I had the first type with eight phrases, it had a tape type mech inside. It was a vinly tape that ran from one reeel to another, very clever and much more reliable than the later record type

haha, I also have 2 of those guys. One talks too fast and another a tad too slow. The first one sounds like a shaky old woman when he says; send out the patrol XD Also got a talking gi joe adventurer. He always sounds if he is in a hurry or a commercial voice over haha.
