Why the hell do all these vids interchange the terms Technician and Technologists?? This clip was way too general and almost useless to anyone seriously considering the field. Everyone keeps saying "technicians" fix the equipment yet all these clips show them actually administering treatment to patients.
I'm interested in becoming an x-ray tech also. What's the price range for schooling? And what about the future job market? I've heard good things about this career but right now may not be the best time. Just wondering what your take is. Thanks
for my country,Radiologic technologist is the person who finished the Bsc degree.Technecian is the person who finished short course training in radiology or under bsc. deegree,No right to get licen.Technonologist can become Diagnostic radiology manager and respons radiation dose to patient.
@KPR1313 The difference is that Technologist are trained for more, can do more, and therfore make more. As a technician you are limited. Technologist's go thru a 2 year program, technicians go thru 8 months. If you are planning on going for it, might as well go all way. More opportunities to work in hospitals and such.
@calicuti23 Actually that is not true. Technologists and technicians are the exact same. You may be mixing this up with Clinical/medical Lab, because technicians work under technologists in Clinical Lab. I am working towards my BS in Radiologic Sciences right now and every person I have talked to in that field say that they are the exact same thing, but it is a common misconception.
Very mature response. Are you just upset that you were too stupid to realize that radiologic technologists and radiologists are two very different things? Get over yourself you big baby. You've posted that same stupid crap comment on just about every radiology related video on YouTube, it's really pathetic. You're a very sad individual.
@AnotherSchmoe Are you talking to me? Because Radiology takes 4 years of college to get a bachelors degree. And I never said I was a doctor... I don't know why you are being such a jerk?
No crap, freakin' idiot, 2 years of radiology tech school does not make you an MD. Only an MD is capable of (or even legally permitted to) diagnosing patients. Get over it. If you want to sit and diagnose and treat patients then go to college for 4 years, then medical school for 4 years, then serve a residency for another 4-5 years. This is for imaging, this is for obtaining pictures to help the doctors diagnose and treat. Stop spamming every single radiology video on YouTube with that crap.
