Easy you need a PC than install nokia power suit , and than download everything to there , than with the data cable transfer everything over to the phone and you`ll be up to date and will have the secure connection and authorized softwares for install.

Also to change firmware you must use your PC instead let your nokia choose to do so , it wont be flashed. If happened well try to do something with root files by changing flash versions. Not easy but possible.

I have a question im gonna buy a n97 (:D) but it's from september and it's all new. It has the old hardware but it is never connected to a computer. What do i have to do to get all the updates and stuff. Answer fast plzz

There is a software updater in the phone. But don't buy the N97, Buy the N97 mini. It's better. The only thing which is different is the massmemory (N97 has 32Gb and the Mini has 8GB) it's also smaller and it fits ur hand much nicer.

and you cant cover the camera lense. display screen is also a bit smaller and the battery power is weaker, but the price is nearly the same on ebay... go ahead for the N97 with 32 GB capacity, it's an ocean of memory (+16 GB card can be added)

First of all, the camera lens doesn't get dirty. Display screen isn't smaller. It's the same 360x640. The battery may be weaker but it can handle a full day with music on. The price is better, and you can add more GB. in fact, Mini in Finish means better... It's faster more smooth, no bugs like the old one, better effects, newer firmware, and why would they create a almost same shit if they already had a phone which was the same. Plus it's smaller which makes it fit in your hand very nice.

Yes, it's much better. Actually, It's true it doesn't have anything to cover the camera lens. But it, you choose how you are going to take care of your phone. My camera isn't dirty at all. And the screen isn't smaller. Battery may be weaker, but download advanced battery saver and there will be no problem. Why did they do the N97 mini if they already had a better phone called N97?

@singhisking531 if you are in a wifi network it won't cost money, and if you don't sync nothing is happend but you havent got the latest version of symbian and mayby there are some bugs which wont be fixed without an update so update your phone
