HEY if i wanted to met someone in japan and i have now idea hows he like whats is the best way to be polite and impress him i mean is it nice to just come in there house and talk im soooo scared
to much alcohol for 300 yen ... hahaha great man i love ure videos ... and one question is the girl with the glasses that is in the videos where u say that theres a car for sale in oita ... anyways is that ure girlfriend or just a good friend ... bye
ey posatrocible isn't everything expensive in japan?? that's what i've heard so how do you support yourself over there?? do you really get a lot of money working as a teacher?? please answer thanks :)
PEDRO22000: Good question! Well, actually, the cost of living isn't too bad here. If you are traveling around it can be really expensive, but once you settle and work in a place, things even out pretty quick. Hope that helps!
noobleus9: I am nothing of a ladies man... I just find being as genuine and honest as possible helps. Oh, and knowing enough Japanese to carry on some easy conversation is important. Good luck... sorry I can't be more helpful.
@Posatrocible thanks but it didnt work so i switched my sights...sorry for the reallllllly late response but i havent been on in a while but anyway thanks for your advice
so...i have a question Posatrocible. Where is the best place to move to in Japan? I'm going to move there when I graduate. And I'm already learning Japanese...with an earworm mp3/iPod like thing. I was just wondering where the best place to move is. That's all...
I like the out-door yakitori joints in Ueno that open around 5:00pm, and getting liquored up and wasted - My Japanese wife doesn't like them but I dig them alot.
hello matt... thank you very much for all your videos!!! I think that you ve got a very nice experience there in Japan. I d like to go to Japan too now, when i see your videos!!
ps: what's the name of the second song in this video pls? cause i like it ;) byeeee
kklloopp: To become a citizen of Japan... yeah, if you wanted to get to a point where you could vote in elections and things like that, it's pretty tough indeed. It depends on your line of work, your marriage status, etc.
Hey that looks like good fun and a great thing to do when your with a big group of friends.
Out of interest is there a way people tend to split the bill at the end? I'm guessing it's just the total cost divided by the amount of people or do people pay less if they have less(like the water drinker :D) ?
NullnV01d: Thanks! And good question... almost always, it's "wariken" or dividing the bill evenly among everyone. Alcoholic drinks in an Izakaya tend to be about the same price as soft drinks, so even non-drinkers can keep up value-wise.
Also, can someone tell me where I can find this mysterious water-drinker!? Hehe... it seemed like everyone was drinking beer, chu-hi, or shochu.
Thanks. I didn't actual see the water drinker just read it in another comment and it got me thinking although I think that's him at 8:33 on about the 5th Kanpia! hehe
Just one question, Matt. How well are you received while taking videos in public places in Japan? Are people really shy in front of the camera, or have you ever been asked to stop filming for any reason or anything like that? Or is it the case that people don't seem to mind? If it's a mixture of the two then how often does each occur? Just curious.
Anyways, thanks for another great video, I look forward to your next one! :D
Pyralis1: Thanks! Oh, and great question... lessee...
I haven't been asked to stop filming, but I am fairly careful to ask 1st. For example, I talked to the manager at lagu lagu (karaoke) if it was alright to film.
I don't mean to be vindictive, but Japanese people spend enough time staring at us, it's only fair we get some pay back! =) Hehe, just kidding, but honestly most people probably figure I am a tourist trying to get footage for back home, so they don't seem to mind.
One thing, I found that a couple places were offended of me taking photos of an "omamori" stand or a charm shop -- commonly found in or near temples and shrines. Also, inside stores (especially in Tokyo for some reason) they really don't like it. So it depends; always ask first.
Okey I never seen such good player at the end. Srsly hawt stuff.

I just wanted to know because I am going on a trip to Japan for 10 days with my Japanese GCSE class.
Then me and my boyfriend want to go on the JET Scheme together. ^_^
tifachick 3 years ago
tifachick: Right!?? Yeah, I was pretty shocked when I first tried it. In the end, it wasn't really my thing, but Joel loves it.
Good luck on JET! It's a blast if you get in a good area with good folks. It can be hard if you get a bad placement...

Thank you! ^_^
I hope it'll be good!
When you went on the JET Scheme, did you know much japanese?

I love all of your videos, Matt. I'm from Vancouver myself. It doesn't look like our boys are going to make it to the playoffs this season.
But anyways, I just wanted to know where you met all of your friends. Are they all your co-workers?
Keep up the excellent work!
