It's not just a collection of throws, there's an awful lot that goes on behind the scenes and you need to have a handle on the basic principles that go into throwing.

Then he threatened to kill me and I used a crowbar to side hip throw and then knocked him out with a few punches to the head on the ground. I'd have to say judo is a superior self defense especially when combined with karate striking. And yeah silva is a beast, even my master says that he's better than him. My master is in 10th place.

@clearcombat The original MMA was acient Pankration which goes all the way back to the Greeks which is the oldest in the world which was bare knuckles. The Cromagnums weren't wearing any gloves when they were fighting off other tribes going back 20,000 years ago. Bare knuckle fighting has been around as long as people had fist.

It started out at 2697 bc as purley a Chinese style of wrestling where 2 combatants wore horned helmets and rammed each other until 207bc when strikes were added, by that time Pankration was already an olympic sport for over 400 years which already had strikes and take downs. Pankration was added as an olympic sport in 648bc and existed LONG before its inception.

the guy is naked because judo often relies on grabbing the opponents clothing or gi to implement the throw. gi's are no longer allowed in most mma therefore Karo is showing you how to throw someone without the aid of their clothing.

You need to understand Judo well before understanding Karo, he is a great technician and thinking you can just take a few months under him you can throw like him is not the way it works. It literally takes years to get the proper posture and balance to get even close to his throws.
