  • hey hey! Have you heard the talk about - fast abs magic (search on google)? Ive heard some super things about it and my cooworker got hot 6 pack abs and lost crazy amounts of weight with it.

  • OMG again!! Surfing these older videos, and am learning a lot. I have an almond and avacado habit. I hear so many good thinks about them, but I am going to try to abstain for a while to lose some weight and feel more optimum. Does Frederic work out? Seeds and nuts to a minimum or just the nuts?

  • Kevin, great interview and I agree Frederick is very reflective, he seems to have integrity and explains well what has worked for him. Thank you

  • Frederic Patenaude is a baws!!

  • kevin, your personality sort of reminds me of ben stiller..in a good way! your funny :P

  • I have found that eating any cooked food triggers an allergic reaction that ends up in a binge of all kinds of undesirable processed foods eventually. I wished that I could find that balance, but so far eating as raw as possible is the only thing that works for me.

  • @scherryvalentine i have found the same thing.

  • Frederic is spot on. Instead of getting caught up in dogma he focuses on fundamentals. I relate since I followed a total plant-based diet since 1985, then raw starting in '99. Since transforming my body from 133 tp over 20o lb without steroids OR supplements and then maintaining it for 20 years vegan and ten years raw in an even more "in shape" state, I truly appreciate and support where Frederic is coming from: a place of dedication to results not dogmatic raw, vegan or ANY philosophy.

  • @RawFitChris I completely agree with you. When Frederic first went raw and was following the 811 diet he was a bit "off" with his explanations of the benefit of a raw diet. However, I know see him as a guy who has read up and is following what his body tells him. I myself try to follow 811 but I've modified it a lot for my needs to include sprouts, fresh herbs, spirulina, limited amount of oil, and sauerkraut.

  • Since he is so interested in science, why doesn't he mention acrylamide in cooked food, including his cooked root vegetables. The guy simply wants to eat cooked food. To dress it up in science is silly. The abundance of fools selling idiot pills or dodgy info in raw don't diminish the integrity of raw. Plenty of folks are thriving on raw and have no issue with getting enough calories, even the low-fat, high-fruit crowd. Cooked is a choice, not a need.

  • @purewonka Right. The only people who believe that cooked has some nutritional merit are those who never experienced genuine health. Few are those who have been raw the best way long enough, so they ingratiate themselves with cooked dogma.

  • My Dad just did the raw food challenge and It's incredible how effective it was for the whole family. We would eat parts of his meals & really enjoyed it. He's diabetic so we were worried about high blood sugar but, without all those grains he has actually had low blood sugar. He is also less tired, agitated and has a much better attitude. Over just 7 days his choice has not only changed the physical but the emotional health of the family! I hope his application makes it through the next round!

  • I always feel really good when juice fasting... It's probably because I have a couple food intolerances that I'm not aware of. I don't like to go more than 10 days. A week feels right for me. Any longer than 10 days, and I'll BINGE and end up feeling worse haha. I can't wait for my first one-week water fast! I'm gonna rent a camper and find a mountain spring water source and just chill. It's gonna be awesome hehe.

  • He brings up something I had a lot of trouble with on raw foods and that is getting enough calories on fruits and vegetables. You have to eat a lot of them to get enough calories so it can be a lot of work just to get calories. I don't think getting enough calories should be a chore. Then you get all of that fiber and your digestion sucks because it clogs you up with fiber. I opted to add higher fats and raw animal foods and I love it. It's easy, nutritious and delicious!

  • By condensed food does he mean higher calorie, lower nutrient foods? AKA low nutrient dense foods?

  • Exactly, we should all focus on the science of eating healthy not just eating based on a religion, philosophy, or theory.

  • is friday their "special" day wink wink

  • You'd prob feel even better if u start adding some raw butter and a few egg yolks with coconut butter! i felt horrible when i was vegan. now i focus on health, not ideologies or politicized diets.

  • @jjhaywood ditto to everything you said ;)

  • I've been eating raw food for about three months now! I'm loving it and feeling so good! I'm losing weight without trying and my digestion problems have all melted away!

  • I really like Frederic and totally agree with him.

  • drinking a simple favorite right now: carrots + celery juice - always tastes a little like chocolate to me....esp. when there is a little more of the carrot than the celery.

  • @11moonelf oh, did you know that sometimes when I eat some fruits they taste like ESPRESSO. I had a papaya last week and I thought I was eating coffee ice cream!! haha. Does anyone know why?

  • @cellulitelove: wowza! i was wondering if others had similar experiences, now i know - thanks for posting! :oD

  • @cellulitelove it might be a psychological influence.... do you like it? if so.... just enjoy!!!!!!!!

  • Ann Marie, you are so pretty. You remind me of Nick Cleggs wife (politician).

  • hello from canada...it's rainy and stormy in toronto canada too...

  • 10 day juice fast.. twas very good! actually started another one today.

    woop.

  • Done a partial juice fast. Seem to be to lazy to use the juicer that much,

More successful for me is a water fast. First time I did I was irritable and super hungry. Now I can do a 1 day water fast no issues.

A 1 day fast seems to work best for me. I think it is Paul Bragg that has a book on this.

  • We (me and hubby) did our first ten day juice fast on March 1st of this year. Definitely a learning experience. By day 7 we were tiring of the juice-making routine and were finding it hard to get enough juice with our busy schedule. But, we stuck it out for the ten days and gained a lot of insights. We both feel we'd definitely do another juice fast sometime. There's nothing like it for cleaning out your body, and getting in touch with yourself emotionally. :-)

  • Frederic Patenaude is the most reflected guy you've interviewed Kevin. Thanks. Keep it up!

  • I've attempted to do a juice feast but it turned into just a high juicing diet with raw foods.. I don't regret it as it made me lose weight. =^-^=

  • Yes.. 6 days master cleanser.. It was hard.. My asthma disappeared to 98% after that fast...

  • in quebec we say : C'est vendredi on fait l'amour

    (Its friday we make looove")

    Its our friday thinggy =D

  • you both look so great! : )

  • I would love to do the juice fast, but I worry about my energy levels. I need all the focus and energy I can get to get through my days. Any suggestions?

  • @jaylu0717 Drink LOTS of juice...lol!

  • @jaylu0717

Don't fast when you have to do things, just eat healthy and make sure you get enough calories.

Then when you can taka a day to rest, fast on that day.

If you are thin already, fasting for more than a day may not be wise.
