conversation amongst car-nuts. I do respect the US car industry but they've been slacking for decades. Now the US finally has a car to be somewhat proud of (the Corvette) other car manufacturers in the US are following. Chevy didn't know how to make small cars and bought Daewoo ... to LEARN. Others are still making cars bigger and heavier than life (not as big as ego though). Cheers, m8!
fokGoogol 4 months ago
@TheOfficialKC : sigh ... just one more comment : You say "We have lots of flat land so why make it curve?" ... I live in probably the flattest country in the world (the Netherlands)! ... You'd love driving here ... but lanes are still very narrow and curvy :)
They made the Vette small for a reason ... they tested it on the Nur.
Peace.

JBMaximize 7 months ago

TheOfficialKC 7 months ago
@TheOfficialKC There is no brainwash in europe. go see for yourself. they dont hang flags all over the place, the history books arent full of shit and the govt actually does their job
SovereignCin3ma 7 months ago
@SovereignCin3ma What flags do we hang all over the place?
I bet you have never read any of our history books.
Our government pretty much runs the world.
But those have NOTHING to do with the subject so don't bother responding about those. This is about supercars. And those had nothing to do with brainwash anyways.
TheOfficialKC 7 months ago
@SovereignCin3ma So for cars and brainwash. Europeans are the ones who have had their supercar reign for quite a time. I can admit this. They have historically built the best supercars. But this has gotten to your heads and when an American brand builds one you dismiss it without any evidence. It is just being cocky(the same reason GM, Ford & Chrysler had such crappy quality in the 80s)...
TheOfficialKC 7 months ago
@SovereignCin3ma ...But if you actually stop being biased and brainwashed for 5 seconds and look at the facts and stats of the new generation of American supercars you would realize that they have at least matched the European supercars, and in many cases surpassed them, in quality and performance.

ThugP4ssi0n 7 months ago
@ThugP4ssi0n 2 out of the 7 cars featured in this video are aftermarket modified. The rest come that way from the factory. That is actually less than 1/3.
You should check out the second video in this series. It features a lot more cars, none of which are modified.
People turn their heads when a ferrari or lambo passes. I do too. They are cool. But park a S7 TT next to a Ferrari and the S7 will get more attention.
TheOfficialKC 7 months ago
@TheOfficialKC Well I really dont wanna be rude or somethin here bro,but look at the Lambo Reventon and look at a S7 for example...I mean bro,you cant beat that... :) It dont matter how hard they try...you just cant! devilzmantis 7 months ago
TheOfficialKC 7 months ago
@TheOfficialKC YES I agree those are elite cars that looks great.... but they are supercars and are not everyday production cars like the Camaro, Mustangs and Corvettes. AND if you start spending in the Ford GT or Saleen Price range, I'd rather go for a Lambo, Ferrari or Porsche 911 Turbo.
American Dominance starts in the everday production, the little guys... then the supercars will get the recognition it deserves.
devilzmantis 7 months ago
@devilzmantis What part of this video being about SUPERCARS did you not understand?
As far as everyday production cars go, the Mustang and Camaro look great and they outhandle sports cars like the Nissan 370Z. The Corvettes are the best performance/fun for money and they look great. The GT500 is a beast and the Mustang Boss 302 LS will outhandle probably everything under $100k.
The Cobalt SS is the fastest true everyday FWD, the CTS-V the fastest, best looking sedan.
TheOfficialKC 7 months ago
@TheOfficialKC well we can agree to disagree... the mustangs and camaros or even the cadi are not standard setters like the bmw 3 series or the M3. They do not appeal to me. I live in San Francisco Bay Area and in any given month, i've seen Twenty 370Zs, 2 BMW M3s, 10 BMW 335s... AND 0 Mustang Boss, 1 Cobalt and 1/2 CTS-V.
devilzmantis 7 months ago
@devilzmantis Seeing as how the Boss came out maybe a few months ago, of course you won't see as many as you will BMW 335s. You also live in the Gay Area, I mean Bay Area, where car enthusiasts don't really live, just hippies.
So what does not appeal to you about them?
As a matter of fact they ARE standard setters. Or if you consider something like the 370Z a standard then they are superior to the standard.
TheOfficialKC 7 months ago
@TheOfficialKC LOL now i know where "American" car enthusiasts went wrong by reading your response. First of all, the SF Bay Area have more than double the national average household income. They have a higher percentage of higher education. BUT MOST important of all... they have major International influence... And my friend, that's where American cars go wrong. They appeal only to the average Americans... and they will never be accepted anywhere else.
devilzmantis 7 months ago
@devilzmantis I never said anything about the money in the Gay Area. Either way it has nothing to do with cars.
What is true is the narrow mindedness of the people there, as you are displaying. You don't know anything about American cars but you talk trash and say they aren't good. About equivalent to being racist.

kiuset 9 months ago
@kiuset No, generally not. That has never been their goal. Americans focused on performance. The Saleen S7TT may not be elegant, but no European car will come close to it's all-around performance. I could say similar about all the rest too. So it depends on what you want. The best performance at a good price: get American. Elegance at a high price: get European.
TheOfficialKC 9 months ago
@TheOfficialKC i got you
kiuset 8 months ago
For those who keep talkin bad about American cars, let's not forget the Ford GT costs $150,000, you can get a Porsche Carrera GT (which has about the same speed and acceleration) for almost three times the price! And for you all who don't like the SSC Ultimate Aero TT, I read that it gets 22mpg on the highway! I don't know about everyone else, but that's pretty impressive for a car with almost twelve hundred horses!
QRXenomorphs 9 months ago
Good video! Really hits a nerve.
Greetings from Baden-Württemberg (the Porsche/Mercedes/Audi R8 state ;) )
asanokuuki 9 months ago
@asanokuuki I agree. It shouldn't matter who made it. If it is a great car then it is a great car, no matter what the origin is. I love lots of European supercars. I just wish (many) Europeans weren't so biased and closed minded.

at least 3 cars on here are not street legal and the veyron ss would beat all of them besides the last car wich is is just ridiculous so yea eourope still wins not to mention the koeingsegg and the mclaren f1
europlayer13 9 months ago
@europlayer13 the Saleen S7 cranks out the same amount of power but has half the cylinders and half the turbos than the veyron, and the veyron his a huge hunk of metal, and it's crap, it's completely unmpracticle, I mean, if you can't crank out 1000 hp with 8 cylinders, I excpect the veyron to crank 2000hp but it can't cause it's a bad car, end of story, (saleen's high speed record was 259mph, and saleen said it was only that low because they ran out of room.)
1blackdeath51501 8 months ago
@1blackdeath51501 yet it still has not beat the record and its not 259 its 248 plus Americans mace cars just to go fast meanwhile Europeans make them fast and good to look at
europlayer13 8 months ago
@europlayer13 saleen was caught doing 260, but they didn't have a guiness world records guy to document it, and just because the veyron is the fastes in the guiness world records book doesn't mean it's the fastes car out there.
1blackdeath51501 8 months ago
@europlayer13 The 'base' Saleen S7 Twin Turbo is rated at 248mph. You will notice the Competition package has 285hp more. It was internally tested to ~260mph. There were no Guinness people to record it so it isn't official. But that is the only way it compares to the Veyron. It will destroy the Veyron in the corners. It handles as good as a Gumpert Apollo. So Gumpert handling, Veyron SS top speed, and better than Veyron acceleration.(the 750hp TT matches the Veyron standing mile)

its not ignorance or arrogance, its just the truth, either you like it or not, the most refined high-tech in general, comes either from Japan or some european country, Americans have another aproach, that Bigger is better, so thats why American cars are done with simplistic brute force (Horse Power) for the straight line.

grimlock122 11 months ago
@grimlock122 I am not against freedom of speech, I am against people making biased judgment, and picking a car for false reasons.
A lot of reasons people pick a Veyron as a great car is simply BS. A lot of reasons they say the SSC is bad is simply BS. Non-factual and made up. I am just here to spread the truth.
TheOfficialKC 11 months ago
look, i just think, and this is my personal opinion, that the veyron is a better car than these cars. i'm not trying to change your minds. oh and stop referring to the bugatti as the gayron. if you want to call it that then say it to a bugatti employee's face.
grimlock122 11 months ago
@grimlock122 The Bugatti Veyron is slower around a track than these cars with half the power. It is barely faster in acceleration even though it has double the power. It is no more comfortable. It is less reliable. It gets worse gas mileage. It costs up to 10 times as much.
It really is a genius product. Build the shittiest supercar and sell it for twice as much because it has a Bugatti badge and can go 253mph.
TheOfficialKC 11 months ago
The veyron ss is faster than everything in the vidio some of it dosn't exist. If that's your opinion mr kc I respect that. Just stop bragging. Oh and don't bother about the ssc 2 or dagger gt, they're contepts
grimlock122 11 months ago
@grimlock122 The Veyron SS is faster in only faster in a straight line. It is fast 0-60 and in top speed. But those are stupid measures of performance. On a track it is heavy and slow. The only reason it can beat cars like the Saleen S7TT to the quarter mile is because it has 450hp more. The Veyron is a POS. Compare it to any American car with equal power and it will get smoked. A 1000hp Ford GT beat the 1000hp Veyron to 200mph by over 5 seconds.
TheOfficialKC 11 months ago
@grimlock122 If you line up a Veyron, even the SS, next to a Ultimate Aero, Heffner Ford GT1000, or Hennessey Venom GT, it will get destroyed in a drag race. Give them a race track and the Veyron will get smoked even more. Even a 530hp Mosler or 750hp Saleen S7 will smoke a 1200hp Veyron SS around a track.

@TheOfficialKC the GAYRON couldn't stand up to My brothers car in the quarter mile and he built it in his back yard LOL he is 0-60 in 1 second and in the 7 second bracket
sirlonghair 11 months ago
@grimlock122 bugatti Gayron loos like a streatched ot Volkswagon Beetle with 2 V8's and 4 TURBOS. Anyone can achieve that speed with 2 engines and 4 turbos.
noshabibis 11 months ago
@grimlock122 he won't say anything about the Dagger or the SSC but I will the dagger is gunna chew a new ass in every so called super car in the world then what will you say" it's ugly it has no sole it's cheep"they will be nothing but words just like what spills from your mouth now .TheO.kc says a Mosler would leave a Gayron behind on any road course track with just an LS3N/a & in America anything that an LS3 fits in can have 1750 Hp with a phone call to NRE"it's not stock." the cry of a loser
sirlonghair 11 months ago
@sirlonghair The Dagger will never be made... or at least not with these power figures.
And I do think that 267 mph are a bit more than the 254 the Callaway reached. And I am not concerned that it was as driveable as you make it seem.
71CommodoreGSE 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE the Gayron was not going that fast wen it first came out it was slower but 19-20 years newer and built to be the fastest end all be all car I say fail and the sledgehammer was and still is a far more drivable normal road car than the Gayron 30,000 dollars for rubber 70,000 to mount that rubber and depending on wear you live you have to ship the whole works back to the factory for it all to happen for that much you can have a whole Zo6 carbon fiber addition what a money pit
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@sirlonghair So why isn't the SSC Ultimate Aero faster than the Sledgehammer? Does the fact that the SSC is slower make it crap, just because it's not as old?
Apart from that, the Sledgehammer was a tuned car, not a production car. Which completely disqualifies your statement because tuned cars aren't valid if you're talking about speed records for production cars.
71CommodoreGSE 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE well like the Veryon the Sledgehammer had a closed super-speedway with banked corners the Areo did it on a public desert road with a camber(road is a convex surface for water sheading)& had plenty of power left wen it was running out of road same thing with the Keeting TKR they are all stock with Nelson Racing Engines with 1750Hp. ran minimal boost & made around 900Hp enough to propel it to 260 on 3 miles of dirt lakebed from a dead stop European power is second to the USA
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE how can it not make those power figures these engines already exist and power cars and are dyno proven and road proven search: NRE 2500Hp 572 or just stick your head in the sand
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@sirlonghair The website says that they will nut stop "until they have met these goals". In my book, that means that they haven't achieved those numbers yet.
And I don't know a single road car engine that could reliably deliver 2500 hp. Tuned engines can do that, but they aren't reliable enough.
71CommodoreGSE 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE did you look up 572 2500Hp.on NRE tv or stick your head in the sand before typing that you will have to force yourself to eat your heart out because those videos are right there he uses his own destine of fuel injection system that allows as Tom Nelsons says in his words,"You can have your cake and eat it too"his 2000Hp. 69 Camaro #004 super car is a prime show case for this technology just because you call bullshit don't change reality
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE even if they only ever deliver a thousand Hp. it will still be quicker & faster and corner better considering the dagger will be half the weight of a Veryon I don't see the rubber on the V being very reliable and I bet a 2500Hp big block can rev to red line for longer than 15 minutes(@top speed for the slower V the rubber is garbage)the whole engine is cheaper than the V's rubber mounted and balanced not counting transporting the rims to and from the factory only place it's done
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@sirlonghair I'm not sold until I see it. We should continue this discussion when it's actually out for sale. Talking about cars that aren't actually there is completely senseless.
Apart from that, the record for the fastest car that ever drove on an open street is unbroken since the time before WWII. And guess what: it isn't american.
71CommodoreGSE 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE O common do tell me about this car I type information you are using imagination how about information NAME the car so I can blow you out of the water again you haven't commented about the NRE dyno videos nor the 2000Hp 69 camaro streeting around town all day long in traffic and heat proof of you word is nil so far what you think is obviously of no matter because you have nothing to say about it but what you think NRE has proven 2000Hp big blocks roam the street at will
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE Maybe you can see what a huge money pit a Veryon is
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@sirlonghair Of course it is, but Bugatti isn't making much profit by selling Veyrons. The new SS is evern built on a loss, because the development costs are extremely high. I don't think that many other cars have had a testing phase as long as the Veyron's. Yes, it is expensive (and I wouldn't buy one), but it isn't a money pit because there are reasons for it's high price.
71CommodoreGSE 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE high price and super high upkeep ='s money pit
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@sirlonghair So an SSC isn't a money pit, or what? It's only logical that a very powerful and fast street car which features an unique engine, gearbox etc. is expensive to maintain and repair.
71CommodoreGSE 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE it is a money pit also but only a quarter as deep
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE well are you just gonna keep us in suspense name this pre ww11 fastest street car EVER you are so full of shit your eyes are brown
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@sirlonghair I didn't say "fastest street car ever" but "fastest speed ever driven on a street". And the car I was talking about was a modded Merc W125 with a 736 hp V12. It did 432.7 km/h in 1938 with Rudolf Caracciola on the wheel on the autobahn between Frankfurt and Darmstadt. This record hasn't been broken since then.
So who's full of shit now, fool?
71CommodoreGSE 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE so you prove My point the Veryon can't even build a faster car than a 1938 w125 tho I doubt it was a production modal or backed with a warrenty
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@71CommodoreGSE you could put the thrust scc on the road and do better
sirlonghair 10 months ago
@sirlonghair yep, you coul (probably), but it hasn't been done yet. Also, even if the SSC would eventually break it, a 1938 car that does 432 is still damn impressive ;)

By the way... is there any American Supercar that does not look like a heap of steal? Is there any car that does look beatiful? Nope.... just look at the ghastly SSC Ultimate Aero... wtf
TheNienhouse 1 year ago
@TheNienhouse Dude, stop trying so hard Clarkson. The Ultiamte Aero looks good. I am not saying great, it is no Aston Martin, Ford GT, or Koenigsegg, but it sure as hell a lot better looking than the fat toad Veyron.
And if you want to complain about the looks of cars have you seen the new 458 Italia or the McLaren MP4-12C(besides the terrible name)? The Ferrari F430 was great but the 458 is trash.
And you want true beauty? SSC Next Generation.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
@TheOfficialKC I will admit that the Next Generation is a good looking car, if you admit that it looks like an Enzo!
And I am deeply sorry to forget about the Ford GT, coz that is the only american supercar with soul!
TheNienhouse 1 year ago
@TheNienhouse The Next Generation does not look like an Enzo. It looks like a stealth fighter.
What gives a car soul?
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
I am sorry, because I do not want to offend Americans... at least not for their cars. But when reading all the discussions here,
I really have to say: Look at a Veyron, Aston One 77, Audi R8 V10, any Ferrari, Porsche 911 GT2, GT3 RS, Carrera GT, Koenigsegg... and those are just the new ones. Tell me the name of one American Supercar that does come close to one of those... :D
+ European Supercars have a soul, meaning they are not ugly as shit...!
TheNienhouse 1 year ago
@TheNienhouse The Ultimate Aero, Saleen S7TT, Mosler MT900S, Iconic AC Roadster, and Devon GTX all smoke comparable European supercars in both straight line and handling. The S7, Iconic, Devon, Ford GT, Viper, Mosler and Revenge Verde all look great.
I'm sorry you are blind and anti-American.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago

Even the Japanese make better supercars than the Americans. Americans are too lazy to engineer a proper car.
IMB2U 1 year ago
And theres currently 6 american cars in the Nurburgring ring top 50 production vehicle lap times, hardly American dominance is it?
honotron 1 year ago
@honotron We only produce about 5 real sports/supercars. Out of those 5 only 2 have been tested at the Ring, the ZR1 and ACR and they both set the track record when they did.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
Its ridiculous to complain about the Veyrons weight, this is a car with no compromise, its luxurious, well built & a motor that wont melt, it isn't a stripped out kit car so people should stop comparing it to one.
They could've given it more power and less weight (and did later with the ss) but they don't have the retarded American 'Faster at any cost' mentality, its about engineering prowess and end product. Yes Bugatti wants the speed record but they wont build a shit plastic car to do it.
honotron 1 year ago
@honotron Actually the Veyron is ALL compromise. AWD, overweight engine, extremely heavy design, aluminum body panels, etc is all compromise for a fun and fast car.
If I wanted comfort I would buy a Maybach, Spyker, Aston Martin, or Cadillac well before a Veyron as they are much more comfortable.
If I wanted a fast, fun car well the SSC does that much better than the Veyron.
The Veyron isn't that comfortable, and when you combine that with boring to drive and not that fast, it is shitty.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
@TheOfficialKC, "if I wanted, if I wanted". Why the hell cars like Aston Martins, Bentley continental GT, Rolls Royce phantom coupe etc. even exist then if its only like "if I want conmfort I buy liousine, if I want fun I buy F1 car".
brudel001 1 year ago
@brudel001 Aston is style. RR and Bently are basically Limousines for less people with more luxury. This has nothing to do with those cars.
F1 may be fun but it is not street legal, not comfy in the tiniest bit, and not reliable in the tiniest bit.
In fact, by your logic, might as well not buy either car. Get a private jet. more comfy than the Veyron by far, and much faster than both cars.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
@TheOfficialKC As a matter of fact, the Veyron SS is faster, better looking, a lot more comfortable and reliable than the SSC. It's a car that you could use on a daily basis, if you can afford it obviously. If money isn't an issue, the veyron SS is probably the best car ever made.
hacajaime 1 year ago
@hacajaime Faster, we don't know. The Aero never reached its top speed. And they added 104hp in 2009, and reduced drag 5%.
I think the Veyron is ugly, the Aero is much better.
Comfort. Every review compliments the SSC but Car & Driver disses the Veyron's comfort.
Reliable. The Aero is a proven V8 that has been used in applications over 2000hp reliably. The Veyron has a lot of unproven parts.
Now, the Veyron SS is less comfy and reliable than the standard Veyron.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
@TheOfficialKC
Car and driver review of Veyron
"The driving position is comfortable, with a snug sport seat that provides great lateral support and manual fore-and-aft and seatback-angle adjustments"
honotron 1 year ago
@TheOfficialKC yes, all compromise... W16 engine with 4 turbos. it has 12 coolers in total, has everything a GT should have, does over 400 km/h, 0-100 in less than 3 seconds, 0-200 in less than 7.
and heavy design?? if you know anything about any type of engineering, that would actually be counter-productive. and the engine is NOT overweight. can you get 1000 BHP and enough torque from a small, light engine?
maybe it's not as beutiful as a Zonda, but still. it is an engineering masterpiece.

But then again from anyone who titles thier videos 'american supercar domination' (and believes it) what do you expect.?
I expect he'll be making 'Equatorial Guinea Soccer Domination' next....
ahnoldbr 1 year ago
@IMB2U The W16 weighs in at 100lbs more than the V8 in the SSC yet it is no more reliable. Even though it is 1.7L larger and has twice the cylinders it still requires more boost to make the same power. The overall size of the engine raises the CG. The shear weight of the car is a compromise for acceleration and handling, hence why it needs 250hp more than the Saleen S7TT to go .5s faster through the mile and 500hp more than a Z06 to beat it by 2 seconds on the Nurburgring.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
@IMB2U The 1001hp Veyron gets slaughtered by a 1000hp Ford GT that is only powered by the rear wheels from 0-200mph. It then gets slaughtered on the way back to Zero. On the skidpad even a Mustang GT handles as well as the Veyron.
All that because it is a "GT". But it is a terrible GT. It is louder than a GT2 inside, the stereo is crappy, the ride quality is harsh and bumpy, and for $1.5 million you don't even get navigation.
TheOfficialKC 1 year ago
the veyron is the best..it has all safety features and is still pretty outside, fantastic inside and at 250mph it doesn't feel like is falling apart...and it handles rather well
