i agree with you. he oversung to highlight his voice, not the song. he has a very edgy cry that is great for connoting sadness and loss (i'm a fan). but in this case, i don't think he captures the mood.

Pretty impressive vocal gymnastics. But remember, this is one of the greatest (if not the greatest) song ever written, originally sung by one of the greatest singer of all time. He really should remember to respect the melody and the emotion of the song more. It's a difference between emotion and vocal gymnastics. Doing all that wailing is often seen as a big sign of a novice singer whom is unsure about himself as an artist. Know you probably hate me now. That being said still a decent version:D
